Purpose: The purposes of this study were to examine the associations among caregiver burden, anxiety, spirituality, family relationship and depression and to determine predictors of depression among caregivers of hospitalized children. Methods: The participants were 128 caregivers of hospitalized children. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis with SPSS ver. 27.Results: Depression was significantly positively associated with caregiver burden, anxiety and negatively associated with family relationships. Multiple regression analysis revealed that caregiver burden, anxiety, family relationship, and being 6 months or more post diagnosis were significant factors having an explanation power of approximately 56% of the variance in depression. Conclusion: Our study findings show that it is necessary to develop strategies to reinforce family relationship and reduce caregiver burden to prevent caregiver depression.

AbstractPeople with tinnitus and/or hyperacusis often experience insomnia. However, it is unclear what factors are most strongly associated with insomnia. To explore factors related to insomnia in patients with tinnitus and/or hyperacusis. This was a retrospective study using multiple-regression analysis.Data were assessed for 444 consecutive patients who sought help concerning their tinnitus and/or hyperacusis from a specialist audiology center in the UK National Health Service. The average age of the patients was 54 years (standard deviation = 15 years). The results of audiological tests and self-report questionnaires were gathered retrospectively from the records of the patients. Multiple-regression analysis was used to assess the relationship between insomnia and other variables.Sixty-nine percent of patients with tinnitus experienced some form of insomnia as measured via the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). A multiple-regression model showed that ISI scores were significantly associated with depression scores measured via the depression subscale of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) (regression coefficient [b] = 0.44, p < 0.001), tinnitus annoyance measured via the visual analog scale (VAS) (b = 0.49, p = 0.001), anxiety measured via the anxiety subscale of the HADS (b = 0.21, p = 0.012), and tinnitus handicap measured via the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (b = 0.07, p < 0.001). The model explained 45% of the variance in ISI scores. VAS scores for tinnitus loudness, hyperacusis-related measures, hearing thresholds, age, and gender were not significantly related to insomnia. The prevalence of insomnia in patients with tinnitus is high. Both tinnitus-related factors and psychological factors are related to the severity of insomnia. Hyperacusis is not significantly associated with insomnia.

Translating is not just a single activity that is done by measure of knowing SL and TL; it is a complex work in which many factors are involved. Among all factors that affect translators' renderings, Thinking Styles are those that make more challenge for the translators. Therefore, the researcher of this quantitative correlational study tried to find out whether there was any relationship between thinking styles and translation quality of thirty B.A. Translation students at Islamic Azad University Eslamshahr Branch based on Sternberg's (1999) theory of Thinking Styles and Waddington's (2001) model D of translation quality assessment. To this end, the Thinking Styles Inventory (TSI) as a self-report twenty four-item Likert scale questionnaire and four paragraphs as the Translation Product Test (TPT) were administered consecutively to evaluate the research question. To analyze the obtained data, Pearson product-moment correlational analysis and multiple regression analysis were accomplished. Based on the results, a null hypothesis was set stating that there is not any relationship between thinking styles and Translation quality of the undergraduate Translation students. As the results of the correlation analyses conducted, this null hypothesis was rejected, because the three thinking styles targeted had a positive correlation with the participants’ scores on translation quality. In addition, the results of multiple regression analysis indicated that the three thinking styles could cumulatively predict a significant amount of the variance in the participants’ scores on translation quality. The findings of the present study have important implications for translation theories, assessment, and training.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to behaviorally validate the Rudeness Scale (RS), a self-report measure of the propensity to verbally abuse strangers, using both a retrospective design (Study 1) and a prospective design (Study 2). Design/methodology/approach – In Study 1, participants (n=280) completed an online survey that contained the RS and a retrospective checklist measure that assessed how often they had engaged in specific confrontational behaviors during the past year. In Study 2 (n=109), participants first completed an online survey that contained the RS and then later completed an experimental session in which they received, and immediately responded to, rude instant messages sent by another “participant.” Findings – In Study 1, a multiple regression analysis revealed that scores on the RS were positively associated (β=0.39) with scores on the retrospective checklist measure of ugly confrontational behaviors. In Study 2, a multiple regression analysis revealed that scores on the RS were positively associated (β=0.30) with the level of “retaliatory” rude behavior the participants displayed in their instant messaging conversation. Together, these findings reveal that people with high RS scores are more likely, first, to have acted in offensive and confrontational ways in the past (Study 1), and second, to act this way in the present (Study 2). Originality/value – Although previous studies have provided evidence for the convergent validity of the RS and established a preliminary personality profile of rude individuals, the present studies are the first to explore the behavioral validity of the scale.

The current study examines marital satisfaction from the perspective of a well spouse who is responsible for caregiving a spouse with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Forty spouses of individuals with MS completed questionnaires. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to determine the relationship of love, satisfaction with physical intimacy, communication, and caregiver burden to marital satisfaction. Results indicated that love and communication were significantly positively related to marital satisfaction, and caregiver burden was significantly negatively related to marital satisfaction. Satisfaction with physical intimacy was not significantly related to marital satisfaction with this sample of caregiver spouses. Implications for counselors were discussed.

This study aims to examine the influence of attitudes and motivation on student entrepreneurship interests, research methods used survey with quantitative approach, using a sample of 60 students of SMAN 3 Purwakarta. Data analysis technique used is Factor Analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis, and One Way Anova. The result of the research shows that the attitude has a significant effect on the entrepreneurship interest of the students, or has a significant role to the establishment of entrepreneurship interest in the students, and the motivation has a significant effect on the entrepreneurship interest of the student or has a role to the student entrepreneur interest. motivation has a significant effect on student entrepreneur interest. This shows that attitudes and motivations will provide an indirect experience to a person to have an entrepreneurial interest, because at least a person or a student has the knowledge of how to run a business, how to deal with problems in a business, how to market a product or service, how to access capital and etc.

Little research has concerned criterion-related validity of heterosocial self-report inventories. 82 undergraduate men responded to the Survey of Heterosocial Interactions, Situation Questionnaire, and Dating and Assertion Questionnaire and also had heterosocial skillfulness rated during an analog interaction. Scores on the interaction survey correlated the highest ( r = .43) with ratings of global skill, and a four-variable regression model accounted for 31% of the ratings' variance. The significant relationships between these inventories and ratings of skill provide some evidence for criterion-related validity of these measures.

Seaweed-Kappaphycus-Euchema Cottonii and Denticulum species was first cultivated at Sabah side of Sebatik in 2009. By November 2014, sixty one Sabahan seaweed farmers cultivated 122 ha or 3,050 long lines. Thirty Sabahan seaweed farmers in Kampung Pendekar (3.2 m.t dried) and 31 in Burst Point (12.5 m.t dried) produced 16 metric tonnes of dried seaweed contributed 31% to Tawau’s total production (51 m.t). The remaining 69% were from farmers in Cowie Bay that separates Sebatik from municipality of Tawau. Indonesian in Desa Setabu, Sebatik started in 2008. However, the number of Indonesian seaweed farmers, their cultivated areas and production (as well as quality) in Sebatik increased many times higher and faster than the Sabah side of Sebatik. In 2009 more than 1,401 households in Kabupaten Nunukan (including Sebatik) cultivated over 700 ha and have produced 55,098.95 and 116, 73 m.t dried seaweed in 2010 and 2011 respectively. There is a divergence in productions from farming the sea off the same island under similar weather conditions. Which of the eight explanatory factors were affecting production of seaweeds in Sebatik? Using Cobb Douglas production function, Multiple Regression analysis was conducted on 100 samples (50 Sabahan and 50 Indonesian). Results; Variable significant at α = 0.05% are Experience in farming whereas Farm size; Quantity of propagules and Location — Dummy are the variables significant at α 0.01%.
