I professionsuddannelser arbejdes der med refleksioner og arbejdsformer, der på forskellig vis sammenkæder teoretisk viden med viden om praktisk handlen. Alligevel problematiseres transferværdien af læringen fra professionsuddannelserne, idet det har vist sig, at der kan være lang vej fra viden om teori og handlen til faktisk handlen i en ofte meget kompleks konkret praksis.I denne artikel diskuterer vi med cases fra et forsknings- og innovationsprojekt i sygeplejerskeuddannelsen, hvordan teknologistøttet simulationsundervisning (i form af bl.a. inddragelse af programmerbare manikiner) kan fungere som sted for translokationer mellem den teoretiske viden, den professionsfaglige handlen og refleksioner herover.Abstract in EnglishIn order to link theoretical knowledge with action in practice, professional bachelor programs employ various methods of teaching and diverse approaches aimed at promoting students’ reflective thinking. Still, the transfer value from the learning outcome in the professional bachelor programs to professional practice is discussed. Thus, it has been shown that knowledge about theory and action is not automatically operational for supporting actual action in the professional practice that is often very complex.Using cases from a research- and innovation project in nursing education as a starting point, we in this paper discuss how technology enhanced simulations (including the use of programmable mannequins) can function as translocations between theoretical knowledge, professional action and reflections concerning both.

DRIvE (Demand Response Integration Technologies) is a research and innovation project funded under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Framework Program, whose main objective is unlocking the demand response potential in the distribution grid. DRIvE presented how the use of digital twins de-risks the implementation of demand response applications at the “Flexibility 2.0: Demand response and self-consumption based on the prosumer of Europe’s low carbon future” workshop within the conference “Sustainable Places 2020”. This workshop was organized to cluster and foster knowledge transfer between several EU projects, each developing innovative solutions within the field of demand response, energy flexibility, and optimized synergies between actors of the built environment and the power grid.

Journalism Studies & the Revolution in the Media During the last decade media and journalism have got into turmoil; landslides have changed the traditional media landscape, overturning familiar marking points, institutions and patterns. To understand these radical changes journalism studies should not only develop a new research agenda, but also review its approach and perspective.This article looks back on recent development in the field and argues for a more cohesive perspective, taking journalism as a professional practice as its starting point. Furthermore a plea is made for a thorough research into the structural changes of the public sphere and the role and position of journalism.

Over decades nursing had an interest in clarifying and developing its knowledge base and its conceptual foundation. Reflective thinking has become a popular word in nursing education world wide, but its meaning and effective use remains debatable because of lack of clarity in its meaning (Mackintosh, 1998:553). The researcher engaged in the concept analysis of reflective thinking so as to fully understand its meaning and interpretation, hence the research question to be addressed by this article is: “What is the meaning of reflective thinking in clinical nursing education?”

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> Land degradation has increasingly been recognised as a serious environmental problem throughout the whole world. Six major threats may be identified that place soil fertility at risk, namely, soil erosion, loss of organic matter, soil biodiversity, soil compaction, soil salinity, and soil pollution. Several of those risks could be effectively identified, analysed, visualised and consequently limited by approaches originating from the geospatial domain.</p><p>The China – European Union research and innovation project “SIEUSOIL” (SIno-EU Soil Observatory for Intelligent Land Use Management), funded between 2019 and 2022, as well as the European Big Data flagship research and innovation project “DataBio” (Data-Driven Bioeconomy), funded between 2017 and 2019, aim at the above mentioned challenges of land degradation from innovative geospatial perspectives.</p><p>Such innovative approaches include local geological, geomorphological, climate, yield maps as well as global soil maps provided commonly by the European Commission (Directorate General Joint Research Centre) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Among the data inputs there are farm machinery tracking and interpreted satellite images. The second level of activities consists of selected standards and specification of ontologies for the integration and sharing of soil related data, facilitating their reuse and understanding. The resulting ontology and other selected models provide the basis for the integration, publication, and querying of the source datasets using Linked data as a federated layer. Besides offering an integrated view of the datasets, this layer also enables new insights through the discovery of links.</p><p>From the cartographic perspective, several visualization techniques are deployed; from static maps to interactive visualisations. The main focus of visualization techniques is therefore given to the interactivity through utilizing the concept of Multiple Coordinated Views (also known as visual analytics tools) and dynamic queries to emphasize the impact of changes of various phenomena in space and time. For instance, see Figure 1 on monitoring of machinery fleet movement and especially its spatiotemporal changes that can bring new insights into the consequences of human decisions from many areas. Economic reasons are related to economic evidence for a farmer, including fuel consumption, efficiency of trajectory, etc. to revenue authority or subsidies management. On the other hand, ecologic motivations aim to decrease of environmental burden caused e.g. by high CO<sub>2</sub> emissions due to a lack of movement optimisation, water pollution by nitrogen due to excessive fertilisation, etc.</p><p>The outcomes of the above mentioned research are intended as a feedback to (inter)national policies within the environmental domain including the Montreal Protocol (on substances that deplete the Ozone Layer), European Common Agricultural Policy, Nitrates Directive, Air Quality Framework Directive, Water Framework Directive, the Chinese Water Pollution Prevention Law, etc.</p>

This paper presents the architecture of the RAGE repository, which is a unique and dedicated infrastructure that provides access to a wide variety of advanced technology components for applied game development. The RAGE project, which is the principal Horizon2020 research and innovation project on applied gaming, develops up to three dozens of software components (RAGE software assets) that are reusable across a wide diversity of game engines, game platforms and programming languages. The RAGE repository provides storage space for assets and their artefacts and is designed as an asset life-cycle management system for defining, publishing, updating, searching and packaging for distribution of these assets. It will be embedded in a social platform for asset developers and other users. A dedicated Asset Repository Manager provides the main functionality of the repository and its integration with other systems. Tools supporting the Asset Manager are presented and discussed. When the RAGE repository is in full operation, applied game developers will be able to easily enhance the quality of their games by including selected advanced game software assets. Making available the RAGE repository system and its variety of software assets aims to enhance the coherence and decisiveness of the applied game industry.

Objetivo: Refletir teoricamente sobre a Política Nacional (brasileira) para Prevenção e Controle do Câncer na Rede de Atenção à Saúde das Pessoas com Doenças Crônicas e articulações na formação do enfermeiro e na prática profissional. Metodologia: Reflexão teórica, por meio de questionamentos das pesquisadoras, discussões em grupo e busca na literatura. Resultados: Os trabalhadores que atuam no cuidado ao paciente oncológico possuem papel essencial na efetivação dessa política. Porém, para que sejam implementadas, é necessário que seus princípios estabelecidos façam sentido na formação e nas práticas profissionais. Conclusão: O ensino reflexivo sobre essa política na formação do enfermeiro contribui para melhorias em sua prática, assim como, práticas reflexivas e melhor qualificadas certamente impactam positivamente na formação profissional. Methodology: Theoretical speculation by means of interviews with researchers, group discussions and literature research. Results: Caregivers of oncological patients have an essential role on the effecting this Policy. However, in order to implement this policy, it is necessary that its established principles make sense for nursing education and professional practices. Conclusion: The reflective teaching about this policy in the formation of nurses contributes to improve its practice, as reflective and better qualified practices certainly have a positive impact on vocational education. Resultados: Los cuidadores de enfermos oncológicos tienen un papel esencial en la implementación de políticas. Sin embargo, para funcionar, es necesario que sus principios hagan sentido en la formación y en las prácticas profesionales. Conclusión: La enseñanza reflexiva sobre la política en la formación de enfermeros contribuye para mejoras en su práctica, como tal, prácticas reflexivas y más calificadas, sin duda, causan impacto positivo en las prácticas de formación profesional. I adopt an autobiographical approach to chronicle the contexts, experiences, and individuals that shaped my academic and career choices, which resulted in finding kinesiology and, specifically, sport and exercise psychology. Consistent with the developmental perspective I employ in my research and practical applications, I trace my life’s work in youth development through sport using transitional career stages. My academic path has been strongly influenced by hardworking and caring mentors and a commitment to balancing theoretical knowledge, applied research, and professional practice. Based on my many years in higher education, I conclude with some reflections on the future of kinesiology given past and present trends in the field.

Debates around authenticity within photographic discourse are persistent. Some have revolved around documentary photography, while other discussions focus on the ethical validity of digitally edited news photographs and indeed the photographic medium itself. This article proposes that discussions around ‘authenticity’ should be focused instead towards contextualising photography more appropriately within the creative practice of ‘making strange’. It acknowledges existing debates around photography and authenticity, before locating the discussion within creative practice. It then moves to a discussion, using Robert Capa’s ‘Falling Soldier’ (Capa, 1936) as a starting point, before drawing on examples from the author’s own creative and professional practice. In the process, the article argues that visual researchers embrace the challenges of making the familiar strange within photographic creative practices.

Background Studies indicate that incivility is common in nursing education and perpetuated by both students and faculty. Academic incivility negatively affects the well-being of those involved, interferes with the teaching–learning process, and is antithetical to nursing as a caring profession. An understanding of academic incivility is essential to establish best practices to address this problem. Purpose The purpose of this study was to examine incivility in nursing academia from the perspective of baccalaureate nursing students. Methods The study was conducted using a cross-sectional design, with a mixed method questionnaire administered to 380 students. The quantitative data were analyzed descriptively and qualitative data through content analysis. Results The majority of students thought incivility is a mild to moderate problem in nursing education. They thought that students contribute to incivility by not taking responsibility (being unprepared and being disinterested) for their education and by not being professional (being disrespectful and being uncaring) and faculty contribute by not being good teachers (being authoritarian, treating students unfairly, having ineffective teaching methods) and not being professional (being disrespectful, lacking compassion). Conclusion Until evidence is available for effective measures to address incivility, nursing schools should consider adopting strategies for solutions as suggested by the students in this study.
