The results of studying the effect of nutrient media of various compositions on the growth of improved micro-plants of potatoes of the Solnechny variety grown under laboratory conditions in vitro are presented. Six compositions of the nutrient medium were studied: standard Murashige-Skuga medium modified for micropropagation (considered as a control), modified Murashige-Skuga medium with a reduced content of mineral components (up to 1/2 and up to 1/3), modified Murashige-Skuga medium with an increased content of agar-agar (10 g/l), modified Murashige-Skuga medium with a reduced content of agar-agar (4 g/l), Murashige-Skuga medium modified with the addition of 3 mg/L giberrellinic acid and 1 mg/L indoliacetic acid. The following parameters of cultivated plants were taken into account: plant length, root presence, number of internodes, total plant mass, leaf mass, root mass, leaf plate surface area. The use of modified nutrient media with a reduced content of mineral components led to an increase in plant length (by 28-30%), stem mass (by 25%) due to leaf mass (by 18%) and stem mass (by 31%) and the total surface area of leaf plates (by 12%). In the variant using a medium with 1/3 mineral components an increase in the mass of the root system was observed (by 20%). When growing plants on a modified nutrient medium with a high content of agar-agar, a decrease in the length of plants (by 6%), a decrease in the mass of the scion (by 12%) due to a decrease in the mass of the stem (by 15%) was observed. Plants grown on a modified nutrient medium with a reduced content of agar-agar were distinguished by a larger mass of the root system (by 10%), scion (by 17%) (due to an increase in leaf mass (by 27%), as well as the total surface area of leaf plates (by 22%). When growth regulators (giberrellin and indoliacetic acid) were added to the modified nutrient medium, a significant increase in plant height (by 70%), a decrease in the mass of the root system (by 50%) and leaves (by 46%), and an increase in the mass of the stem (by 23%) were observed. The total leaf surface area was 28% lower than the control values. For accelerated micropropagation of improved potato plants of the Solnechny variety and preparation of plants for transplanting to aerohydroponic systems in order to produce mini-tubers, the following modified nutrient media are optimal options: with a reduced number of mineral components (1/2 and 1/3) and with a reduced content of agar-agar.

An experimental study was conducted to optimise nutritional media for date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) micropropagation by employing a shoot tip as an explant on basic Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium with varied Auxin (IAA, NAA) and Cytokinin (Kinetin and 2ip) concentrations for shoot and root multiplication. The findings of date palm regeneration on basal MS medium (Control) without Kinetin and IAA indicated a decreased survival rate (5.0%) and no root or shoot up to the end of the experiment. When the basal MS medium having different Kinetin and IAA concentrations showed an increased rate of survival, i.e. basal MS +0.5 mg/L of Kinetin and 0.0 IAA (8.0%), MS basal+1.0 mg/L of Kinetin and 0.5 IAA (6.6) and basal MS +2.0 mg/L of Kinetin and 1.5 IAA (7.0) and basal MS contains 1.5 mg/L of Kinetin and 1.0 IAA resulted in highest survival rate (8.8%). However, the highest number of shoots (2.2) and a maximum length of shoots (8.8 cm) were recorded on basal MS medium containing 2.0 mg/L of Kinetin and 1.5 IAA. Moreover, the highest number of roots (3.34) and measured the maximum length of roots (3.56 cm) was achieved on basal MS media containing 1.0 NAA and 1.5 mg/L of 2ip.

Nowadays in vitro methods, combined with ex situ and becoming an increasingly important means of preserving and maintaining the level of phytodiversity stability. Sorbus torminalis L. is a tree of the Rosaceae family, which grows on the territory of Ukraine, belongs to rare, valuable aboriginal species and is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, with its protection status - endangered. The peculiarities of introduction of in vitro culture of perennial representatives of S. torminalis with the use of different types of explants, sterilizing substances, cultivation conditions and nutrient medium composition are presented in the paper. For in vitro culture of S. torminalis, annual shoots with apical and lateral buds 15-25 cm long are optimal. The influence of different sterilization options on the development of primary microshoots has been studied. For sterilization of artificially awakened and young shoots it is most effective to use 0.1% solution of AgNO3 (7 min) and 15% solution of H2O2 (10 min). The developed method of sterilization of S. torminalis explants provided 80-90% yield of aseptic plant material. It was found that the sterilization regime did not significantly affect the primary morphogenesis of explants and was uniform. The optimal components of nutrient media at the stage of introduction into vitro culture and primary morphogenesis of S. torminalis have been established. For the cultivation of different types of explants of S. torminalis, used WPM nutrient media with the addition of synthetic plant growth regulators 6-benzylaminopurine, thidiazuron, kinetin 0,5-1,5 mg mg∙l-1 and α-naphthylacetic acid 0,01-0,05 mg∙l-1 both alone and in combination with each other. In particular, for the regeneration of plants from the lateral and apical buds of explants is effective WPM medium with the addition of BAP 1,5 mg∙l-1 + 0,5 mg∙l-1 NAA and WPM + TDZ medium 0,5 mg∙l-1 with adding PVP 200 mg∙l-1. To induce the laying of additional buds and shoots on the explant from the apical meristems in the medium should be added 4,0 mg∙l-1 BAP + 0,01 mg∙l-1 NAA with the addition of PVP 200 mg∙l-1.

The use of yeasts with a high titer of probiotic cultures of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and plant components, ascorbic acid in the technology of obtaining functional products - can improve the quality of finished products, nutritional and biological value. The aim of the study was to study the effect of functional components and antibiotics of different groups in the elective nutrient media "Lactobacagar" and "Bifidoagar" on the LAB  titer and their viability. The task of the work is to determine the feasibility of using extracts of milk thistle, rye seeds, flax and ascorbic acid in nutrient media for the viability of LAB yeast "VIVO" with the addition of antibiotics of different groups and concentrations. The effect of the most commonly used antibiotics was studied: benzylpenicillin, azithromycin, lincomycin, gentamicin sulfate, ceftriaxone, norfloxacin, amoxil, streptomycin, tetracycline, erythromycin on the titer of lactic acid concentrations, which correspond to IV bacteria; 50; 25; 12.5; 6.25; 3.13; 1.56; 0.78. Determination of antibiotic resistance of LAB was performed by the method of double dilutions. Determination of antibiotic resistance of LAB was performed by the method of double dilutions. The effectiveness of the use of extracts of milk thistle, flax and red seed, as well as ascorbic acid in the practice of nutrient enrichment has been proven. The introduction of these components into the composition of nutrient media with antibiotics led to an increase in the number of viable LAB cells by 5—9 %. It is recommended to enrich fermented milk products and bakery products with functional components — seeds or meal of red flax, flax and thistle to increase the nutritional value and increase the titer of fermentation microflora.

The results of the research in the field of studying the relationship of the geometric structure of organic compounds with their biological activity are presented. It has been shown that the stereospecific structure of organic and inorganic molecules can have a direct effect on the biologically active properties of substances. Among the known types of stereoisomerism (geometric and optical), this work summarizes the effect of various types of geometric isomerism on the bioactivity of compounds. In addition, the results of the authors’ own research are presented. In particular, the results of studying the antimicrobial and antifungal activity of hydroxyalkyl monoesters of norbornedicarboxylic acid depending on their stereoisomeric forms in relation to various pathogenic microorganisms are shown. The studies were carried out by the serial dilution method. As nutrient media, we used MPA pH 7,2–7,4 for bacteria and Sabouraud’s medium for fungi. The incubation time in a thermostat for bacteria was 18–24 hours at 37ºC, for fungi 1–10 days at 28ºC. It has been noted that the endo-isomers of the synthesized compounds have a higher antimicrobial and antifungal activity against grampositive (Staphylococcus aureus), gramnegative (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) bacteria, as well as yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida. Based on the obtained test reports, the synthesized compounds have been recommended for use as local antiseptic preparations.
