Abstract The United States, according to the World University Rankings, has six out of the ten best universities in the world. According to the United States Census Bureau, the Latino population has accounted for most of the country's population growth during the last decade (56%). But unfortunately, this growth has not been reflected in higher education. While Hispanic students are enrolling in higher numbers each year, Latino teachers, and very especially the female ones, have not seen a similar growth, making up only around the 4% of university faculty nationwide. This article aims to provide an overview of the current situation regarding Hispanic female professors in American higher education and analyze the important role played by them throughout their most relevant or prominent figures. For this, due to the nature of our research, we will follow a historical methodology, taking into account that in the elaboration of the study we have based ourselves on a combination of primary and secondary sources. And as a final conclusion, we will conclude that an important goal should be then the increase of female university professors of Hispanic origin in the higher education system in the United States.

Keywords Hispanic population, university system, Hispanic professors, influence, educational charges.

This chapter discusses the comparatists who reshaped the comparative literature in the United States during the 1950s and 1960s. It mentions Anna Balakian, who became a leading figure in both the American and International Comparative Literature Associations. It also describes Anna and her family's emigration in 1921 from Turkey to western Europe and eventually to the United States. The chapter analyzes how comparatists sought to change the world in the postwar years, a time of rapid expansion in higher education and optimism about America's role in fostering international cooperation and understanding. It also focuses on the need of politics of comparative studies to have a dual focus on institutional politics, a wider political scene, and a postcolonial perspective.

The United States is not a world leader in higher education internationalization. A recent survey shows that many other countries are much more active than the US in student exchanges and the other elements of internationalization.

Few scholars would nowadays question the importance of the United States in the world of learning; but the process whereby that nation attained its present eminence still remains obscure. Among the cognoscenti, it is generally acknowledged that American scholarship had come of age by the early 1900s, whereas fifty years earlier there had been only a handful of American scholars and scientists of international repute, and the country's higher education lagged far behind its European counterpart. Yet despite the recent popularity of intellectual history and research in higher education, which has produced a veritable flood of publications touching on various aspects of this theme, the heart of the process—the emergence of the academic profession—is still inadequately documented and imperfectly understood.

PALABRAS CLAVE: (desarrollo, deserción, estudiantil, nivelación y procesos).THE STUDENT DROPOUT IN THE PROCESSES OF HIGHER EDUCATION LEVEL ABSTRACTThe permanent longing families and the young ecuadorians by access to an institution of higher education and from this condition contribute to the improvement of their standard of living, to the development and sustainability of the villages, mainly with frequency is affected; there are several students who decide to leave the leveling or withdraw from the University by different factors. Se elaboró la nueva oferta académica de la UNESUM como carrera de Turismo demostrando su pertinencia para el país la cual se encuentra ya implementada.PALABRAS CLAVE: rediseño curricular; educación superior; principio de pertinencia; turismo.ABSTRACTThe reforms in higher education in Ecuador have led the Higher Education Council (CES) to draw up regulations to regulate and regulate, under the precepts of responsible autonomy, the institutions that make up the System.
