With the continuous advancement of smart agriculture, the introduction of robots for intelligent harvesting in modern agriculture is one of the crucial methods for the picking of fruits, vegetables, and melons. In this paper, three different illuminations, including front lighting, normal lighting, and back lighting, are first applied to citrus based on the computer vision technology. Secondly, the image data of the fruits, fruit stems, and leaves of the citrus are collected. The color component distributions of citrus based on different color models are analyzed according to the corresponding characteristic values, and an exploratory data analysis process for the image data of citrus is established. In addition, 300 citrus images are selected, and the citrus fruits are segmented from the background through the simulation experiment. The results of the study indicate that the recognition rate for the maturity of citrus has exceeded 98%, which has proved the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper.

Abstract Traditionally, the color grading of sapphire is mainly based on the naked eye judgment of the appraiser. This judgment standard is not clear enough, and the judgment result has a greater subjective influence, which affects the accuracy of the classification. In this study, the GEM-3000 ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer was selected, and the color features of 180 sapphire samples were extracted and classified using the CIE1976 color space of the device. The Kmeans algorithm was used to cluster analysis of 140 samples, and the separability of the color space features of different color levels was verified, and the center sample of each color level was obtained. The Euclidean distance between the centers of the remaining 40 samples is calculated, and each color grade prediction label is determined, and the sapphire color is automatically classified based on this. The experimental results show that the accuracy of sapphire color classification using the above method is 97.5%, which confirms the effect and accuracy of the artificial intelligence method in sapphire color classification.

Art in general and fine arts, in particular, play a significant role in human life, entertaining and dispelling stress and motivating their creativeness in specific ways. Many well-known artists have left a rich treasure of paintings for humanity, preserving their exquisite talent and creativity through unique artistic styles. In recent years, a technique called ’style transfer’ allows computers to apply famous artistic styles into the style of a picture or photograph while retaining the shape of the image, creating superior visual experiences. The basic model of that process, named ’Neural Style Transfer,’ has been introduced promisingly by Leon A. Gatys; however, it contains several limitations on output quality and implementation time, making it challenging to apply in practice. Based on that basic model, an image transform network was proposed in this paper to generate higher-quality artwork and higher abilities to perform on a larger image amount. The proposed model significantly shortened the execution time and can be implemented in a real-time application, providing promising results and performance. The outcomes are auspicious and can be used as a referenced model in color grading or semantic image segmentation, and future research focuses on improving its applications.

A diamond’s color grading is a dominant property that determines its market value. Its color quality is dependent on the light transmittance through the diamond and is largely influenced by nitrogen contamination, which induces a yellow/brown tint within the diamond, as well as by structural defects in the crystal (in rare cases boron contamination results in a blue tint). Generally, spectroscopic instrumentation (in the infrared or UV–visible spectral range) is used in industry to measure polished and rough diamonds, but the results are not accurate enough for precise determination of color grade. Thus, new methods should be developed to determine the color grade of diamonds at longer wavelengths, such as microwave (MV). No difference exists between rough and polished diamonds regarding stray light when the MW frequency is used. Thus, several waveguides that cover a frequency range of 3.95–26.5 GHz, as well as suitable resonator mirrors, have been developed using transmission/reflection and resonator methods. A good correlation between the S12 parameter and the nitrogen contamination content was found using the transmission/reflection method. It was concluded that electromagnetic property measurements of diamonds in the MW frequency range can be used to determine their nitrogen content and color grading. The MW technique results were in good agreement with those obtained from the infrared spectra of diamonds.

Abstract: Understanding materials heat transfer ease designers to make decisions in design stages, related to materials, costs and comfort to be achieved. Nowadays, understanding heat transfer does not have to be done by performing complex calculations, many simulation software have been created to perform heat transfer analysis with a friendly user interface. Moreover, the output of heat transfer simulation and analysis produces images that are easier to understand visually, such as flux vector displays, temperature boundaries to infrared color grading that make it easier for users to read the simulation results. THERM is a heat transfer simulation software developed by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, University of California in collaboration with the US Department of Energy. With the license-free usage, this software has the potential to be used optimally by designers and academics who have an interest in heat transfer analysis. This research is expected to provide an overview of the potential use of THERM software for modeling and analysis of heat transfer. The THERM software can be a good alternative for conducting research for academics and practitioners alike, given its ease of use, free licensing and accuracy. THERM produces simulation output with detailed and easy-to-understand visualizations. In testing with simulation, it is found that the material with the lowest density and thermal conductivity has the highest heat insulation power. Walls with light brick material show a significant effect in heat insulation compared to walls with concrete brick and red brick (fire-brick) material.

Movies are stories that convey the viewer to intensely experiment deep-rooted emotional messages. Film contents are predominantly delivered through vision and audition perceptive channel senses, with a wide gamma of colour sets and sound atmospheres managed to create moods, able as well to generate equilibrium awareness effects, as motion pictures glide through our attention. They can trigger emotions, thoughts and memories, derived of personal ecosystem attention structures. Distinct behaviours at the message interpretation are predisposed by cultural antecedents, validation associations and a reflection of individual emotions. Communication is a process of interaction, that leads the individual to establish perceptual and cognitive relationships with the transmitted message, such as: sensing, selecting and signifying. Therefore, meanings generated by the movie scene unravelling can be enhanced by detailed scenic cinema photography composition, as well through electing specific hue palette, saturation and brightness on image implementation, features that drive to conform an involving narrative, modulating the communication space mediation on movie creation. The semiotic field understanding, at cinema photography aesthetics and color-grading, bring about new insights of how to achieve meaningful messages, that can produce enjoyment and connection between people, within the cinematic masterpiece.

Purpose: To evaluate the correlation between the commercial grade of Corni fructus determined by machine vision technology, and its chemical composition. Methods: Loganin, morroniside, ursolic acid, water-soluble extractives, alcohol-soluble extractives, polysaccharides and total organic acids were quantitated in four Corni fructus grades classified by machine vision technology. The content of each component was determined and analyzed bymathematical statistics. Results: Compared with low-grade samples, higher-grade counterparts contained elevated concentrations of alcohol-soluble extractives, water-soluble extractives, loganin and morroniside. In addition, principal component analysis revealed a correlation coefficient of -0.723 between Corni fructus grade and Holistic Scoring based on chemical composition, indicating a significant correlation (p < 0.01). Conclusion: These findings indicated the rationality of the classification method based on machine vision, and further confirmed the notion of  "quality evaluation based on color" of traditional Chinese medicine. Keywords: Corni fructus, Commercial grade, Machine vision technology, Chemical substance
