The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between teachers’ fear of missing out (FoMO) levels and their cyberloafing behaviour and to reveal whether teachers’ FoMO and their cyberloafing behaviour differ according to their gender. The sample of the research consisted of 702 secondary school teachers working in state schools within the borders of Istanbul in 2019-2020 education year. According to the research, it was identified that the level of teachers’ FoMO levels and cyberloafing behaviours were moderate. It was detected that teachers’ FoMO levels differed significantly according to gender. With this result, male teachers’ FoMO levels were higher than female teachers’ FoMO levels. Similarly, it was observed that there was a significant difference between teachers’ cyberloafing behaviour and gender. According to this result, it was found that male teachers’ mean score of cyberloafing behaviour was higher than female teachers’ mean score of cyberloafing behaviour in all sub-scales. In addition, a positive significant relationship between teachers’ FoMO and their cyberloafing behaviour was observed.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship of Teacher effectiveness among Secondary school teachers of Government and Private sector in relation to their type of the institution and gender. A sample of 160 (80 Male Teachers and 80 Female Teachers) was carried out from govt. schools and private school of Ahmedabad Districts. Data was collected using by Teacher Effectiveness scale by Dr. Parmod Kumar and D.N.Mutha (1985). The data were analyzed by using t-test. The Results revealed that significant deference observed between teacher effectiveness of Government and Private Secondary school teachers, Teacher Effectiveness more in Private Secondary School Teachers. It is also found that, significant difference in Government and Private Female Secondary School teachers and the private Female teacher’s Effectiveness is more. Also the result shows that Government Secondary School Teachers have more Teachers effectiveness than Private Secondary School Female Teachers Male and Female private school teachers.

The present study attempts to compare teacher effectiveness, general intelligence and creativity of secondary school teachers in relation to gender and type of school. The sample for the study consisted of 850 secondary school teachers of Punjab. The findings of the study revealed that there is no significant difference in teacher effectiveness of male and female secondary school teachers. The significant main effect of type of school is independent of gender groups, i.e. government school teachers are effective both in case of male and female groups of school teachers. There is significant difference in general intelligence of male and female secondary school teachers, female teachers being more intelligent as compared to male teachers, both in case of government and private schools. The results also show that male teachers of private secondary schools are more creative than female teachers of private secondary schools but not in case of government secondary schools. Government school teachers are significantly high on creativity than private school teachers only in case of female group and not in case of male teachers. Teacher effectiveness is positively and significantly related with general intelligence and creativity among secondary school teachers.

In the present investigation, an attempt has been made to study and compare the Professional Commitment of secondary school teachers, to study and compare the Self-efficacy of secondary school teachers and to find out the relationship between Professional Commitment and Self-efficacy of secondary school teachers. A sample of 100 teacher educators working in government schools of district Ganderbal was selected through Purposive sampling technique. Professional Commitment Scale for teacher educators by Sood (2011) and Teacher Self-efficacy scale by Ralf Schwarzer, Gerdamarie S.Schmitz and Gary T. Dayter (1999) were used for data collection. Mean, SD and t-test were used to compare the professional commitment of male and female secondary school teachers and to compare self-efficacy of male and female secondary school teachers. Pearson’s correlation was applied to find out the relationship between Professional Commitment and Self-efficacy of secondary school teachers. The findings of the study revealed that female secondary school teachers have higher professional commitment as compare as to male secondary school teachers. No significant difference was found in the Self-efficacy of secondary school teachers and significant positive correlation was found between Professional Commitment and Self-efficacy of secondary school teachers.

In the present study, an attempt has been made to understand the relationship between teacher effectiveness and temperament. Descriptive survey method of research was used for this study. The sample consisted of 427 secondary school teachers, which were randomly selected. Teacher Effectiveness and Gender constituted the independent classificatory variables while Temperament was criterion variable. Teacher Effectiveness Scale (TES) prepared by Kumar and Mutha (1974) and Dimensions of Temperament Scale (DTS) by Chadha and Chandana (1984) were used to collect data from the teachers. For testing the hypotheses, two-way-analysis of variance technique was employed. The analysis revealed that most effective teachers were found to be higher on three traits of temperament i.e. 'Ascendant', 'Accepting' and 'Tolerance' than least effective teachers. Gender differences were found on two temperaments viz. 'Cooperative' and 'Warmth'.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to investigate how degree-holding secondary school teachers cope in a recessive economy by embracing hybrid entrepreneurship (HE). Specifically, we investigated how comparison with referent others, underemployment and relative deprivation led to HE.Design/methodology/approachThe study adopted a cross-sectional research design. We used snowball and purposive sampling techniques to recruit 303 bachelor’s degree holders teaching in Nigerian public secondary schools in two states of the federation (Ondo and Ekiti states). We analyzed the data with regression path analysis and controlled for age and gender.FindingsThe results of this study showed the following. First, teachers were high in the feeling of pay underemployment and relative deprivation. Second, pay underemployment and relative deprivation directly led to HE. Third, teachers were indirectly high in HE through either pay underemployment or relative deprivation. Finally, underemployment and relative deprivation serially mediate the relationship between referent others and HE.Research limitations/implicationsOverall, the results suggest that teachers’ involvement in HE is necessity-driven to cope with the recessive Nigerian economy. However, future research should focus on a more experimental approach to determine the cause-effect relationship.Originality/valueThis is the first study to investigate how workers embrace HE to cope with the consequences of a recessive economy.

Teaching effectiveness means perfection, optimum level of efficiency and productivity on the part of the teacher. It refers to the height of maturity and learning that teachers grows with experience and learns more and more. This study was conducted on 148 teachers selected randomly from 8 secondary schools located in Bareilly District of Uttar Pradesh. The data was collected by self made teaching effectiveness scale. This scale consists of 38 items of 6 dimensions. Collected data was analysed using statistical techniques such as mean, standard deviation and t-test. The study revealed that there is significant difference between the teaching effectiveness of male and female teachers working in secondary school. But no significant difference was found teaching effectiveness of CBSE Board female and UP Board female teachers and CBSE Board male and UP Board male teachers working in secondary schools.

The present research attempts to study the relationship between the organizational commitment and job burnout of secondary school teachers. The sample for the present study consisted of 200 secondary school teachers selected randomly. Two questionnaires were chosen to collect the data. The collected data were analyzed through SPSS software, and proper statistical methods like mean, t-test and Pearson Correlation coefficient were used. The findings of the study revealed that there is no significant difference in the organizational commitment mean scores of male and female secondary school teachers, i.e., both the groups measure similar to organizational commitment. It was also announced that there is a significant correlation between the organizational commitment and job burnout of secondary school teachers, which means that higher the organizational commitment, the higher will be the job burnout and vice versa.

This study aimed at exploring the perception of secondary school teachers for the importance of implementing the Ivan Illich's Deschooling principles in the educational learning process in Jordan. For that the researchers adopted the descriptive analysis methodology through the use of the questionnaire as a study tool on a sample of (100) secondary school teachers in the three regions of Jordan (Middle Region, North Region and South Region). The study concluded that there is no significant difference between the levels of educational qualification and gender at the level of (α=0.05) in the degree of secondary school teachers' perception of the importance of applying the Deschooling principles of Ivan Illich in the educational learning process. And the researchers recommended that to re-examine the objectives of education in the light of a renewed vision for sustainable human and social development that is equitable and can be applied together, and in this vision we should take into account the social, environmental and economic dimensions of the comprehensive development processes and linking them to education processes.

<em>The purpose of the study was to explore the work motivation among secondary school teachers. The table revealed that 23.67% secondary school teachers have low level of work motivation, 47% secondary school teachers have average level of work motivation and 29.33% secondary school teachers have high level of work motivation. 20% female teachers have low level of work motivation, 48% female teachers have average level of work motivation and 32% female secondary school teachers have high level of work motivation. Similarly 27.33% male secondary school teachers have low level of work motivation, 46% male secondary school teachers have average level of work motivation and 26.67% male secondary school teachers have high level of work motivation. 12% government secondary school teachers have low level of work motivation, 49.33% government secondary school teachers have average level of work motivation and 16% government secondary school teachers have high level of work motivation. Similarly 35.33% private secondary school teachers have low level of work motivation, 44.67% private secondary school teachers have average level of work motivation and 20% private secondary school teachers have high level of work motivation. There was no significant difference in the work motivation of male and female secondary school teachers. There was significant difference in the work motivation of government and private secondary school teachers.</em>

In this paper, the investigator indicates the emotional intelligence plays an important role in life and contributes to the personal and social development of an individual. There is something beyond the intellectual capacity, which determines the success of a person. A survey of the study of emotional intelligence of the higher secondary school teachers should be analyzed and the investigator has launched the investigation. The sample was limited to 350 higher secondary school teachers only. The study was restricted to higher secondary Teachers only. The study was restricted to Chengalpattu Educational District only. Only the survey method is used to collect data. The Emotional Intelligence Inventory tool was used in the study. The tool was designed and developed by Thomas Alexander (2004). The investigator used the ‘test-retest’ method in establishing the reliability of the tool on emotional intelligence. The responses of both the test and retest were scored and the Correlation Coefficient of 0.74 was found between the test and retest. The means score value of male teachers 55.15 and the means score value of female teachers is 56.64. The table value 1.96 is lesser than the calculated value t value. There is no significant difference between male and female higher secondary school Teachers in their Emotional Intelligence. Hence the null hypothesis is accepted. Teachers also should have proper training in developing their Emotional Intelligence and in improving their Social attachment.
