In Taiwan, courses in the current online learning environment enroll at least 40-100 students, and it is difficult for teachers to manage the learning situation of each student. The proposed system treats learning portfolio, knowledge structure, and ability indicator of students as the key points of learning situations. The system integrates the information into the same framework and interface to acquire overall information of students. The learning activities in the proposed system include three stages: self-learning stage, mutual learning stage and guidance stage. This study adopted Multi-Phase Guided Remedial Learning Strategy in a learning evaluation. The learning evaluation yields positive experimental results. The evaluation shows that the proposed learning activities are effective for students learning.

Teaching information literacy has always been a challenging issue to tackle. Classical teaching and learning activities require students to sit, to read, to understand and to be able to answer questions to meet the minimum accomplishment criteria. To undergo joyful learning, this board-based learning experience has enabled the teacher to manifest varied teaching strategies despite the limited resources and also to facilitate students to develop their reading, communication, and social skills. The findings of this study indicate that this experience has represented positive impacts toward the improvement of students’ information literacy interest and academic results. Not only relatively livelier learning experience, it has stimulated students to use mind map strategy to locate keywords and to link them with details in an informational text, resulting in the progress of the individual score progress by average which reached 21.67 points. Special notes should be addressed to the teachers or other practitioners that we should always give attention to students to find ways to connect main ideas, supporting ideas and blend them into the context. As the conclusion, the teacher should be able to enhance their teaching skill by integrating any teaching strategies.

Self-regulated learners manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and their social and contextual environments to reach their learning goals. Research shows that student teachers can learn to teach in ways that promote students’ development of SRL. It has also been shown that there is a relationship between teachers’ own SRL and their ability to develop self-regulation in students. This study examined student teachers’ developing concepts of SRL as they learned about this complex set of skills, behaviours, and beliefs through both coursework and field observations. This paper investigates the relationship between self-reported SRL of these teachers and their understanding of SRL behaviours and SRL-supportive teaching practices. Participants’ self-reported learning strategy scores predicted their performance on an SRLclassroom observation assignment while motivation scores were unrelated. These results contribute to our growing knowledge of how to support student teachers in their learning of teaching strategies that support the development of SRL.

Music cannot be separated from its historical, geographical, and cultural context; therefore, it is important that students be taught music from a variety of genres, cultures, and historical periods relevant to the music to which they are introduced. In this article, I introduce an interdisciplinary approach through contextualization of the content of music, using it to lead to the study of related works in various disciplines. Using a song inspired by Indonesia’s Solo River, a lesson sample demonstrates teaching strategies that motivate students to engage in integrative thinking. By exploring music’s connection with relevant subjects to teach about the natural environment, this contextualized lesson presents a global learning experience to broaden students’ knowledge of the world. Contextualizing the content of Bengawan Solo illustrates how history and culture shaped the song and demonstrates how this work can be used as a springboard for students’ exploration of its history, geography, and ecology.

Background: An 8-month rotation programme was implemented for five nurses employed in two kinds of children's palliative care environments: hospital wards and hospices. This study reports the views of the nurses completing the rotation. The research drew on appreciative inquiry and involved a pre- and post-rotation interview and questionnaire. Thematic analysis of the interviews revealed seven themes: adjusting to the rotation programme; support mechanisms; being safe; new knowledge and skills; knowledge exchange; misconceptions; future plans. These were supported by the questionnaire findings. Although the nurses identified some frustration at having to undertake competency assessments relating to previously acquired skills, as well as being out of their ‘comfort zone’, all the participants highly recommended the programme. They commented very positively on the support they received and the overall learning experience as well as the new insight into different aspects of care. In addition, they were able to share their newfound knowledge and expertise with others.
