Background: Skin lesions and excess sebum on the surface of epidermis occur mainly among people suffering from acne vulgaris. Scientists are constantly searching for cosmetic procedures that, can not only complement dermatological treatment and decrease sebum production, but also increase patients’ quality of lives. Aim of the study: To evaluate the effectiveness of alkaline water in the treatment oily skin and acne vulgaris in a 21-year-old woman. Case report: A 21- year-old female reported problems with too high a sebum level and skin eruptions like blackheads, whiteheads, and pustules. The sebum level was measured and the global acne severity scale (GAGS) score was used to check the amount of skin eruptions before and after a series of treatments with alkaline water. Conclusions: After a series of cosmetological treatments with alkaline water, there was a significant reduction of sebum secretion and skin eruptions.

Background: Intense pulsed light (IPL) technology has been used by cosmetic and medical practitioner since 1990. Initially it was only used to remove unnecessary hair, but over time, it began to be used for anti-aging treatments, removing erythema, acne lesions, and acne scars. Aim of the study: The aim of this study is to investigate how the use of IPL technology has affected acne lesions and to determine whether the condition of the patient’s skin has improved. Material and methods: A young woman who was struggling with ordinary acne underwent a series of treatments using IPL technology to reduce skin eruptions. Results: The study subject was a 22-year-old patient who had been suffering from acne vulgaris for several years. The skin on her face exhibited changes in the form of pustules, blackheads, and lumps. The entire treatment series was 10 weeks. Prior to the procedure, a very thorough interview was conducted, during which all contraindications were excluded. The Hellgren-Vincent scale, which is used to determine the severity of acne lesions, accurately determines the amount of skin lesions in the form of lumps, pustules, and blackheads. Conclusions: As demonstrated by this study, IPL technology has been beneficial for the condition of the patient’s skin. Pictures from before and after unambiguously indicate the positive effect of intense pulsed light. There has been great improvement in the skin’s overall condition, with reduced acne lesions (lumps, pustules, blackheads).

Background: Exfoliating treatments are widely used in cosmetology and dermatology forthe treatment of skin lesions and, above all, toreduce the number of skin eruptions that occur with acne vulgaris. An effective treatment that can be offered to people suffering from this disease is diamond microdermabrasion. The addition of acid peeling to this treatment may lead to even better results than in the case of monotherapy. Aim of the study: To assess the effectiveness of a combination of microdermabrasion and acid peeling on a 21-year-old woman suffering from acne vulgaris. Case report: The patient suffered from acne vulgaris, too high a level of sebum on the entire surface of the face, and, over the course of the disease, developed open and closed blackheads and inflammatory pustules. The sebum level was measured with a DermaUnitSCC3 device and the number of skin eruptions was determined using the global acne severity scale (GAGS). Conclusion: The series of cosmetological treatments led to a reduction in the sebum on the surface of the epidermis and the number of skin eruptions.

Summary Acne vulgaris is among the commonest inflammatory skin diseases affecting pilosebaceous units. It occurs mainly in puberty and affects adolescents at the age of 14-19 years both females and males, in relation to sebum production of hair follicles under the action of sex hormones. Clinically the disease is presented with comedones, papules, pustules, nodules and scars in some cases. Seborrheic areas face, chest and back are affected. Recent epidemiologic studies have shown significant number of female patients aged over 25 years with acne and the term Adult onset acne (AOA)was established.The latter is manifested clinically in the lower third of the face. Primary etiological cause of AOAisahormonal imbalance, mainly hyperandrogenemia. Acase ofa25-year-old woman with adult acne and elevated levels of testosterone and prolactine is presented in this paper.

Enlarged pores of facial skin always remain a matter of concern from both dermatologic and cosmetologic points of view. There were many conditions that are difficult to treat in which facial pores enlarge among them most common condition is acne vulgaris. This condition put a negative impact on a person’s quality of life and as well as also socially devastating for many individuals as it affects the physical appearance of a person. Although enlarged pores are not of medical concern it is considered as a more cosmetic con- cern. There are many available possible treatment options for enlarged pores but this case report is based on clinical evaluation of radiofrequency therapy in treating enlarged skin pores. In this report, three ses- sions of therapy every week for 3 weeks were applied. The results show a gradual decrease in the size of pores with almost clear skin. Introduction: Cutaneous larva migrans (CLM) is a syndrome, defined by clinical appearance of slowly migrating cutaneous eruption caused by inoculation with animal hookworms larvae in the skin. Despite the typical clinical presentation, CLM is frequently misdiagnosed due to its rarity in temperate climate urban communities. Case Report: We report a case of a 42-year old female, admitted to an outpatient clinic with eruption of multiple intense pruritic, erythematous, exudative papules and oval plaques, located predominately on the back. The patient claimed that skin lesions started three weeks before the examination, during her vacation in Thailand, and at first, was taught to be caused by a contact with jelly fish. Lesions were treated unsuccessfully with oral antihistamines and various topical corticosteroids, which lead to more questions regarding the differential diagnosis. Dermoscopical and histopathological findings were indicative of parasitic infection, most likely CLM. A three-day course of oral albendazole, 400 mg daily, resulted in complete cure of the disease. Conclusions: Careful clinical examination and detailed history taken from the patient are fundamentals for creating a set of differential diagnoses, that can be further clarified by the use of laboratory findings, imaging methods (including dermoscopy) and biopsy with histopathology. Although CLM has a benign self-limiting course, intense itch may substantially impact the quality of life, and possible visceral involvement or concomitant parasitic infection may lead to serious health deterioration in unrecognized cases.

Background Benign chronic familial pemphigus (BFCP) is an autosomal dominant dermatosis characterized by flares of painful and often debilitating blistering lesions in high friction areas of the body such as the groin, axillae, lateral neck, and intergluteal cleft. Limited knowledge of its pathophysiology has made treatment of BFCP a considerable challenge and efficacy with current first line therapies, topical corticosteroids and antibiotics, is variable. Case Report We present a case of this disease in a 52 year old woman that has responded dramatically to the addition of oral cyclosporine to her existing regimen of oral acitretin, with significant improvement of skin lesions, mobility, and quality of life. Cyclosporine's mechanism of action in BFCP is poorly understood, although it possibly acts through inhibition of proinflammatory cytokines in keratinocytes or modulation of intracellular calcium. BFCP, the use of cyclosporine for its treatment, and possible mechanisms of action of cyclosporine are reviewed.

Background: The history of microdermabrasion dates back to ancient Egypt. The first treatment in Europe occurred in 1985 and has since become a popular method of exfoliation of the superficial layers of skin. Microdermabrasion is an effective method of taking care of the skin of the face and body, bringing about immediate effects in the treatment of deep scars and stretch marks. Aim of the study: To determine the effectiveness of diamond microdermabrasion on a person with hyperuricemia of the sebaceous glands. Materials and methods: Based on interviews, a case analysis, and the impact of diamond microdermabrasion on the structure of the skin’s surface, the level of hydration, oiliness and epidermal exfoliation were analyzed. Case report: The subject was a 22-year-old woman struggling with oily skin. A few acne lesions and a large number of blackheads were observed in her nasal area. An interview was conducted prior to the procedure to eliminate any contraindications. The study was conducted within a period of 4 months at 3-week intervals. The Nati Skin Analyzer was used to determine the skin parameters of the patient. Results: After applying a series of treatments using the microdermabrasion apparatus, satisfactory results were obtained in the form of reduced peeled sebum and improved skin hydration in the T and U zones. Conclusions: The study shows that diamond microdermabrasion treatment has a beneficial effect on the patient’s skin condition. Phot ographs before and after the surgery document the positive effects this series of treatments had. There was a decrease in the level of sebum secretion and the elimination of skin changes in the form of acne or open comedones.
