A Ciência da Computação é uma área de conhecimento que pode transitar com desenvoltura em muitas outras áreas, apresentando aplicações diversas para utilização no cotidiano de todos. As aplicações computacionais ficaram muito mais evidentes em um momento quando muitas pessoas precisaram ficar em casa, em meio a uma crise sanitária, numa tentativa de realizar trabalhos de forma remota, fazendo uso de interfaces que deveriam dar conta da interação humana e também da conexão, transmissão e compartilhamento de dados e/ou informações – estas pessoas eram, em sua maioria, trabalhadoras que lidavam/lidam com a informação e o conhecimento. Neste período também foi evidenciado que há necessidade também de confiabilidade no que é produzido e compartilhado, tendo por origem as respeitadas instituições que produzem conhecimento – as Universidades e os institutos de pesquisa. Em um período que o conhecimento, bem como aqueles que os produzem, sofrem ataques diversos, criando dúvidas onde a ciência já produziu sólidas pesquisas e testes confiáveis, é necessário reafirmar que mantemos a confiança na ciência, nos pesquisadores sérios, responsáveis e comprometidos com a divulgação de conhecimento que ajude as pessoas em diversas instâncias de atuação, para que não tenhamos a impressão de vivermos uma distopia como a que lemos em Fahrenheit 451, de Ray Bradbury. A comunicação em meio digital é, sem dúvida a grande protagonista nesse período da pandemia de covid-19 e neste sentido, a computação continua a transitar pelas diversas áreas de conhecimento, seja contribuindo para a infraestrutura onde serão realizados os trabalhos no formato remoto, seja na interface em que permitirá o uso dessa infraestrutura. Esta é uma edição com apenas 4 (quatro) artigos e que apresentam temas e objetos diversos de estudos, mas marcando a presença digital de mais uma edição da nossa ReCiC. O primeiro artigo desta edição, intitulado “Análise de metadados para inferência da qualidade de artigos da Wikipédia”, de autoria dos pesquisadores Rodrigo S. Nürmberg e Arlindo Amaral Neto, apresenta um estudo realizado a partir do uso de metadados de conteúdos da web, mais especificamente dos textos da Wikipédia, com o objetivo de inferir automaticamente sobre a qualidade destes, a partir de determinados critérios. O segundo artigo, com o título “Linear programming problems in High School using GeoGebra”, escrito por Gonçalo Cerqueira, Velton Pires e Daniel Campos, trazem um conteúdo matemático aplicado por meio de uma interface computacional, criando condições para um melhor entendimento da aplicabilidade da matemática para melhor compreensão de seu conteúdo na educação básica, no Ensino Médio. Já o terceiro artigo, cujo título é “Um sistema de baixo custo para redes inteligentes de transporte público”, traz os resultados do trabalho dos pesquisadores Marlos Marques, Cassio Silva e Jorge Correia que aborda um uso das tecnologias digitais móveis para prover informações úteis aos utilizadores dos serviços de transporte público. E fechando esta edição, o artigo dos pesquisadores da University of Yaounde I (Camarões), C. Nkuimi-Jugnia e P. Pankiti, intitulado “Finitary ideals of direct products in quantales”, aborda uma discussão teórica dentro da Matemática Discreta que embasa teoricamente a Computação, mais detidamente sobre algumas estruturas algébricas parcialmente ordenadas. Os temas abordados são diversos e como a computação, seja como ciência ou como técnica, aplicáveis em nossa realidade de estudos, também diversos. <p>This thesis aims to identify and analyse the most prominent influences on Scott Westerfeld's Uglies series and Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. It looks particularly at the difference between the authors' attitude towards influences they happily acknowledge and those influences which they attempt to conceal because they cause them anxiety (in the case of Westerfeld) or embarrassment (in the case of Pullman). This focus, combined with the speculative analysis of His Dark Materials' influence on Extras, the fourth book of the Uglies series, is intended to show the variability of literary influence. Comparative close readings throughout the thesis display the variety of ways influences are used within the texts, and illustrate the factors on which their use is dependent: the compatibility of the latecomer text with its precursor, the author's opinion of the earlier work, and the reading the author makes of the precursor text. Pullman's acknowledgement of influences is dependent on whether he considers them worthy precursors (in the case of Heinrich von Kleist, William Blake, and John Milton) or an embarrassing ancestor (in the case of C. S. Lewis). Westerfeld's is dependent on how similar his precursor works are to his own texts, as he does not acknowledge the obvious influence of Aldous Huxley, but happily names Ray Bradbury, John Christopher, Ted Chiang, and Charles Beaumont as influences. The thesis shows that the use of literary influences is not straightforward as one author may, as Westerfeld and Pullman do, display different attitudes to and appropriate precursor texts in differing ways within one work.</p>

The investigation of psyche problems in terms of artistic analysis of the study of psychology, artistic understanding of the complexity, contradictions, invisible mysteries of heroes’ state of mind, has always been attractive to study in the world literature. It is essential to reveal and solve problems associated with the confusion and boundless breadth of the subconscious, literary and poetic peculiarities, the specific features of the initial stage of fantastic literature development, the perfection of the directions of social, philosophical, fiction, the emergence of dystopia, apocalyptic, post-apocalyptic, steampunk or pro-punk, turbo-realism, post-cyberpunk, alternative directions of fiction, which are the basis of the psychoanalytic teachings of the twentieth century. In the field of research of the phenomenon of psychologism as a scientific and theoretical problem in world literature, it should be noted that, since the image of a person is in the center of fiction, the conducted research is aimed at revealing his/her spiritual world, describing uncontrolled evolutions in his/her inner world, studying the capabilities of the individual. In particular, special attention is paid to the development of scientifically based ideas about the problems associated with the appearance of psychologisms in fantastic works, their artistic tasks to reveal the character of the hero, the spiritual world of the writer in an artistic image, his spiritual worldview, his philosophical views on the world and a person. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of the concept of artistic psychologism in the works of Ray Bradbury and Khodjiakbar Shaikhov, to reveal the creative skills of writers in presenting the heroes’ psychology in their fantastic works in the context of a comparative typological study. The object of the research deals with the study of such problems disclosure heroes’ spiritual world, the direct or indirect depiction of the psychology of characters in the context of the artistic interpretation of universal values in works of Ray Bradbury and Khodjiakbar Shaikhov’s using the method of comparative typological analysis. The subject of this research is the concept of artistic psychologism in Ray Bradbury and Khodjiakbar Shaikhov’s works. The methods of structural analysis, comparative-historical, comparative-typological, psychological and biographical methods have been used for the research.

This paper aims to investigate the linguistic aspect of represented speech in the novel “The Martian Chronicles” by Ray Bradbury within the framework of M. Bakhtin’s concept of polyphony. The article provides a classification of linguistic signals of voices, determines their frequency, types of represented speech, the number of voices. The results of the study show that fragments with represented speech in the novel are few; as a rule, there are two voices in them. In other passages, despite the presence of several voices, the dialogical perspective is not expressed. Moreover, one linguistic marker can be simultaneously a lexical, syntactic and graphic signal; ideological markers creating a slight polyphonic effect. Syntactic means, being the most frequent ones, convey the perception of the character and form Bradbury’s special narration style.

Ao partir da problematização de dizeres naturalizados no que tange à função-docente, articulados a atuais discussões sobre a Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC), a presente reflexão intenta ensaiar a função professor de teatro pela perspectiva de um professor-narrador: figura que ao narrar o mundo integraria a ele as gerações vindouras. Participa desta discussão os temas da tradição, da autoridade e da responsabilidade no campo educacional, debatidos por Hannah Arendt, a função do narrador, rememorada por Walter Benjamin, assim como as ideias de governo e de atitude crítica, legadas pelo pensador francês Michel Foucault. A armação argumentativa da reflexão, desafiando-se a uma abordagem outra do professor de teatro, dialoga com referências exógenas às práticas teatrais e educacionais: o filme Teorema, do italiano Pier Paolo Pasolini, e a obra literária Fahrenheit 451, do norte-americano Ray Bradbury. Palavras-chaveFunção-Docente. A disappointment in parental behaviour towards children sometimes does not realized by parents. How parents raised their children is one of the reasons children unconsciously experience disappointment, reflected in the short story A Handful of Dates by Tayeb Salih and The Veldt by Ray Bradbury. This study shows that parental attitudes affect children's behaviour. This research uses the close reading method which includes: (1) analyzing the character of children and parents (2) identifying child’s unconsciousness (3) drawing conclusions about the effect of unconscious parental behaviour on children. This study uses psychoanalytic approach. Moreover, this study shows that parents' behaviour toward children’s unconsciousness can influence children's bad behaviour.

The article deals with the analysis of main constructions and lexico-semantic features of inversion and detachment in the text of the novel Dandelion Wine written by Ray Bradbury. In the process of theoretical data collection and the lexical and semantic analysis of inversion and detachment such general and linguistic research methods have been employed: observation, induction, comparison, statistical (quantitative) method, structural method (transformational analysis), method of semantic and stylistic analysis and contrastive method. In the course of our research, we have analyzed scientific works devoted to the investigation of inversion and detachment of such foreign and Ukrainian scholars as Danielson D., Bilber D., Crystal D., Galperin I., Arakin V., Denysenko N., Telezhkina O., Potebnia O., Shakhmatov O., Peshkovskii O. and others. Based on the views of the above-researchers, we have provided a general theoretical overview of the stylistic devices under investigation. In the practical part of the study, we have compared the main constructions of inversion and detachment and their classifications, as well as lexical and semantic features of these stylistic devices in the English and Ukrainian versions of the novel. The paper provides examples of inversion and detachment construction from English and Ukrainian texts and their detailed analyses.

Gardens on Fire. Fahrenheit 451 Revisited   Resumen: En este trabajo proponemos una reconsideración de una de las historias distópicas más populares y discutidas desde mediados del siglo XX, Fahrenheit 451, del escritor y ensayista estadounidense Ray Bradbury. Aunque esta historia ha atraído desde su publicación la atención del pensamiento político y social, creemos que ha sido ampliamente simplificada. A diferencia de ciertos críticos, no creemos que la fábula política de Bradbury fomente, como muchas otras distopías, una falta de perspectiva histórica o una insuficiente comprensión del presente. Si la visión política y cultural de Bradbury es criticable no lo es por su evasión de la historia, sino más bien por una visión histórica demasiado optimista. También queremos mostrar que Bradbury no fue un humanista enemigo de la cultura de masas, ni de la tecnología. El examen en profundidad de su novela y de numeroso material complementario (otros escritos, entrevistas y documentos) permitirá explicar porqué su historia sobre el sombrío futuro de la sociedad industrial también contenía elementos para imaginar un futuro alternativo. Gracias a ese examen, finalmente, concluiremos que en el caso de Bradbury la ciencia-ficción no solo sirve para imaginar un futuro indeseable, sino, sobre todo, para mantener vivas y transformar tradiciones con las que fabricar un futuro deseable. Abstract: In this paper we propose a reconsideration of one of the most popular and discussed dystopian stories since the mid-20th century, Fahrenheit 451, by the American writer and essayist Ray Bradbury. Although this novel attracted the attention of political and social thought since its publication, we think that it has been largely simplified. Unlike some critics, we do not consider that Bradbury's political fable, like many other dystopias, fosters a lack of historical perspective or an insufficient understanding of the present. If Bradbury's political and cultural vision is open to criticism, it is not only for his evasion of history, but rather for an overly optimistic historical vision. We also make clear that Bradbury was not a humanist enemy of mass culture and technology. A close reading of his novel and numerous supplementary material (other writings, interviews and documents) make us to elucidate why his story about the bleak future of industrial society also contains elements to envisage an alternative future. Thanks to this examination we will conclude that, in the case of Bradbury, science-fiction does not serve just to foretell an undesirable future, but it significantly helps to keep alive and to transform traditions with which to manufacture a desirable future.   Palabras clave: distopía, tecnologías, libros, memoria, Bradbury.
