The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of religious beliefs on mental health of students in Islamic Azad University of Karaj. The research method was regression and Pearson correlation. For this purpose, the population of study was selected from normal undergraduate students of Islamic Azad University in Karaj. Sample of study was included 120 students (60 girls and 60 boys), in academic years of 2015-2016 and they were selected by multi-stage random cluster sampling method. In this study, mental health questionnaire of Goldberg with 28 questions and Baraheni’s religious attitude questionnaire with 25 questions were used. The results showed that, there is a significant relationship between religious beliefs and mental health. In the sense that, when religious attitude is more positive, people will have better mental health.

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between theory of mind ability and academic achievement and self-efficacy of students with conduct disorder in Ardabil. This descriptive study is correlational type, and the population of study consisted of all students with conduct disorder in high schools (secondary levels of 7, 8, 9) of Ardabil in March, 2015. Multi-stage cluster sampling method was used which covered 384 person and then Rutter’s behavioral disorders questionnaire form B was put at the disposal of teachers, and among people who were diagnosed with conduct disorder a total of 60 students with conduct disorder were selected as the sample group. Data were collected by the use of a questionnaire regarding self-efficiency in children and adolescents, Hopi’s theory of mind, behavioral disorder questionnaire by Rutter form B and academic records. Obtained information was analyzed by using Pearson correlation coefficient test and regression test. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between theory of mind with academic achievement, self-efficiency, social self-efficiency, academic self-efficiency and emotional self-efficacy (05/0>p). Regression analysis showed that theory of mind can predict significantly about 38% of the variances of academic achievement, 29% of the variances of self-efficiency, 26% of the variances of social self-efficiency, 41% of the variances of academic self-efficacy, and 28% of the variances of emotional self-efficiency in students. Accordingly, it can be concluded that theory of mind can predict academic achievement and self-efficiency in students with conduct disorder and it shows the relationship between these variables.

Emotional intelligence is the capacity of perception, expression, recognition, application and management of excitement of oneself and others. The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between marital satisfaction and emotional intelligence of fathers and their adolescence self-esteem and mental health. A total of 384 students and their fathers selected through cluster sampling method completed a questionnaire which consisted of the following factors such as marital satisfaction, emotional intelligence, self-esteem and mental health. The research was designed as a descriptive-correlative survey, and data were analysed. For analysing data, correlation and regression were analysed using SPSS software. Results of stepwise regression showed that 26/6 of variance of adolescence self-esteem was explained by father’s marital satisfaction and emotional intelligence and 53/9 of variance of adolescence mental health was explained by father’s marital satisfaction and emotional intelligence.   Keywords: Marital satisfaction, emotional intelligence, self-esteem, mental health.

Although many studies have investigated the relationship between perfectionism and anxiety among the adults, little is known about the manifestations of the effects of parent perfectionism on anxiety of children in Iran. This study was conducted to examine the relationship between positive and negative perfectionism of mothers whit anxiety of their children in an Iranian sample. Besides the study of effects of mother's perfectionism and how can make serious problems for their children is another aim of this research. The study was consisted of 150 women of Refah Bank employees and their 8–15 years old children, which were selected by a multi-stage random cluster sampling. In order to evaluation, the positive and negative perfectionism scale and the revised children's manifest anxiety were assessed. After data collection, Pearson correlation and stepwise regression, using SPSS were conducted. Results showed that positive perfectionism of mothers was not correlated significantly with their child's anxiety. However, mothers’ negative perfectionism was associated positively with children anxiety which was significant at 0.01 probability level. Analysis of stepwise regression showed that mothers’ perfectionism predicted anxiety of their child. It can be concluded that negative perfectionism of mothers can directly and indirectly have negative effects on children and provide serious problems for them. Our findings indicate that although we must take care of unhealthy and neurotic consequences of negative perfectionism but positive striving for perfection can help us to improve in some aspects.Disclosure of interestThe author has not supplied his/her declaration of competing interest.

<p>The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between social desirability, self-efficacy, and responsibility and communication skills of high school students in Ahvaz city. The sample of this study has been consisted of 360 participants that have been selected by cluster sampling method. This research is a descriptive and correlational study. The tools that have been used in this research are: Social Desirability questionnaire of Crowne and Marlowe (1960), the responsibility questionnaire of Harrison (1999), general self-efficacy questionnaire of Scherer et al. (1982) and communication skills questionnaire of Harjy and Marshall (1986). The data has been analyzed by using the statistical methods of Pearson correlation and multiple regressions. The results have shown that there is a positive relationship between social desirability, self-efficacy, responsibility and communication skills of students. The results of multiple regression analysis have shown that social desirability and responsibility and self-efficacy are respectively the best predictors of communication skills.</p>

AbstractIntroductionIt is important to recognize the various dimensions of puberty and planning for the education of adolescents and their parents who are on the verge of this course. The present study aimed to investigate predictors of puberty health behavior in adolescent girls.Materials & MethodsThis correlational study was carried out on 280 female students from the eighth and ninth grades of high school who were selected by multi-stage random sampling method. The data gathering tool was a researcher-made questionnaire whose validity was assessed using the face and content validity method (Panel view of the experts) and its reliability was tested by test-retest and internal consistency. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 16 using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression at a significant level less than 0.05.ResultsRegression results with stepwise analysis showed that demographic variables other than the age of students (p = 0.031) had no effect on the adoption of puberty health behaviors, but their students’ knowledge and their attitude were good predictors of behaviors Health is puberty. Among the underlying and psychological variables, was the strongest prediction (Beta = 0.48). Attitude with knowledge and age was 34.9% of variance for explaining puberty health behaviors in adolescents.ConclusionConsidering the power of predictors such as knowledge and attitude, it is possible to develop puberty health behaviors by increasing knowledge of students and providing correct and appropriate information to them and improving attitudes.

<p>The present study was aimed to examine the relationship between psychological empowerment and spiritual intelligence with marital satisfaction in male and female teachers in Ahvaz from 2014 to 2015. Hence, 350 teachers were selected using random-stratified sampling method. Research tools were Spriters' psychological empowerment questionnaire (1995), Badie's et al. spiritual intelligence questionnaire (2010), Enrich's marital satisfaction questionnaire (1997); in order to do analysis, a Pearson Correlation Coefficient method and a regression method was used. Results showed that there is a relationship between psychological empowerment and spiritual intelligence with marital satisfaction in male and female teachers in Ahvaz. The results obtained from multi-fold regression analysis, using step-by-step method, showed that effectiveness, spiritual intelligence, and significance are able to predict marital satisfaction significantly. In addition, psychological empowerment has a closer relationship with spiritual intelligence, and spiritual intelligence has a closer relationship with marital satisfaction. </p>

Sea resources that open access are causing competitive competition among fishermen. This mainly affects 87.5% of small-scale fishermen in Indonesia who are commonly in poverty. The problems faced are the marketing and production institutions that have not been optimal also the mindset of fishermen who are still subsistence. One way that small-scale fishermen try to increase their income is processing fresh fish to become smoked fish (traditional methode). The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of food security of small-scale fishermen household who also do smoked fish processing activities (NKPA) compared to small-scale fishermen household who did not undertake smoked fish processing (NKNPA). The sampling method uses multi stage cluster sampling. Data analysis used an analysis of food security using the Desirable Dietary Pattern. From the results of the study on the quantity aspect, overall AKE and AKP values in NKPA were 100.71% (good category) and 119.35% (the conditions were very food-resistant) while the NKNPA were 82.58% (moderate category) and 101.50 % (the conditions were very food-resistant). In terms of quality, the calculation of Desirable Dietary Pattern consumption from NKPA had a score of 88.49 and NKNPA of 71.77 which means that the conditions are quite ideal.

<p class="apa">This study aims to investigate the relationship between the religious attitude, self-efficacy, and life satisfaction in high school teachers of Mahshahr City. To this end, 253 people of all high school teachers in Mahshahr City, in Iran were selected as the sample using the multistage cluster sampling method. For data collection, Glock and Stark’s (1965) religious attitude questionnaires, Schwartz and Jerusalem’s general self-efficacy questionnaire and Diener et al.’s (1985) life satisfaction questionnaire were used. For data analysis, Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used. Results showed that there is a positive and meaningful relationship between the religious attitude and life satisfaction. In addition, there is a meaningful relationship between the religious attitude and self-efficacy. Results also showed that religious attitude and self-efficacy can predict the life satisfaction.</p>

<p>This study was designed to determine the influence of home learning on Chinese preschoolers’ literacy skills is likely to be moderated by the level of teacher’s teaching experience. There were 136 preschoolers aged ranged between three to six years old with their parents and teachers recruited in this study using a Multi-Stage Cluster sampling technique. The results of the Hierarchical Multiple Regression analysis indicate that teacher’s teaching experience has a significant moderating effect on the strengths of the relationship between home learning and preschoolers’ literacy skills. Further research is needed to investigate more deeply to identify whether these relationships are upheld over time and with diverse sample. </p>
