The article addresses the spirituality of marriage according to Saint Augustine and has three parts. In the first part, the context of the Roman family institution, in which the Christian vision of the family was born and matured, is presented. Secondly, the presentation of the Christian family in the time of Saint Augustine is made, highlighting the three heterodox currents of that time in relation to marriage, as well as the position of the Bishop of Hippo regarding the body. Subsequently, a presentation of the most significant texts of De Bono coniugali is made. Thirdly, some pastoral observations are presented, starting from the penitential practice of Saint Augustine in relation to the wounded families, to later make a comparison with the contents expressed by Pope Francis in the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris laetitia on the same topic.

This article summarizes the teaching on marriage and the family offered by the Second Vatican Council (1962–65) and by the 1981 post-synodal, apostolic exhortation of Pope John Paul II, The Role of the Christian Family in the Modern World ( Familiaris Consortio). Against this background, the content and language of The Final Report issued at the end of the second session of the synod on the family (October 4–25) are examined. These considerations lead to an evaluation of the continuity and change in teaching found in Pope Francis’s post-synodal, apostolic exhortation, The Joy of Love ( Amoris Laetitia).

Resumo: O que se entende por “fundamentação bíblica” de um documento eclesiástico,no caso, da Exortação Apostólica “sobre a alegria do amor na família”?Obviamente, é a verificação da maneira como o autor do texto recorreu à Bíbliapara justificar suas afirmações. Em outras palavras, qual a hermenêutica dascitações bíblicas apresentadas pelo papa Francisco? Nesse sentido, meu trabalhonão se reduzirá à mera identificação dos textos bíblicos em cada um dos novecapítulos. Além de identificá-los, procurarei contextualizá-los e, quando for o caso,avaliá-los do ponto de vista da exegese, contribuindo assim, espero, para umamelhor apreciação do documento. O desenvolvimento do trabalho percorrerásimplesmente a sequência dos nove capítulos, em cada um deles examinandoas citações bíblicas explícitas, sem esquecer de aludir às citações implícitas.Palavras-chave: Argumentação bíblica. Família.Abstract: What does one mean by “biblical foundation” of an ecclesiasticaldocument, namely, of the Apostolic Exhortation “about joy of love in the family”?Obviously, it is the examination of the way how the author of the text resortedto the Bible in order to justify his assertions. In other words, which was the hermeneuticsof the biblical quotations presented by pope Francis? In this way, thepaper won’t be reduced to the mere identification of the biblical texts in each oneof the nine chapters. Besides identifying them, the author will try to show theircontext and, when necessary, will evaluate them from an exegetical point of view,so contributing to a better appreciation of the document. The paper will simply gothrough the sequence of the chapters, in each one examining the explicit biblicalquotations, without forgetting to allude to the implicit quotations.Key-words: Biblical argumentation. On the fifth anniversary of Amoris Laetitia, this article focuses on the importance of family relationships in our globalized world. The family allows everyone to feel equal while remaining different. In tune with Romano Guardini, Pope Francis uses the dialectic of polar opposition to describe the unity in diversity typical of authentic family life (part 1). He notes, however, that the technocratic paradigm, homogeneous and one-dimensional, cancels out this dynamic, thus opening the way to globalized indifference and the throwaway culture (part 2). Therefore, the Pope invites us to rebuild family relationships and preserve polar opposition at our four fundamental levels: spiritual, personal, social and natural (part 3).

Amoris laetitia (The Joy of Love), Pope Francis’s apostolic exhortation on love in the family, provides the pontiff’s reflections following the 2014–2015 Synods of Bishops on the Family. In it, he examines the situation of families in today’s world and calls readers’ attention “to the parts dealing with their specific needs.” The Pope anchors Amoris laetitia in the continuity of Church teaching, supporting his observations with various documents from the magisterium, including Humanae vitae, Gaudium et spes, Familiaris consortio, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Resuming published and own data, a revision of classification of Chaetognatha is presented. The family Sagittidae Claus & Grobben, 1905 is given a rank of subclass, Sagittiones, characterised, in particular, by the presence of two pairs of sac-like gelatinous structures or two pairs of fins. Besides the order Aphragmophora Tokioka, 1965, it contains the new order Biphragmosagittiformes ord. nov., which is a unique group of Chaetognatha with an unusual combination of morphological characters: the transverse muscles present in both the trunk and the tail sections of the body; the seminal vesicles simple, without internal complex compartments; the presence of two pairs of lateral fins. The only family assigned to the new order, Biphragmosagittidae fam. nov., contains two genera. Diagnoses of the two new genera, Biphragmosagitta gen. nov. (type species B. tarasovi sp. nov. and B. angusticephala sp. nov.) and Biphragmofastigata gen. nov. (type species B. fastigata sp. nov.), detailed descriptions and pictures of the three new species are presented.

Sarcomas are a group of rare and aggressive cancers, which develop in bones and connective tissue throughout the body. Sarcomas account for only 1–2% of all cancers worldwide; however, mortality rates for sarcoma are high with approximately two in four sarcoma patients dying following a diagnosis. Delays in diagnosis, poor management of symptoms, patients’ high symptom loads and high carer burden are all associated with carer distress, which may lead to complications after bereavement. The experience of having a family member referred for palliative care is also distressing for carers, with the realisation that their family member is dying. This study aimed to explore the experiences of bereaved family carers of people diagnosed with sarcoma. A qualitative descriptive design using a social constructionist framework was adopted. Interviews were conducted with sixteen participants, and thematic analysis was used to identify patterns in the data. Four overarching themes emerged: beginning the journey; moving through treatment; transitioning to palliative care; and experiencing bereavement. The narratives were coherent and potent, and people reflected on their journeys. Interventions and supports for bereaved carers could include opportunities for counselling to support reflections, supports for developing a narrative such as writing therapy, and preparation for the death of the family member.

Introduction: Lymphedema is a specific type of edema that affects regions of the body in a chronic, progressive manner. Aim: The aim of the present study was to describe the therapeutic evolution of more than ten years of treatment for primary congenital lymphedema using the Godoy and Godoy method. Method: Ten children with primary congenital lymphedema with more than ten years of treatment at the Godoy Clinic were evaluated. Children with a clinical diagnosis of primary congenital lymphedema in treatment for more than 10 years with the Godoy Method. Cervical stimulation is the first treatment option of the method and is performed as monotherapy. The patients were reevaluated with weekly, bi-weekly and monthly frequencies and then every three months or when the family was able to return to the clinic. Results: For cases in which cervical stimulation was not possible, grosgrain stockings as monotherapy was the second therapeutic option. Conclusion: The Godoy and Godoy Method is effective at reducing edema in cases of primary congenital lymphedema, with the maintenance of the results throughout the treatment period.

The article deals with pastoral care for family according to Amoris Laetitia. The author’s concern is to discuss the pastoral steps for the families in the face of crisis situations: What kind of pastoral steps can be organized to assist families in crisis situations? This article is based on the study of ecclesial document Amoris Laetitia, a post-synodal apostolic exhortation by Pope Francis addressing the pastoral care of families. First of all, the article describes the basic thoughts of this document, especially those related to the reality and ideals of family life. Then, it shows some practical pastoral thoughts for assisting families in special situations. The results can be a significant contribution for the Church in terms of its important duties and responsibilities in assisting the families today, but also for family pastoral activists. This description concludes that the crisis situation faced by families is not a fact to be constantly regretted, but an opportunity for the Church to show God's mercy to those who are struggling in difficult situations.
