This paper analyses the relationship between Stakeholders and Corporate Reputation in the Education Industry. Through the qualitative research methodology of surveys, responses from stakeholders of different levels in the education industry has been analysed. More specifically, the areas of corporate reputation analysed were stakeholders’ management, stakeholder communication, Integrating Stakeholder Management and Communication to become Stakeholder Engagement, corporate reputation, image and identity and reputation and trust. From the analysed survey, it was found that engagement through actions of the organisations towards its stakeholders creates value and trust as two-way symmetrical communication for greater decision making.

This article provides a multilayered theorization of labour unionism's relationship to participation in order to provide the basis for examining unions' experience of, and response to, participation. This requires an exposition of the broad parameters of the relationship between labour unionism and participation before examining the conceptual implications of these parameters. In doing so, participation is defined broadly as the reality, rhetoric, and aspiration of worker involvement in task determination as well as contributing to higher-level, decision-making processes concerning the employment relationship, enterprise, and markets, whether coming from workers, employers, or states. This then concerns, with varying degrees of depth and breadth, direct and indirect participation at different levels of employing organizations and over an array of subjects. In essence, the focus of the article is on bilateral arenas of engagement between workers and employer representatives that are not formally and conceptually predicated on the involvement of any third parties.

We examined Chinese adolescents’ aspirations and explored the relationship between relative intrinsic aspirations (RIA) and prosocial behaviors and whether adolescents with different levels of RIA have different emphases on self- and other-oriented considerations during prosocial decision making. In Study 1, 236 participants were recruited and completed a questionnaire containing the Aspiration Index and Prosocial Tendencies Measure. The results show that RIA are positively associated with adolescents’ prosocial behaviors. In Study 2, 158 adolescents completed a questionnaire containing the Aspiration Index and measurements of prosocial decision making and considerations in prosocial decision making. To some extent, adolescents with a lower level of RIA have a greater emphasis on self-oriented considerations, whereas adolescents with a higher level of RIA have a greater emphasis on other-oriented considerations. In addition, both studies suggest that Chinese adolescents value intrinsic aspirations above extrinsic ones.

Abstract Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) policies, which aim to redefine how antibiotics are used, reshape the veterinary profession’s relationships in at least two ways. The policies can give state veterinarians greater power over practising veterinarians and thus change the relationship between the profession and the government supposed to regulate it. The policies also call for coordination with other relevant professionals, mainly in the areas of human medicine and food safety, which can limit the veterinary profession’s autonomous decision-making. Based on a survey of veterinarians working at different levels of the administration and their non-veterinary colleagues in Switzerland, it is shown that AMR policies, by strengthening the administration’s planning and supervisory functions, do contribute to increased state control of the veterinary profession. However, this shift is limited because implementing the policies requires negotiating with representatives of the profession.

The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between athletes' attentional styles as measured by Nideffer's (1976 a, b) Test of Attentional and Interpersonal Style and a performance component, decision making. More making abilities and then divided into good, average, and poor decision makers. It was hypothesized that good, relative to average, and poor decision makers would display a more positive “scan” factor (higher BET, BIT, INFP scales) and a more adequate “focus” factor (low OET, and OIT, but high NAR scales). Results from the analyses of variance revealed no significant differences among the three groups. Furthermore, a discriminant analysis on the good and poor decision makers revealed no clear picture. The present results support Van Schoyck and Grasha's (1981) conclusion that the Test of Attentional and Interpersonal Styles does not seem to be sensitive enough to pick up differences in attentional style between performers of different levels.

Evidence accumulation is a computational framework that accounts for behavior as well as the dynamics of individual neurons involved in decision making. Linking these two levels of description reveals a scaling paradox: How do choices and response times (RT) explained by models assuming single accumulators arise from a large ensemble of idiosyncratic accumulator neurons? We created a simulation model that makes decisions by aggregating across ensembles of accumulators, thereby instantiating the essential structure of neural ensembles that make decisions. Across different levels of simulated choice difficulty and speed-accuracy emphasis, choice proportions and RT distributions simulated by the ensembles are invariant to ensemble size and the accumulated evidence at RT is invariant across RT when the accumulators are at least moderately correlated in either baseline evidence or rates of accumulation and when RT is not governed by the most extreme accumulators. To explore the relationship between the low-level ensemble accumulators and high-level cognitive models, we fit simulated ensemble behavior with a standard LBA model. The standard LBA model generally recovered the core accumulator parameters (particularly drift rates and residual time) of individual ensemble accumulators with high accuracy, with variability parameters of the standard LBA modulating as a function of various ensemble parameters. Ensembles of accumulators also provide an alternative conception of speed-accuracy tradeoff without relying on varying thresholds of individual accumulators, instead by adjusting how ensembles of accumulators are aggregated or by how accumulators are correlated within ensembles. These results clarify relationships between neural and computational accounts of decision making.

This study analyzes the process of corporate reputation (CR) propagation. We consider that different positions play different roles via social word of mouth (sWOM). In essence, our interest lies in the following question: how does sWOM affect the process of CR propagation? As a benchmark, we develop a dynamic model to reflect the factors and laws influencing corporate reputation propagation. We find that the stability of the system is not what corporations want to see in the propagation of positive CR after analyzing two basic reproduction numbers and conducting a numerical simulation. Another important finding is that stability is what corporations expect in the propagation of negative CR. This study makes the logical analysis of the relationship between CR and consumer loyalty more complete and helps us to clearly understand the overall process of CR propagation. The study provides a new way to analyze the law of CR propagation and can provide a reference for decision-making for corporations.

The transition to parenthood can be viewed as the result of social interaction. It signifies the outcome of a decision-making process of two individuals in a relationship. Nevertheless, little research has, so far, looked into how the interpersonal couple level influences the decision. What needs to be considered here is, firstly, the relative importance of both partners’ desire to have a child, or the partners’ disposition towards reproduction. Secondly, the reciprocal influence ,of both partners on each other within the decision-making process, and thirdly the relevance of both partners’ biographical background with regard to their respective decisions and disposition must be assessed. In this article, a nonlinear simultaneous probit model is introduced, with the help of which the relative effects of the decisionmaking process within the relationship can be estimated. The analysis is based on the “Bamberg Married Couples Panel”. The results of the model show an equal influence of both partners’ dispositions on the decision itself. However, they also demonstrate different levels of influence of the partners within the process of interaction and convergence.

Purpose Hearing loss self-management refers to the knowledge and skills people use to manage the effects of hearing loss on all aspects of their daily lives. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-reported hearing loss self-management and hearing aid benefit and satisfaction. Method Thirty-seven adults with hearing loss, all of whom were current users of bilateral hearing aids, participated in this observational study. The participants completed self-report inventories probing their hearing loss self-management and hearing aid benefit and satisfaction. Correlation analysis was used to investigate the relationship between individual domains of hearing loss self-management and hearing aid benefit and satisfaction. Results Participants who reported better self-management of the effects of their hearing loss on their emotional well-being and social participation were more likely to report less aided listening difficulty in noisy and reverberant environments and greater satisfaction with the effect of their hearing aids on their self-image. Participants who reported better self-management in the areas of adhering to treatment, participating in shared decision making, accessing services and resources, attending appointments, and monitoring for changes in their hearing and functional status were more likely to report greater satisfaction with the sound quality and performance of their hearing aids. Conclusion Study findings highlight the potential for using information about a patient's hearing loss self-management in different domains as part of clinical decision making and management planning.

Abstract. Based on responses from 158 reward managers located at the headquarters or subsidiaries of multinational enterprises, the present study examines the relationship between the centralization of reward management decision making and its perceived effectiveness in multinational enterprises. Our results show that headquarters managers perceive a centralized approach as being more effective, while for subsidiary managers this relationship is moderated by the manager’s role identity. Referring to social identity theory, the present study enriches the standardization versus localization debate through a new perspective focusing on psychological processes, thereby indicating the importance of in-group favoritism in headquarters and the influence of subsidiary managers’ role identities on reward management decision making.
