Purpose Physicians worldwide need to be able to identify and assess suicide risk or behavior in their consults. The proper training of medical staff is an important form of suicide prevention, especially because 80% of the patients who died by suicide were in contact with a health-care service in the year of their death. The purpose of this study is to verify if some of the most important Brazilian medical schools includes discussions regarding suicide in their curricula, and describe them. Design/methodology/approach The study performed a documentary analysis of all Brazilian federal higher education institutions. The analysis involved selecting the institutions that approached the topic of suicide in their curricula, and sorting it by keywords. The curricula that contained such keywords were then entirely read, analyzed and all components found were described regarding course period, workload and approach. Findings Within the 68 analyzed institutions, 19 (28%) included suicide in their curricula with a total of 31 components approaching suicide among them. Those components belonged to different stages of the course and had different workloads and approaches. A total of seven different approaches were identified: Clinical (54.8%); Emergency (16.1%); Medical Psychology (9.7%); Ethics (6.5%); Social (6.5%); Occupational (3.2%) and Forensic (3.2%). Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, the study is the first to address medical education regarding suicide in a large number of Brazilian institutions. It is also one of the few studies worldwide to quantify suicide discussion on a large number of institutions using documentary analysis.

Abstract There always have been some hurdles when it comes to the adequate use of didactical experimental activities in science education, such as the lack of proper training, insufficient time, and inadequate infrastructure. At this very moment, the pandemic has taught us that there may be also circumstances in which the traditional laboratory and the traditional activities are just not possible, thus online operable experiments might constitute a viable alternative for the practical lessons in higher education. In this paper, we discuss the development and the implementation of a remote-controlled didactical experiment on Standing Waves largely used in the physics basic program offered to the engineering courses. The development has combined applied knowledge from different areas, i.e. electric and electronics engineering, and computer science. In order to ascertain the experiment consistency, we have gathered data from the wave propagation speed and from the corresponding tension applied to the string and performed a χ-square linear fit in order to determine the correlation between the logarithm of both parameters. The experiment was successfully implemented and has been accessed by hundreds of different users from more than 30 different countries ever since. It has also been largely employed in practical activities at the university and has shown no significant signs of instability. It exhibited a total latency time inferior to 0.8 seconds on average and the results drawn from data it provides have shown to be accurate, within less than 0.8% of deviation with respect to the theoretical results.

AbstractBreast tumors are from the common infections among women around the world. Classifying the various types of breast tumors contribute to treating breast tumors more efficiently. However, this classification task is often hindered by dense tissue patterns captured in mammograms. The present study has been proposed a dense tissue pattern characterization framework using deep neural network. A total of 322 mammograms belonging to the mini-MIAS dataset and 4880 mammograms from DDSM dataset have been taken, and an ROI of fixed size 224 × 224 pixels from each mammogram has been extracted. In this work, tedious experimentation has been executed using different combinations of training and testing sets using different activation function with AlexNet, ResNet-18 model. Data augmentation has been used to create a similar type of virtual image for proper training of the DL model. After that, the testing set is applied on the trained model to validate the proposed model. During experiments, four different activation functions ‘sigmoid’, ‘tanh’, ‘ReLu’, and ‘leakyReLu’ are used, and the outcome for each function has been reported. It has been found that activation function ‘ReLu’ perform always outstanding with respect to others. For each experiment, classification accuracy and kappa coefficient have been computed. The obtained accuracy and kappa value for MIAS dataset using ResNet-18 model is 91.3% and 0.803, respectively. For DDSM dataset, the accuracy of 92.3% and kappa coefficient value of 0.846 are achieved. After the combination of both dataset images, the achieved accuracy is 91.9%, and kappa coefficient value is 0.839 using ResNet-18 model. Finally, it has been concluded that the ResNet-18 model and ReLu activation function yield outstanding performance for the task.

Tremendous improvements in information networking capabilities have brought with them increased security risks resulting from the deterioration of the ability of a physical layer of computer security to protect an organization's information system. As a result, audit committees have had to deal with new security issues as well as the need to understand the cyber perpetrator and ensure the proper training of employees to consider cybersecurity risks. Standard setters including the Institute of Internal Auditors and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants have issued guidance about lines of defense and reporting on an entity's cybersecurity risk management program and controls, respectively. Each of these topics is considered along with how cybersecurity guidance from COBIT, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Center for Internet Security can be mapped into five cyber infrastructure domains to provide an approach to evaluate a system of cybersecurity.

Abstract Obtaining annotated data for proper training of AI image classifiers remains a challenge for successful deployment in industrial settings. As a promising alternative to handcrafted annotations, synthetic training data generation has grown in popularity. However, in most cases the pipelines used to generate this data are not of universal nature and have to be redesigned for different domain applications. This requires a detailed formulation of the domain through a semantic scene grammar. We aim to present such a grammar that is based on domain knowledge for the production-supplying transport of components in intralogistic settings. We present a use-case analysis for the domain of production supplying logistics and derive a scene grammar, which can be used to formulate similar problem statements in the domain for the purpose of data generation. We demonstrate the use of this grammar to feed a scene generation pipeline and obtain training data for an AI based image classifier.


One of the bank management concerns related to sales performance is ensuring sales people perform the sales process correctly. Unfortunately, most sales people have problems in the sales process, which causes their low performance. Islamic banks in Indonesia also experienced this situation, so a strategy needs to overcome this problem. For instance, using surveillance tools such as Sales Force Automation (SFA) with sales funnel theory. An SFA tool is a sales system connected to computers and internet networks. It monitors sales processes and results, manages contacts, forecasts sales, and analyzes sales performance daily and monthly. Additionally, it helps sales forces to measure the ability to achieve targets, plan sales strategies and customer approaches, and increase work motivation. Also, raise awareness of developing skills, and provide up-to-date information to supervisors about sales force performance to determine the proper training. Therefore, the use of SFA tools is expected to increase the productivity of sales people in optimizing the fulfillment of deposit targets in Islamic banking. This paper reports the SFA design in the form of a dashboard model with a visual sales to funnel that shows the function of the salesperson in conducting the sales process ends with the results.

Purpose:  The study was conducted with the aim to decipher knowledge, attitude and practice of diabetic retinopathy among MBBS students of a medical college. Study Design:  A cross sectional survey. Place and Duration of Study:  Dow Medical College, from October 2019 to March 2020. Methods:  A cross sectional study was conducted among 3rd and 4th year medical students. A total of 133 students were questioned through specific questionnaire. After informed consent, demographic details were noted. Apart from source of information of students’ knowledge, set of 14 questions were asked. In the first 7 questions information of knowledge of diabetic retinopathy was addressed. Four questions were about attitude and 3 regarding practice towards diabetic retinopathy. Windows MS Excel was used for quantitative and qualitative analysis. Results:  The mean of the overall KAP score for all students was 53.3 ± 1.2 (maximum, 70). Male students scored better in knowledge (24.8 vs 23.7) and attitude (17.3 vs 16.5). Students scored poor in identifying correct values of HbA1c and prevalence of diabetes in our country in the knowledge section. Students also lacked in identifying proper time of followup for screening of diabetic retinopathy. Many students thought uneducated people develop diabetic retinopathy earlier than educated. Conclusion:  Our study pointed out weakness in knowledge and practice of medical students regarding prevention and management of diabetic retinopathy. Proper training and teaching of students is required for improved management and counselling of diabetic retinopathy.

In order to ensure effective counteraction to contemporary security threats, maximum limitation of human losses, property and natural environment losses, a multi-level and multi-element system of crisis management has been organized in Poland, covering all levels of government and local government administration as well as specialist services, guards, separate inspections and non-governmental organisations. The effectiveness of this system, most of whose participants are not full-time employees, depends, among other things, on proper training and preparation of managerial staff. One of the most important contemporary methods of training and improvement of managerial staff is the method of “decision games”, which should be aimed at training the managers of crisis management systems in solving complex problems and shaping intellectual features that affect the efficiency of action and creative thinking of decision-makers, especially during the search for rational solutions to problems, in conditions of difficult to determine risk. This method has many advantages, including the possibility of implementing theoretical knowledge about crisis management into practical solutions, practising in conditions which decision-makers may encounter in reality, the coverage of practically the whole area of decision-making in crisis management, or the implementation of the acquired knowledge and skills into practical actions but on “paper” in conditions free from the risk of human losses or property or natural environment losses due to wrong decisions.

Union Digital Centers (UDCs) have changed not just how government services are delivered, but also how entrepreneurs (UDDOKTA) live. This study appraises the demographic status of entrepreneurs of Union Digital Centers in Bangladesh. This study is based on a mixed approach to social research. Data were collected from 45 entrepreneurs of 25 UDCs in the southern part of Bangladesh. This study found most of the entrepreneurs get appointed from local inhabitants with proper training though it has a chance of political influence but regular monitoring has occurred. The entrepreneurs are under the age of 30 with a standard educational background. The reasons for joining at UDCs are to generate income and to enter an independent profession. Among male and female entrepreneurs, the dropout rate is higher regarding female than male counterparts because of their pregnancy or after marital issues. The rate of availability of male entrepreneurs in UDCs is higher than the female counterparts. Although the income of the entrepreneurs has become higher than before joining, low-income generation by male Entrepreneurs is surely a concern if it becomes lower than expectation. However, authorities must take care of the entrepreneur’s issues so that they can serve the entire community.

The concept of homeostasis is based on Darwin’s theory of survival of the fittest. In order to survive one has to maintain a stable internal and external environment. For attaining positive change of an individual’s physical, physiological, psychological, and mechanical performance stress is required in a systematic and scientific planned way. Regular upsetting the homeostatic set point, a new set-point is able to create within the body, which can be termed as adaptation. In the case of sports performance, the training load must be adopted by an athlete through the process of super-compensation in order to exhibit better performance in the competitive sports arena. Adaptation is facilitated the positive reinforcement through a negative feedback loop in physical, physiological, and psychological areas of any individual and able to develop the concept of feed-forward mechanism. If adaptation stimuli are applied properly, training can be expected to have accumulative effect. The sporting world depends upon the positive adaptation of training load through improving the sporting performance by elevating the homeostatic set point. Long term training has also positive impact on health sports performance by modifying the qualitative and quantitative physiological component. A physiological adaptation refers to the metabolic or physiologic adjustment within the cell, or tissues, of an organism in response to an environmental stimulus resulting in the improved ability of that organism to cope with its changing environment adaptation. The purpose of the present study is to critically discuss the various aspects of homeostatic regulations and the way to create a new set point of an athlete for better performance through the adaptation process.
