A study on emotional maturity in an adolescent group studying at a higher secondary school in Western India

The purpose of this study was to investigate the emotional maturity in an adolescent group of 14 to 17 years of age. 173 students from a higher secondary school of Anand district participated in the study. The emotional maturity scale developed by Dr. Tara Sabapathy was used for assessing the emotional maturity of the participants. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze and understand the participants’ emotional maturity using STATA14 software. The majority of the participants (70.5%) had average emotional maturity, 21.3% participants had above average emotional maturity, 5.2% participants had below average emotional maturity and less than 3% of the participants had emotional maturity levels in the extremes (i.e. extremely low, low, high and extremely high). Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference in the emotional maturity levels between boys and girls.

This study is aimed at (i) studying teacher effectiveness in relation to emotional intelligence and (ii) studying the correlation of teacher effectiveness and emotional intelligence. To achieve the purpose, Teacher Effectiveness Scale by Kulsum (2000) and Emotional Intelligence Scale by Hyde, Pethe and Dhar (2001) were employed. A sample of 200 secondary school teachers was selected on the basis of random sampling technique. Descriptive statistics were used to analyse the data. The t-value was applied. Results indicate a significant difference between teacher effectiveness among male and female & Govt. and Private secondary school teachers. Findings on the basis of one way analysis of variance reveal that the group of secondary school teachers with high emotional intelligence is more effective than the group of teachers with average or low emotional intelligence. There exists positive and significant relationship between teacher effectiveness and emotional intelligence among secondary school teachers.

This article describes how small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) are growing at a rapid pace. They are inexpensive and widely available for both hobbyist and commercial use. However, with this rapid growth, regulations are having a difficult time keeping pace to safely incorporate them into the United States National Airspace. Recent regulations requiring the registration of all sUAS have been overturned by the United States Courts of Appeals. This research provides a statistical analysis of the effectiveness of the registration regulation in the reduction of unauthorized and careless sUAS operation prior to being overturned by the courts. Statistical analysis including descriptive statistics and chi square hypothesis tests were used to analyze more than 3,000 reported unauthorized and careless events. The findings show a significant difference in events pre-registration and post registration.

The aim of this study is to find out the Emotional Maturity and Achievement in Economics of higher secondary students in Tirunelveli District. 1060 Higher secondary students were taken as sample. The tool used to find out the Emotional Maturity is constructed and standardized by Emotional Maturity Scale Constructed and Validated by K.M.Roma Pal (1984). The Academic achievement in Economics was found out using the tool constructed by the investigator. The mean value of Emotional Maturity scores (136.53) indicates that the higher secondary students are having extremely unstable Emotional Maturity, The mean value of Achievement in Economics scores (M=75.47) indicates that the higher secondary students are having high Achievement in Economics. There is significant difference between male and female, Day scholar and Hostel staying Higher Secondary students with respect to their Emotional Maturity. There is no significant difference between rural and urban, Government and Aided Higher Secondary school students with respect to their Emotional Maturity. There is significant difference between male and female Higher Secondary students with respect to their Achievement in Economics. There is no significant difference between rural and urban, Day scholar and Hostel staying, Government and Aided Higher Secondary school students with respect to their Achievement in Economics.

Agriculture and garden-based learning is the need of the hour as it helps in the cognitive and psychomotor development of the student. It provides skill-based education which not only ensures learning by doing but also helps in educating the child about growing various types of plants. This study is conducted by taking 500 students from the secondary level by providing them a self-prepared questionnaire by the research scholar in two schools of Panipat. Students are taken from fields of science along with maths, botany, and agriculture fields. Based on the questionnaire for plant grower, statistical analysis is done to find if there is any significant difference between learning agriculture in school and not learning it in school. On statistical analysis using the Anova test, it was found that learning agriculture was beneficial for children in holistic development. It also helps the schools in improving the nutritive value of midday meals, involving the students in some skill-based education which can help in solving the problems of malnutrition and providing jobs to millions of Indian youth.

This study aims to compare their perceptions between gender and their age toward using the teachers’ feedback in their classroom. This study applied a quantitative method with survey method, which allowed the data to be quantified and analyzed using statistical analysis. In collecting the data, the Questionnaire Feedback, Identification, School Trajectories that measure their perceptions about Effective Teachers’ Feedback (EFT) and Ineffective Teachers’ Feedback (IEFT) have been used. The samples are 125 students, who are 53 boys and 72 girls, also 17 and 18 years old. The data are analyzed by descriptive statistics. The findings showed that there were statistically significant differences perceptions among students across their genders (p≤0.001) on EFT perceived. Furthermore, there is a significant difference between 17 years old students and 18 years old students (p≥0.05) on EFT perceived. As the result, the students’ gender and their age have main effect, with girls perceiving are more effective than boys, which leads them to report receiving more feedback from their teachers when compared to boys, and 18 years old students’ percept more than 17 years old students on teachers’ feedback toward their reading achievement.

The present study is a comparative study regarding emotional maturity among girls and boys under graduate student. In this study total 600 student were randomly selected as a sample in the present study. Emotional maturity test constructed by Dr. Mahesh Bhargav and It was used for collection of data t-test method under by in 2x2x3 factorial design was used for statistical analysis of variable. It can be know by the analysis that Ho1 there is significant difference between emotional maturity among girls and boys under graduate student. Ho2 There is significant different between emotional maturities among rural and urban under graduate student. Ho3 There is significant different between emotional maturity among arts and commerce faculty under graduate student. Ho4 There is significant difference between emotional maturity among arts and Science College under graduate student. Ho5 There is significant difference between emotional maturity among commerce and science faculty under graduate students.

The study was carried out to examine the effect of agricultural transformation on the beneficiary’s productivity and poverty of rice farmers in Kano State Nigeria. A multi-stage sampling method was employed to select 571 respondents for the study. Data were collected through structured questionnaires on respondent’s income, input and output quantities as well as their expenditures. Data were analysis using descriptive statistics, Foster-Greer-Thorbecke (FGT), Propensity score matching and LATE model. Results from the study shows that respondents productivity revealed a significant difference of about 127 kg/ha in rice productivity between participants and non-participants. Also, the LATE estimates revealed an average treatment effect ATE0 of about 222.98kg/ha. Furthermore, the project had a significant effect N11, 321.4 on the participant’s consumption expenditure than the non-participants N9980.60. Moreover, participants were, able to increase their household total expenditures by N34780 per annum. Fluctuations of input/output prices insect pests and inadequate extension visits were all the major constraints faced by the farmers. It was recommended that farmers’ information and sensitization system should be overhauled and improved. Also, attention should be given to well organize extension visits for the farmers from stake holders

This article aims to study on the readiness of history teachers to inculcate historical thinking skills among students. This study focused on four aspects which includes 1) Procedural Knowledge, and 2) Pedagogical Knowledge. Thus, to achieve the purpose of the study, quantitative methods are used. Questionnaires were distributed to 30 history teachers in a secondary school in Batu Pahat district. The results showed that there were no significant differences between teachers who were trained to teach History and those who are not. However, there was a significant difference between teachers with ten years of teaching experience with the readiness of history teachers.

<p>The purpose of this study were to determine: 1) the influence of the learning <br />model of creative thinking; 2) the influence of self-concept to think creatively, and 3) the influence of the interaction and the concept of self-learning model for creative thinking. The research method used was experimental method. A sample of 80 people selected at random from the 13 study groups. The data was collected by administering a written test questions to measure variables studied. Data analysis using descriptive statistics and 2-way ANOVA. The results showed: 1) a significant difference to the learning model with the ability to think creatively sig = 0.000; 2) there is a significant effect of self-concept of <br />the ability to think creatively with sig = 0.000, and 3) there is a significant interaction effect of learning model and self-concept of the ability to think creatively with sig = 0.018. </p>

The present study was conducted to ascertain the environmental awareness across gender, locale, type of schools and academic stream among senior secondary school students. The sample of the study comprised of 300 11th class students studying in different government and non- government senior secondary schools of Sambhal district (U.P.) of Moradabad region. Environment Awareness Ability Measure (EAAM) by Praveen Kumar Jha (1998) was used to collect the data for the purpose. The data were analyzed using descriptive (Mean, Standard Deviations) and inferential (‘t’- test) statistics. The findings of the present study revealed that there is significant difference in environmental awareness of senior secondary school students across gender (boys and girls), type of schools (government and non-government) and academic stream (science and arts). However no significant difference is found in case of rural and urban sample. The reason for this result may be the rampant illiteracy in the district. Stakeholders should, therefore, ensure that the curriculum relating to environmental education is transacted as a core curriculum. Other activities related to environmental education viz., curricular, co- curricular and literary activities should also be organized to infuse environmental awareness among students.
