The present study attempts to examine the competence of descriptive writing skills of the Eighth Grade of Junior High School in the Sumbawa District. The study employed virtual technology as a teaching medium. The quantitative descriptive research design was applied to collect pre-test and post-test data. The tests were descriptive text writing. The effectiveness of the virtual technology was measured by comparing pre-test, post-test, and paired samples t-test. Based on the data analysis result, it is evident that the virtual technology was significant for the eighth grade of Junior High Schools Lopok in the Sumbawa District.

This research aimed to find out the teaching skill of Islamic Religious Education teachers wowen , the result of the students’ learning outcome, and the relation between the teachers’ women skill andthe students’ learning outcome at Muhammadiyah junior high school Limbung, Bajeng District, Gowa Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the relation between the teachers’women teaching skill and the learning outcomes of the students at Muhammadiyah junior high school Limbung, Bajeng District, Gowa Regency. This study applied quantitative descriptive research method. The population of the study was all of 3 teachers women and all students as many as 362 people. In addition, the sampeling technique in selecting the teacherswas Saturated sampling while the 34 samples from the students were selected using Random Samplin technique.. The instruments implemented in this study were questionnaires, interview guides, and documentation with inferential statistical analysis using Proudact Moment correlation techniques. The result of the research showed that the teaching skill of the teacher of Islamic education was 26,058 which was categorized as skillful, the result of students' learning outcome was 8,411 which was categorized as high, while the result of the data analysis obtained was r = 1.344. Hence, it was revealed that the relationship between the teaching skills of the teacher women of Islamic religious education and the learning outcome of the students at Muhammadiyah junior high school Limbung was categorized as very high.

The objective of this study was to investigate whether Group Investigation increased first-grade students’ descriptive writing at Raman Siriwit Junior High School, Thailand. This study is quantitative were pre-test and post-test used to collect the data. The writers applied a t-test to analyze the data. Based on the Equal variance column, in obtained t-count scores is 11.808 by computing table scores n1 + n1-2 = 23 + 23 - 2 = 44, then obtained t-table score is 2.05 and significant score is 0.000. Because the score of t-count is 11.808> t-table 2.05 and the significant score is 0.000 <α = 0.05, so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that the pretest writing score compared to the posttest writing score is different. This means that there are significant differences in writing pretest scores with posttest scores after the Group Investigation method. Group Investigation increased first-grade students’ descriptive writing at Raman Siriwit Junior High School, Thailand.

This study aims at investigating the effect of peer review on students’ writing ability and the students’ perceptions toward the use of peer review technique in writing class. This is an experimental research by involving 62 EFL students of eighth graders of a Junior High School in Malang, Indonesia. The data were obtained by conducting a writing (pre-test an post-test) and giving questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using quantitative descriptive statistics. The qualitative data expressed descriptively about students perceptions toward using peer review technique in writing acitvity. The findings shows that the students in experimental group who were taught by using peer review technique got better achievement in writing ability than the students in control group who were taught by using self-assessment strategy. The use of peer review technique in writing class makes the class less anxious and more enjoyable. The students are enthusiastic so that the class become more student-centered. The students are able to interact each other in giving comments and suggestions to reduce mistakes in terms of global and local issues to make better subsequent of writing product. In addition, the result of questionnaire shows that the students have positive attitudes toward the use peer review technique in writing class.

This study aims to: (1) look for the highest and lowest values in number and algebraic material of Junior High School in East Lombok, (2) the percentage of errors made by students when answering math problems, and (3) the diagnosis of student’s misconception in doing number and algebra at Junior High School in East Lombok. This research is a quantitative- descriptive research. For the sampling technique, this study used purposive sampling. The test was conducted in five classes with 200 students as research participants. The sampling took into account the level of students’ ability and school readiness. The sampling size is 361 students from five schools. The data were in the form of students’ responses and those were analyzed using the Quest program. The results of this study are as follows. First, in terms of the difficulty index, 40 items (47%) are easy category items, 8% are medium category items, and 45% are difficult category items. Out of the 40 problems, 82% of the items have good difficulty index, while 18% are not good. Of the four alternative answers, 88% of the distractor is in a good category, and 12% are not good. Second, based on the students’ answers, the percentage of error is 52 %. Third, based on the result of the analysis using the Quest program, of the tow materials, the biggest misconception is in number with the percentage of 68%. The dominant error is in the indicator representing fractions in various forms, with a percentage of 22%.

The present study is an attempt to examine the competence of vocabulary of the Eighth Grade of Junior High School in the Sumbawa District. The study used environment-based reading material. The study indicates the levels of English vocabulary among 128 Grade 8 junior high school students in the Sumbawa District. The EFL learners of Sumbawa District were divided into four environment-based groups, namely; environment-based urban, represented by SMPN 2 Sumbawa (n=32), environment-based marine, represented by SMPN 4 Lab. Badas (n=32), environment-based urban, represented by SMPN 1 Moyo Hulu (n=32), and environment-based rural, represented by SMPN 1 Lopok (n=32). The quantitative descriptive research design was used to collect data pre- and post-test. The tests were multiple-choice, using environment-based reading material. Effectiveness was measured by comparing pre-test, post-test, and paired samples t-test. Based on the result of data analysis, it is evident that the Environment-based reading material was significant for Grade 8 of Junior High Schools in the Sumbawa District. Students who participated in an environmentally based reading program recorded an increased competency when compared with students outside the program.

This research aimed to describe how picture series medium can increase the students’s writing skill for eighth grade at state junior high school 1 of Bintan. Classroom action research was the research design. The research comprised of two cycles with four meeting in the two cycles. A test was the main data of this research. Twenty students in VIII B at state junior high school 1 of Bintan, in the academic year of 019/2020 was the subject of this research. The outcome appeared there were upgrades in students’ writing skill. It tends to be seen from the outcome of each post-test in the two cycles. Students’ test average in cycle 1 was 63.57. Students’ test average in second cycle was 68.87. It means picture series medium could help students in improving their writing skill.

The aim of this study is to improve students’ ability in writing narrative text in English by using picture series media. The object of this study is the Eighth grade students of one-roof Junior High School Teratak Baru Kuantan Hilir district. This study used the quantitative classroom action research which was carried out in 2 cycles, in this study the data collection technique used observation and tests (pre-test and post-test). The result of this study showed that there is an increasing in learning by students of eighth grade, consequently it can be concluded that by utilizing picture series media can improve students’ ability in writing English narrative text. It can be seen from the result of the average post-test in cycle 2 of 80 increased to85. The result of the observation showed that the teacher’s activities in teaching increased in both early condition in the cycle I and cycle II.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum maksimalnya pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani pada materi atletik dan belum diketahuinya minat siswa terhadap pembelajaran atletik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui minat siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Jenawi Kabupaten Karanganyar dalam mengikuti pembelajaran atletik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dekriptif kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII kecuali kelas VIII C karena dijadikan sebagai uji coba penelitian, dari 4 kelas dipilih 25 siswa dengan cara diundi, sehingga mendapatkan populasi sebanyak 100 siswa. Teknik analisis yang dilakukan adalah menuangkan frekuensi ke dalam bentuk persentase. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa minat siswa SMP Negeri 2 Jenawi Kabupaten Karanganyar kelas VIII terhadap pembelajaran atletik adalah cukup. Dengan pertimbangan frekuensi terbanyak berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 83,00%. Persentase minat siswa SMP Negeri 2 Jenawi Kabupaten Karanganyar kelas VIII terhadap pembelajaran atletik yang berkategori sangat tinggi adalah 0,00%, tinggi 11,00%, sedang 83,00%, kurang 6,00% dan sangat kurang 0,00%. Interest of students of class VIII junior high school on athletic learning Abstract.The background problem of this research because not maximal yet in physical education learning on athletic material and the students' interest in athletic learning was unknown yet. This research aimed to know the students’ interest in athletic learning at the eighth-grade students of SMP 2 Jenawi Karanganyar regency. This research was quantitative descriptive research. The method used in this research was survey method while the technique of collecting the data used questionnaire. The research subject was the whole of eighth-grade students except VIII C class because it was used as a research trial, from four classes was chosen 25 students randomly, it got a population of 100 students. The technique of analyzing the data used the frequency in the form of the percentage. The result of the research showed that students’ interest in athletic learning at the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Jenawi Karanganyar regency was enough. With consideration of the most frequency was enough with the percentage 83%. The percentage of students’ interest in athletic learning at the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Jenawi Karanganyar regency who had the highest category was 0,00%, high 11,00%, enough 83%, low 6,00% and the lowest was 0,00%.

This research investigated the effect of picture series technique to develop the students’ ability in expressing ideas in descriptive writing. It was a quasi – experimental research that involved two classes of samples, they are experimental class and control class. The population consisted of the second year students’ of Junior High School Number 14 Bengkulu in Academic Year 2008/2009. The experimental class was treated by picture series technique for one month, while the control class was taught by using the conventional technique. Both classes were given pre test before treatment. The average score of both classes were analyzed by using the t -test formula. T count was smaller than t table (0.126<2.000). It means that there was no significance difference between the experimental and the control class. In other words, those classes could be accepted as the samples for this research. Both classes were given a post test after them giving a treatment (by using picture series technique) for several times. The average scores both classes were calculated by using the t-test formula. T obtained was higher than t-table (4.054>2.000). The result showed that there was a significant difference in post test score average between the experimental class and the control class. It means that picture series technique could improve the Junior High School Students’ ability in expressing ideas in descriptive writing.

This research is based on the researcher's concern to the students who have not been able to adapt themselves in the school which is seen from the adjustment with the school rules, teachers, peers and facilities and infrastructure in the school. As students move from elementary school to junior high school they find it difficult to adapt. Data on student conformity is obtained through observation and interview.This study aims to describe students' self-adjustment in school. The sample in this study amounted to 210 students. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The results of this study indicate that students' self adjustment is generally categorized as good. Furthermore, based on the adjustment indicator with good rules, the indicators of adjustment with the teacher is good, adjustment indicators with peers are good and adjustment indicators based on facilities and infrastructure are also good.
