The purpose of this study was to determine the needs analysis for online learning in the Basics of Sports Education course during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The application of online lectures on the basics of sports education for all 9 classes using the Online System (Sipda) accompanied by google classroom and whatsapp gorup media as written communication. The use of google meet and zoom applications as direct communication via video conference. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study design. The instrument used is the learning activity rubric, which is to review the google classroom lecture tools and face-to-face lectures via zoom. The validity of the applied data is through a process of credibility and dependability. Based on data collection, it is obtained that the percentage of interaction via video conference is higher than the use of other media. Information is corroborated by students who are very willing to apply the lecture system which is shown by 100% or all students submit assignments and 98% submit on time. The assignment is then adjusted to the KKNI curriculum, namely by uploading the assignment on YouTube and other social media with reference to books or journals. The conclusions obtained from the results of the needs analysis study found based on the lecture process on the basics of sports education are 1) lectures are applied by direct communication (via video conference) or through direct instruction from the lecturer, 2) it is necessary to assign assignments with video students practice the subject material (uploaded on youtube); 3) Reflection at each meeting as a measure of the success of the meeting; 4) provide reinforcement of the weaknesses experienced by students, namely regulations that have tolerance for students who have network difficulties.

This chapter explores the early development stages of an interactive interprofessional online learning package that updates and supports health and social care professionals who mentor students in practice settings. The package aims to present content that is relevant and useful to fourteen different disciplines accessing it. A benefit of online content is that learning can be undertaken when convenient for the mentor, 24 hours a day-7 days a week, with the facility to stop and restart as needed. Additionally the package is constructed so both individuals and groups can use it; this both meets a regulatory body’s requirement for having a face-to-face update every year, and provides support for interprofessional learning between mentors from different disciplines.

This study aims to determine the implementation of online learning and the obstacles that faced by lecturers and students at the Universitas Kristen Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic. Changes to online learning nationally are new in Indonesia, including at the Universitas Kristen Indonesia. So far, face to face learning dominates. Online learning at UKI was done briefly and partially, without proper preparation, socialization and provision to lecturers and students. Respondents who contributed to the online learning survey at UKI were 621 students and five lecturers. The findings showed that what was conducted on students and lecturers, turned out that there were no optimal supporting media to facilitated online learning, student quota was limited, students were also bored with online lectures. Some students did not have the media necessary for online learning. From the lecturers’ side, it turned out that not all lecturers understood using the Teams media, zoom and also did not understand the features in it. The positive thing that students get from online learning: more courageous in communicating with fellow students and lecturers. The obstacles that detected are followed up by helping lecturers and students, providing quota assistance for students, tuition fees were paid with lenient payments, providing assistance from alumni and other assistance to support the students. And, for lecturers, assistance was provided even though the implementation was partial.

This chapter explores through a case study approach of a tertiary-level unit on Land Assessment for Sustainable Use, the connections between three key elements of learning—learning outcomes, learning design, and learning objects—in the context of problem based learning conducted in an online environment. At the “heart” of learning is the achievement of learning outcomes guided pedagogically by the learning design (“head”) with the support of well-designed, pedagogically-sound learning objects (“hands”). All the students participating in this case study were undertaking the unit as off-campus or “distance” students, either at under- or post-graduate level. This chapter defines the use of learning objects and learning design in a problem based learning context. Primary evidence is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the problem based learning design and integrated learning objects in facilitating learning outcomes when students communicated online on discussion boards within a course management system (WebCT) under two circumstances: one, as a collective group (2001-2003) before face-to-face instruction and practice in problem based learning; and two, in small groups (2004-2006) after receiving face-to-face instruction and practice in problem based learning. Improved student participation rates and quantity and quality of online student interactions on discussion boards seemed to be the consequence of early scaffolding of student learning through face-to-face instruction and practice in the problem-based learning activity, as well as working in small peer groups for subsequent discussion board activity. Overall there seemed to be improved student comprehension of and interaction with the learning design and learning objects in the small group experience of the problem based learning activity, which resulted in a more fulfilling and robust form of learning.

In order to prevent transmission of Covid-19, the government and universities agreed to temporarily stop face-to-face lectures and replace them with distance learning in the form of online lectures. Even so, the implementation of distance learning in the form of online lectures has different characteristics from face-to-face lectures, because the role of students in online learning is far greater than the role of students in face-to-face lectures so that they require self-directed learning readiness from students so that distance learning is done can be effective. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on students' self-directed learning readiness in attending online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used in this study is a survey, a survey conducted on 78 students. The results showed that students 'self-directed learning readiness was still at a moderate stage, so it was necessary to make an effort to identify students' self-directed learning needs and to arrange a more complete online learning schedule.

The majority of universities in South Africa offer face-to-face lectures, resulting in the neglect of online lectures, although learning management systems (LMS) have been adopted and are capable of supporting onlinelearning (e-learning). The coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) forced universities to move fully online and to adopt Video Conferencing Technologies (VCT) to supplement LMS for e-learning. However, most students confront challenges related to a digital divide, raising the question of whether universities are able to address these effectively. This study explored students’ reflections on the use of the Zoom VCT for e-learning at a SouthAfrican university. An interpretive qualitative case study was conducted, with data generated using emailed reflective activities and Zoom focus group discussions with 26 students in a curriculum studies programme. The framework of connectivism was employed and the data were thematically analysed. The study found that Internet access was a major challenge. While most students enjoyed synchronous Zoom discussions, they wereunable to use other Zoom functions for effective engagement. It is thus recommended that the university should develop an e-learning policy and provide the necessary resources and training to students in order to ensure fitness for purpose. Key words: students’ reflections, Zoom VCT, e-learning, face-to-face, curriculum, university

Teaching and learning process since the pandemic time has shifted away from the traditional face to face classroom into online distance learning, and this will be undergo in the post pandemic. This case study aimed to investigate the effectiveness use of the combined modes of synchronous and asynchronous in e- language learning for university students. While both types of that learning approach have its importance in different scenario. The research questions to be answered in the study was how the adoption of synchronous (discussion activity platform) and asynchronous (learning content platform) would be more effective in e- language learning. 55 university participants from the second semester of English Department who joined the online creative writing class in synchronous and asynchronous language learning activity received the survey questionnaire as the sampling of the collected data. The data from the interview was also obtained to get the learners insights regarding the course experiences. The results showed that the applying of the combination approach in online learning has been greatly effective in helping the learners in terms of the community interaction and  material engagement. Moreover, the learners’ response about the using blended mode of synchronous and asynchronous for their learning is very positive. Some suggestions to enfold the problems over the online learning  are also provided.

Article talks about student center learning theory related to face-to-face learning at class, how its implementation in the class, and the best practice related to learning activity to increase student center learning. There are some activities that could be done in the process of learning that support student center learning, including group discussion. Advantages in the effective group discussion are the increasing of their understanding towards discussed material and the increasing of social relationship among them. This is assumed to have positive impact to learning process, that is increasing knowledge constructivism and student individual, especially from social behavior. Thus in implementing the effective group discussion is a challenge to lecturers in high numbered student class.
