The main purpose of the present study was to examine school adjustment among secondary school boys and girls in relation to their socio-economic status, parent-child interaction and emotional maturity. It was found that the students having high parent-child interaction have significantly better school adjustment.

The aim of this study is to find out the Emotional Maturity and Achievement in Economics of higher secondary students in Tirunelveli District. 1060 Higher secondary students were taken as sample. The tool used to find out the Emotional Maturity is constructed and standardized by Emotional Maturity Scale Constructed and Validated by K.M.Roma Pal (1984). The Academic achievement in Economics was found out using the tool constructed by the investigator. The mean value of Emotional Maturity scores (136.53) indicates that the higher secondary students are having extremely unstable Emotional Maturity, The mean value of Achievement in Economics scores (M=75.47) indicates that the higher secondary students are having high Achievement in Economics. There is significant difference between male and female, Day scholar and Hostel staying Higher Secondary students with respect to their Emotional Maturity. There is no significant difference between rural and urban, Government and Aided Higher Secondary school students with respect to their Emotional Maturity. There is significant difference between male and female Higher Secondary students with respect to their Achievement in Economics. There is no significant difference between rural and urban, Day scholar and Hostel staying, Government and Aided Higher Secondary school students with respect to their Achievement in Economics.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the emotional maturity in an adolescent group of 14 to 17 years of age. 173 students from a higher secondary school of Anand district participated in the study. The emotional maturity scale developed by Dr. Tara Sabapathy was used for assessing the emotional maturity of the participants. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze and understand the participants’ emotional maturity using STATA14 software. The majority of the participants (70.5%) had average emotional maturity, 21.3% participants had above average emotional maturity, 5.2% participants had below average emotional maturity and less than 3% of the participants had emotional maturity levels in the extremes (i.e. extremely low, low, high and extremely high). Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference in the emotional maturity levels between boys and girls.

At present the world is witnessing numerous environmental problems, which are the result of un-mindful exploitations of natural resources by human beings. There is an urgent need to create environmental awareness among all the citizens in general and student community in particular. The present study was conducted to study the relationship between Environmental Awareness and Emotional Maturity among Secondary School Students in district Anantnag of Jammu and Kashmir on a sample of randomly selected 250 students. The researchers found that there is significant correlation in Environmental Awareness and Emotional Maturity among Secondary School Students.

A parenting style is a psychological   construct representing standard strategies that parents use in their child rearing. There are many differing theories and opinions on the best ways to rear children, as well as differing levels of time and effort that parents are willing to invest.  Parental interest starts soon after birth. This includes the process of birth, breast- feeding, affirming the value of the baby’s cry as the parent.  The present study was intended to find out the relationship of parenting style with emotional maturity of secondary school students in Kannur District. The major objective of the present study were To find out parenting style of secondary school students for the whole sample and based on the relevant sub sample- gender, type of management and locate ,to find out the emotional maturity of secondary school students for the whole sample and based on relevant subsample – gender, type of management and locate, To find out the relationship between parenting style and emotional maturity of secondary school students for the whole sample and relevant subsample, gender, type of management and locate. The findings of the study is useful to find out the way of improving emotional maturity with respect to parenting style. Also the researcher thinks that the findings of the study would yield valid information regarding the problem at parenting style effects child development.
