The experiment was following to examine the “Effect of Organics and Inorganics on Seed priming techniques on Seed quality parameters in Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graceum)” the during of 2020-2021 at the seed testing laboratory department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, Naini, SHUATS, Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh). Fenugreek seeds treat with a soaked seed that is T₀ (Control). Hydro priming (Soaked with distilled water for 12 hours), Botanical leaf extracts (Neem leaf extract, Moringa leaf extract, Curry leaf extract) soaked for 6 hours, Inorganic (NaCl, Kcl, KnO₃) @ 3% for 8 hours with different concentrations, on the seed of Fenugreek. Among these different treatments, all are significant. The result intimate that T₆ KnO₃ @ 3% for 8 hrs got highest and performed well with good Seedling Germination percentage as 96.5%, Root length 8.7 cm, Shoot length 9.3 cm, Seedling length 15.5 cm, Fresh weight of seedlings 1.95g, Dry weight of seedling 0.07 g, Seed vigor Index I 1495.75, Seed vigor Index II 6.755 followed by T₁₂ Moringa leaf extract @ 4% for 6 hrs as compared to other treatments. So, the Seed priming method is a low cost investment. It is beneficial to farmers. It can increase the production of the plants will be gain profit and contribute to the food supply.

The current experiment was conducted to evaluate the Performance of Organic amendments and botanical treatments on seed quality parameters of French bean under stimulated environmental conditions. An experiment was conducted in 2021 at postgraduate seed testing laboratory, Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding Naini Agriculture Institute, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj. The French bean Cultivar Arka Bold seeds were used for priming. Organic treatments are designated as Panchagavya 2%, 4%,6%,8%, Agniasthra 2%,4%,6%,8% and Botanicals treatments are Tulasi leaf extract 5%, Aloevera leaf extract 5%, Vinca rosea leaf extract 5% and also did hydroprming treatment using distilled water respectively. Seeds were soaked in organic, botanicals and in distilled water for duration of 6 hours followed by shade drying. The results were obtained and it was found that all the treatments showed significant effect on quality parameters. The highest was found in panchgavya of all doses followed by tulasi leaf extract found to be best in Germination percentage, Speed of Germination, Root length, Shoot length, Seedling length, Seed vigour index-I, Seed vigour Index-II compared to control or untreated seeds which indicates the effect of organics and botanicals on physiological processes of the seeds. This study revealed that priming with organic amendments and botanicals can be effective in enhancing the seed quality parameters of french bean and they are low cost, effective and nature friendly and toxic free.

The present research study was conducted at the Seed testing laboratory of Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh in 2020-2021. The research study revealedthat effect of seed priming treatments with Panchagavya, Jeevamrutha, Beejamrutha and leaf extracts, Sodium molybdate on seed quality parameters of field pea was analyzed through Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Organic treatments are designated as Panchagavya 3% and 5%, Jeevamrutha 3% and 5%, Beejamrutha 5% are used as treatment 8Hrs respectively, botanical treatments are Tulasi leaf extract 6%, Lantana camara leaf extract for 6% are used as treatment for duration of 4 hours respectivelyin which the treatment T8- Sodium molybdate (3%) for 3 Hrs exhibited higher mean value for seed germination (76.75%), root length (6.49 cm), shoot length (7.84 cm), seedling length (14.33 cm), seed vigour index -I (1099.68) and Followed by value was exhibited by T6-Tulasi Leaf Extract (6%) with respect of Root length (6.79 cm)Seedling dry weight (1.725 g), Seed Vigour Index II (129.78), T0 (control) with respect of Germination percentage (71.75%) root length (6.30 cm), shoot length (6.60 cm) and seedling length (12.90 cm), seed vigour index I &II (925.60 & 98.13).

Abstract Seed priming or invigoration is presowing treatments of improving germination aimed to reduce the time from sowing to emergence and improving emergence uniformity. Research on seed priming was conducted Indonesian Cereal Research Institute (ICERI) seed laboratory from January until March 2021 to evaluate the effect of seed priming on sorghum seed vigor. Seed quality parameters includes germination percentages, germination rate, shoot and primary root length, seedling dryweight, Sorghum seed variety of Suri 4 were used as seed material. Results showed that among the priming treatments that give positive effect on germination percentage, germination rate, seedling dry weight were priming treatment with KNO3 1.5%.

Presence of hard seed coats and several seed borne pathogens hinder the normal seedling establishment in legumes. Earlier seed enhancement is mainly achieved though synthetics and growth regulators. To evaluate the effect of organics and botanicals on quality parameters of the seed an experiment was conducted in Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences. Treatments in the experiment comprised of Panchagavya at 3%, 5% and 7% for 12 hrs., Beejamrutha at 5%, 7% and 9% for 12 hrs., Coconut water at 6% and 8% for 12hrs., Moringa leaf extract at 5% and 7% for 12hrs and Sea weed extract at 3% and 5% for 12hrs.Priming with the selected organics and botanicalsis found to enhance the quality parameters compared to untreated control. The treatment Panchagavya at 7% for duration of 12 hours was found to be superior compared to the other treatments in the study.

Rice is a staple food crop for some Indonesians. To increase rice production, various efforts have been made, one of which is seed priming using biofertilizers. Biofertilizer or biological fertilizer uses microorganisms that are used as plant growth boosters. The microorganisms used to act as PGPF (Plant Growth Promoting Fungi) are Trichoderma spp. Trichoderma spp. widely used because it can trigger plant growth. This study aims to determine the response of Trichoderma spp. to the seed vigor index and dry weight of rice sprouts of sirandah batuampa variety. The research method is experimental research using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replications. Parameters observed were seed vigor index and sprouts dry weight. The results showed that Trichoderma spp. had no significant effect on seed vigor index and sprouts dry weight. Judging from the mean value, the seed vigor index of SBT, SRBA, and KRT had better values ​​than the control, as well as the dry weight of sprouts with the provision of SBT, SRBA, and SB isolates. This shows Trichoderma spp. This gave a positive response to the Sirandah Batuampa variety.

This present experiment was conducted in a Seed Testing laboratory, Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding SHUATS, Allahabad, UP during 2021 with bottle gourd, in order to standardize the best method of invigoration of priming specific to bottle gourd. method of priming viz., halopriming were evaluated by screening a different range of durations and chemical concentrations viz., T0 – Unprimed seeds (control), T₁ - 50 ppm KNO3 (Potassium Nitrate) for 12 hrs, T₂ - 50 ppm KNO3 for 18 hrs, T₃-100 ppm KNO3 for 12 hrs, T₄- 100 ppm KNO3 for 18 hrs, T₅-125 ppm KNO3 for 12 hrs, T₆- 125 ppm KNO3 for 18 hrs. Treated seeds were placed in between germination paper and in sand at control condition where data was subjected to factorial experiment laid out in completely randomised design (CRD). In which it was found that 6th treatment 125 ppm KNO3 for 18 hrs., has the significant result as compared to all the treatments with the control, the highest germination %, seedling length, weight and vigor index I & II. This study showed that Seed priming with KNO3 found to increase the seed quality parameters. In the present study proved market price- effective and most economical method. This study helps to improve the quality and performance of seeds with the help of seed priming treatments which have effect on market price and economic, non-toxic, eco-friendly sources.

Sorghum is being produced primarily as a food grain throughout the world. It is one of the major traditional food crops in Ethiopia. However, the productivity of the crop is very low and poor seed quality is one of the major determinants. An experiment study was conducted in laboratory and glasshouse to evaluate the effect of seed priming on seed quality parameters of three sorghum varieties:(Muyra-I, Muyra-II and Fendisha) with different storage of one year and two years using different priming agents with different soaking time for each priming agent (1.0mM KNO3, 1mM NaCl and distilled water for 72, 48 and 12 hours respectively) in 2012 at Haramaya University Seed laboratory. Completely randomized design in 2 x 3 x 4 factorial arrangement with three replications was used to carry out the germination and vigor tests. The priming concentrations and durations were based on previous work, which was effective in hydro and osmo-conditioning of sorghum seed. In the experiment, seed priming increased germination percentage (GP), Mean Germination Time (MGT) and improved seedling shoot (SSL) and root length (SRL), seedling dry weight (SDW) and seedling vigor indices in all varieties of both storage durations compared to their respective control. Priming with NaCl and KNO3 showed positive response followed by hydropriming for all varieties of different storage duration. When treated with sodium chloride, almost all the varieties of each storage year demonstrated an increase in germination and the degree of increment was higher for Muyra-I(__) and Fendisha (___), the lowest being for Muyra-II which was significantly lower for both storage year. In case of mean germination time Fendisha exhibited better with hydropriming for older seeds (___) and with KNO3 for newer seeds(___) while Muyra-II and Muyra-I showed better with KNO3 (____) for older seeds and with hydropriming for newer seeds. Responses of varieties for the remaining parameters were intermediate. Therefore, sorghum seed priming with osmo-media and water can compensate storage deterioration of sorghum seeds in addition to significantly improving the seed germination and vigor quality parameters

Experiment was conducted in the Seed Testing Laboratory during 2013 and 2014 at RARS, UAS Campus, Vijayapur, Karnataka State. The seeds were primed by soaking in different leaf extracts and chemical solution for one hour and then decanted the extracts and seeds were air dried under the shade to bring back to their original moisture content and used for seed quality studies. Seed germination was significantly influenced by age of the seeds and its interaction with botanicals and chemicals. Among the treatments, botanicals viz., Prosopis leaf extracts @ 2per cent recorded higher seed germination followed by Pongamia leaf extract @ 2per cent. Whereas, in chemicals higher germination was seen in KNO3@ 0.5 per cent but at par with CaCl2 .2H2O @ 2 per cent. Lower seed germination was obtained with water soaked and control. The present investigation indicate that, seed priming with 2.0 per cent Prosopis leaf extract for one hours soaking enhanced the seed and seedling quality characters, and hence it could be adopted as a pre-sowing seed priming treatment in pigeon pea.

Different concentrations of Moringa leaf extract were used to evaluate their effects on three leguminous crops (Alfalfa and Clitoria as forage crops and Mung bean as grain legume) Three independent experiments were carried out at King Abdulaziz University Experimental Station in Makkah province during 2015 and 2016. Treatments consisted of four concentrations of Moringa leaf extract (C1=1ml of juice+10 ml of distilled water, C2=1ml of juice+20ml of distilled water, C3=1ml of juice+30 ml of distilled water and C4=1ml of juice+40 ml of distilled water) and only distilled water as control. Results showed that the higher concentration C1 contained the highest concentrations of inorganic elements and growth hormones compared to the other concentrations. Thisæ in turnæ was reflected in significantly higher growth and forage yields of both alfalfa and clitoria and significantly higher growth and grain yield of mung bean. The highest concentration C1 increased number of pods, pod dry weight, seed dry weight, and shelling out turn of mung bean compared to the control in year 2015 by 85, 60, 47 and 92%, respectively. Corresponding increments in 2016 for the same characters were 40, 47, 27 and 94%, respectively.

The continuous rise in global population demands more food production under limited land resources accompanied by climate change. More oversupply of quality seeds to meet ever-growing food demand is a highly challenging task. Seeds with low vigour level limit the growth and yield of crops at varied field conditions. Hence, an experiment was conducted to develop a technique for the fast and homogeneous growth of kabuli chickpea seeds. The priming treatments evaluated in the present study enhanced the various seed quality parameters of kabuli chickpea significantly when compared to control. Hydro-priming for 4 hours (at 20°C) and air drying for 72 hours showed better results compared to rest of the treatments both in fresh seeds which recorded higher first count (66.38%), germination (92.50%) root length (11.85 cm), shoot length (6.16), mean seedling length (18.01), dry seedling weight (747 mg), seedling vigour index-I (1665), higher speed of emergence (0.3992) and old seeds with higher first count (61.88%), germination (74.13%) root length (8.15 cm), shoot length (5.85 cm), mean seedling length (14.00 cm), seedling dry weight (611 mg), seedling vigour index-I (1056), higher speed of emergence (0.3814). The aged seeds have recorded 29 % increase in germination percentage in contrast to 8 percent increases in fresh seeds. Kabuli chickpea seeds could be subjected to hydropriming, an affordable, alternative, and eco-friendly technique for improving seed and seedling vigour of kabuli chickpea.
