The experiment was carried out at a field experimentation centre, Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, Naini Agricultural Institute, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P). During Rabi season 2020-2021, to find out the suitable Physical, Micronutrients, PGR and Botanical seed treatments on growth and yield of Fenugreek (LFC-84). Different concentrations with different duration of seed treatments with control (untreated) were evaluated by screening 8 hours viz., Electric treatment (0.5A for 60 seconds and 1.0A for 60 seconds), Magnetic treatment (10mT for 15 min and 20 mT for 30 min), ZnSO4 (1% and 3% for 8 hrs), MnSO4 (1% and 3% for 8 hrs) Ascorbic acid (100 ppm and 300 ppm for 8 hrs), Moringa leaf extract (1% and 3% for 8 hrs). It has been reported that among all the treatments T6 - ZnSO4 -3% for 8 hrs has performed the best results in field parameters like Plant height, number of branches per plant, days required to 50% flowering, days required to 50% pod formation, days to maturity, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, seed yield per plant (g), test weight (g), dry weight of plant (g), harvest Index (%) followed by Ascorbic acid 300 ppm for 8 hours and found to be lowest in control seeds. Hence seed treatment of Fenugreek seeds with ZnSO4 – 3% is the best treatment compared to other seed treatments.

This study was conducted in experimental fields, Department of Horticulture, University of Bagdad, in Abu-Graib  during season 2011-2012 for jerusalum artichoke. This study was included the effect of dipping tubers in three concentrations of GA3(2.5,5,10g/l) (G1,G2,G3),as well as to control treatment (G0), and spraying nutrient solution Agro leaf A1 (8g/l), as well as to control treatment (A0). This study was made by using Factorial experiment (4*2) within the design RCBD with three replicates. Results could be summarized as follows: G3A0 increased field emergence (12.00 day), G2A0 increased percentage of germination (99.33%) and G2A1 increased number of branches (4.60 stem.plant-1) but the treatment G1A1gave highest rate for number of leaves, leaf area, guide of leaf area, dry weight of the vegetative parts and dry weight of 100gm tubers as(4495.10 leaf.plant-1, 2246.20 dsm2, 99.84, 922.40g, 24.00g.) respectively. The treatments gave significant differences quantity yield, so treatment G3A0 gave highest weight of the tubers as(45.55g.) but the treatment G3A1 gave highest number of the tubers as(68.00 tuber.plant-1 ) and highest yield of plant as (2890g/plant).

Use of wastewater for irrigation is on the rise in India and other developing countries. Wastewater contains plant nutrients that favour crop growth but leave a burden of heavy metals which can enter the food chain and is a cause of great concern. This study was conducted to explore the possibility of using wastewater to grow four vegetables fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.), spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.), radish (Raphanus sativus L.) and carrot (Daucus carotaL.). Two aspects namely (1) effect on plant growth and yield (2) accumulation of cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb) and zinc (Zn) in leaves and roots of the plant have been presented in this paper. The physico-chemical analysis of the wastewater showed that it was rich in total suspended and dissolved solids with large amount of BOD and COD. The higher amount of Cl-, Ca++, Mg++ and K+ were also present in the effluent. The heavy metal (Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn) content in wastewater is comparatively more than groundwater (GW). The values of these heavy metals were slightly higher in the soil irrigated with wastewater. The effluent severely affects crop plants and soil properties when used for irrigation. The growth characteristics (plant length, plant fresh and dry weight, leaf number and leaf area) as well as yield characteristics (seed number, 1000 seed weight and seed yield) of all the plants, irrigated with 100% wastewater, were more than that with groundwater. The pattern of increase for the plants was fenugreek greater than radish greater than spinach greater than carrot. Though the wastewater contains low levels of the heavy metals, the soil and plant samples show higher values due to accumulation, but their level was under permissible limits in plants. The trend of metal accumulation in wastewater-irrigated soil is in the order: Pb greater than Ni greater than Zn greater than Cu greater than Cr greater than Cd. Of the four plants that are grown, the order of total heavy metal accumulation in roots is Carrot greater than Radish, while in leaves the order is Spinach greater than Fenugreek. The enrichment factor (EF) of the heavy metals in contaminated soil is in the sequence of Ni (3.1) greater than Pb (2.6) greater than Cd (2.35) greater than Zn (2.18) greater than Cu (1.66) greater than Cr (1.05), while in plants EF varies depending upon the species and plant part. Radish and carrot show a high transfer factor (TF greater than 1) for Cd signifying a high mobility of Cd from soil to plant whereas the TF values for Pb are very low as it is not bioavailable. Thus, it may be concluded that wastewater may be used profitably for the cultivation of these vegetables and could effectively supplement not only the nutrient requirement of the crop but may also act as the source of water..

The growth and yield characters of chickpea varieties suitable for mechanical harvesting were evaluated through field experiment conducted for three consecutive years (2016__17 to 2018__19) during rabi season on vertisols under rainfed conditions at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh. The investigation was carried out in split plot design with three replications. Two plant geometries (30.0 × 10.0 cm and 22.5 × 10.0 cm) were assigned to main plots and six chickpea varieties (viz., GBM 2, Dheera, CSJ 515, HC 5, Phule G 08108 and BRC 1) were assigned to sub plots. Pooled analysis of experimental results indicated that significantly higher number of branches per plant (8.7) and number of pods per plant (31.1) and test weight (24.3 g) were observed under 30.0 × 10.0 cm when compared to 22.5 × 10.0 cm. Higher plant height (44.8 cm), height of lowest pod bearing branch (30.0 cm), lower days to 50 % flowering (42.1 days) and higher test weight (31.2 g) were observed in Dheera. Higher number of branches per plant (9.2) and number of pods per plant (34.2) were observed in GBM 2. Higher seed yield was observed in Phule G 08108 (1708 kg ha-1) which is followed by GBM 2 (1675 kg ha-1) Dheera (1569 kg ha-1) and BRC 1 (1493 kg ha-1). Higher harvest index (56.4%) was also observed in Phule G 08108. Chickpea varieties GBM2, Dheera and BRC1 were best suitable for mechanical harvesting and higher seed yield due to their excellent morphology.

In Coastal Plain soils of the southeastern United States, the root-knot nematode (RKN) Meloidogyne incognita race 3 causes significant yield loss in corn. Impact of abamectin + thiamethoxam and clothianidin + Bacillus firmus I-1582 nematicide seed treatments along with terbufos granular nematicide on RKN reproduction, plant populations, plant growth, and yield was assessed at two Alabama sites. Thiamethoxam and clothianidin insecticide seed treatments were included as controls. A factorial arranged as split-split plot with year as the main plot, seed treatment as the split plot, and granular nematicide as the split-split-plot treatment was used. Lower plant populations were noted for terbufos-treated corn at one study site. Reduced RKN reproduction was observed with terbufos granular nematicide at both study sites. Fresh seedling weights and yields were usually higher for the terbufos- than non-terbufos-treated corn. At both sites, both nematicide seed treatments and their insecticide seed treatment counterparts had similar plant populations, RKN reproduction rate, and fresh seedling weights. Yield differences were noted at both locations between abamectin + thiamethoxam and thiamethoxam but not clothianidin + Bacillus firmus I-1582 and clothianidin. With mean yield gains up to 13.5%, terbufos was superior to both of the nematicide seed treatments for managing RKN and protecting corn yields. Accepted for publication 19 October 2015. A field experiment was conducted for evaluating the effect of irrigation and boron splitting as foliar spray on growth and yield of lentil at the Research Field of the Department of Agronomy, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka from November, 2018 to March, 2019.Three levels of irrigation viz., I0: control, I1: one irrigation at 25 days after sowing (DAS), I2: two irrigations at 25 DAS and 40 DAS and boron was applied by four levels viz., B0: control, B1: 80% recommended dose as basal + rest 20% as foliar spray (FS) at pre-flowering (PF), B2: 60% RD as basal + rest 40% as FS at PF, B3: 40% RD as basal + rest 60% as FS at PF. The experiment was fully set up in a split-plot design with three replications. Two irrigations at 25 and 40 DAS result produced that the highest plant length, branches plant-1, leaves plant-1, dry weight plant-1. On the other hand, B3 (40% RD as basal + rest 60% as FS at PF) produced significantly the highest growth of lentil. Result also showed that the highest plant length (27.59 cm), number of branches (5.73) and plant dry matter (4.83 g) recorded from I2B3 combinations. Therefore, the combination of two irrigations at 25 and 40 DAS and boron at 40% RD as basal + rest 60% as foliar spray at pre-flowering might be considered as effective dose for the cultivation of lentil in Bangladesh. This study was carried out in field of Halabja technical college of applied sciences, Sulaimani polytechnic university, during the year 2015-2016. The objective of the study is to investigate effect of the foliar application of manganese and ascorbic acid on the growth and yield of (Vicia faba L.).The experiment contains nine concentrations and combination Mn and AsA were applied, using complete randomized block design with three replicates. The highest value of yield and number of branches were 160 g, 4.11 and 4.46 when plant applied Mn 40 ppm+ AsA 60 ppm. The maximum number of pods per plant (6.23) was given from T5 Mn 20 ppm+ AsA 30 ppm. Highest seed per pods was obtained from T8 (2.26), and the maximum 100-seeds weight was received from T2 AsA 30 ppm (45.43 g). Thus, the greatest weight of pods was found from control and T2 AsA 30ppm (13.4 g). The best length of pods and height of plant were given from both T4 Mn 20ppm and T3 AsA 60ppm (9.49 cm) (106.87 cm) respectively. The lowest seed per pods, 100-seed weight and length of pods were given from control 1.71, 36.86 g and 8.06 cm. Then the minimum yield, weight of pods, plant height, number of branches and number of pods were given from T8, T4, T5and T9 ( 41.66 g, 10.10 g, 81.98 cm, 3.25 and 4.46). From the results in this study we can recommend to applied more studies for micronutrients about different crops.

This research aimed to study the effect of treatment of rice seed infected with X. oryzae pv. Oryzae naturally to control bacterial leaf blight and to increase growth and yield of rice in the field. The research used Slit plot design with the main plot of variety consisting of IR64 and Ciherang, while the subplot is a seed treatment consisting of control, bactericide 0.2%  (Agrept 20WP), 1% citronella oil, biological agent Pseudomonas diminuta (McFarland IV scale ), matriconditioning + Agrept 0.2%, matriconditioning + 1% citronella oil, and matriconditioning + P. diminuta. Although seed treatment has not been able to control the bacterial leaf blight, it can increase the growth of seed and yield. Treatment of matriconditioning + Agrept 0.2% can increase the seed viability and dry weight of seedlings. Height of seedlings can be increased by the treatment of citronella oil, biological agents P. diminuta, matriconditioning + agrept 0.2%, and  matriconditioning + 1% citronella oil. Treatment of citronella oil, matriconditioning + P. diminuta, biological agents P. diminuta, and matriconditioning + Agrept 0.2% can increase the  estimated yield of ubinan/CCE harvest

The Effect of Cow Manure With Various Bioactivators And Giving Beef Broth To The Growth And Yield Of Soybeans (Glicine Max L. Merril) Supervised by Dwi fitriani, SP. MP and Dr.Ir.Ririn Harini,MP. The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction and effect of cow manure with various bioactivators and broth. This research was conducted in Pondok Kubang District, Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial treatment 1, namely cow manure with various bioactivators A0 (Control) A1 (Yeast) A2 (Stale Rice) A3 (Rumen). The second treatment was giving control broth, 100 ml/L, 150 ml/L, 200 ml/L. Each treatment was repeated 3 times in order to obtain 48 experimental units by planting 3 plants for each experimental unit to obtain 144 plants. The results showed that the treatment of cow manure with various bioactivators had a significant effect on the parameters of leaf number 56 DAP, number of branches 56 DAP, number of root nodules, number of pithy pods, dry weight of planting, weight of planted seeds, weight of 100 seeds. and has not shown any effect on other parameters.

Pyraclostrobin (F500), an agricultural fungicide derived from the fungal sec-ondary metabolite strobilurin, is known to enhance growth and yield of cere-als when applied on healthy plants. A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of Pyraclostrobin (F500) on growth and yield of healthy plants of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum L.) var. Pusa early under field conditions. Pyraclostrobin (F500) was applied as a foliar spray in the four different concentrations (0.005 g L-1, 0.01 g L-1, 0.025 g L-1 and 0.1 g L-1), on 15th, 30th and 45th days after emergence of seedlings. Unsprayed plants served as control. F500 treatment enhanced the biomass (Plant height, fresh weight and dry weight) and yield parameters (Number of pods per plant, seeds per plant and 100 seed weight). Although enhancements in growth and yield parameters were observed with all the concentrations of F500 used, it was maximum at 0.01 g L-1 concentration. Enhanced biomass showed positive correlation with increase in yield and seed quality (seed weight per plant). Thus, F500 can be successfully employed as a foliar spray under field conditions to enhance the yield of T. foenum graecum.

The experiment was conducted at the Agronomy Field Laboratory of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh to study the effects of nitrogen and phosphorus on the performance of soybean. Three levels of nitrogen (0, 25 and 40 kg N ha-1) and four levels of phosphorus (0, 18, 36 and 54 kg P ha-1) were considered as treatment for the experiment. Soybean responded remarkably to the added nitrogenous and phosphatic fertilizers as the crop characters were significantly influenced by different levels of nitrogen and phosphorus. Significant effect on number of branches and seeds plant-1, plant height, number of filled pods plant-1, weight of seeds plant-1, dry weight of plant, stover weight plant-1, 1000-seed weight, seed and stover yield were obtained from the combined application of 25 kg N with 54 kg P ha-1.Res.
