A calculation of the amount of literature that should be processed by a scientist when conducting research in the field of Earth science has been made. An approximate estimate of the volume of literary sources processed by a scientist is 10000 works over 20 years. To work with such a large volume of literature it is necessary to use programs of bibliographic managers. The EndNote and Mendelay software are reviewed. The problems of such software packages and their advantages are discussed. The main disadvantage is the lack of support for long-term literature review work. In addition, there is insufficient support for hierarchical systems of semantic-intelligent relationship of articles with problems of the science of the Earth. The limitations of professional software of the bibliography managers forced to develop our own bibliographic manager. Algorithms of its operating bibliographic system, which realized implementation in the Access Microsoft program, are considered. The proposed algorithm can be used in other fields of science as well.

AbstractIn this article, the authors applied a logistic growth model explaining the dynamics of the spread of COVID-19 in Egypt. The model which is simple follows well-known premises in population dynamics. Our aim is to calculate an approximate estimate of the total number of infected persons during the course of the disease. The model predicted—to a high degree of correctness—the timing of the pandemic peak$$t_{{\text{m}}}$$ t m and the final epidemic size$$P$$ P ; the latter was foreseen by the model long before it was announced by the Egyptian authorities. The estimated values from the model were also found to match significantly with the nation reported data during the course of the disease. The period in which we applied the model was from the first of April 2020 until the beginning of October of the same year. By the time the manuscript was returned for revision, the second wave swept through Egypt and the authors felt obliged to renew their study. Finally, a comparison is made with the SIR model showing that ours is much simpler; yet leading to the same results.

Among gynecological tumors, malignant uterine tumor (MUT) is the 6th most common cancer in women and the 15th most common cancer overall. There were approximately 382 069 new cases and 89 929 deaths attributed to this type worldwide in 2018. Therefore, MUT was the second most common gynecological cancer and the fourth leading cause of death due to gynecological cancer in 2018, and is expected to increase the incidence rate by more than 50% globally by 2040. Mortality rates are lowest in Central and South Asia and most of Africa. Survivors of MUT may experience treatment-related issues, including infertility, early onset of menopause, sexual problems, and lower limb lymphedema. Wbuilds its own database from national modeling incidence estimates, using incidence ratios with a sampling method that relies on the calculation of a weighted or simple average of the most popular local rates applied to the population of a few regions or by an approximate estimate based on data provided by health establishments in neighboring countries. While in Algeria, existing statistical and epidemiological data and updated information on the pathology are insuffi cient. The objective of this work is to highlight the importance and the situation of the MUT in this country and to describe the different recent aspects (etiology, diagnostics and treatment) related to the disease.

The existence of buildings has an important role in human life according to the purpose of the building. After completion of a building is expected to be able to carry out its functions according to the age of the plan. The purpose of this study is to estimate the cost of maintenance and care at the Pekanbaru Customs and Excise Service Office based on PERMEN NO.24 / PRT / M / 2008. It is expected that with this system, maintenance and maintenance activities will be in accordance with applicable standards and retain the use and value of the building. Regulation of the Minister of Public Works Number: 24 / PRT / M / 2008 concerning guidelines for building maintenance and maintenance, building maintenance This research was conducted using the Approximate Estimate method using the highest average unit price per m² of storey buildings for buildings accurate building as a guideline.he results of the calculation of this study found the estimated cost estimate of rough estimate (approximate estimate) of Rp. 16.156.679,93, - when compared with the calculation of the building price of Rp. 11.483.051,200 - the percentage of costs for maintenance of buildings in Pekanbaru Customs Service Office is only 0,1407% of the total price of the building, so that it can be categorized in the level of minor damage (<35%). Whereas the annual maintenance fee is Rp. 319.792.000,00, - in 2020 which is expected to increase every year based on the value of inflation based on Bank Indonesia.   Keywords: Estimation, Maintenance, Maintenance, Offices spase

<p>This paper tries to account for the economic loss due to natural disasters, as the depreciation of capital and provide the adjusted estimate of NDP. Systematic data on economic loss due to natural disasters are limited for all Indian states. Therefore, this paper provides a methodological framework for accounting for the depreciation of the capital due to natural disasters for all Indian states and provides an approximate estimate of adjusted NDP for all Indian states. Due to availability of systematic data on the economic loss due to natural disasters, time series estimate of adjusted NDP are provided for Odisha state which experiences maximum climatic natural disasters. Calculation of adjusted NDP will be very much useful for fiscal transfer from Union to States and other economic policy making. </p>

Humans share with other animals a number sense, a system allowing a rapid and approximate estimate of the number of items in a scene. Recently it has been shown that numerosity is shared between action and perception as the number of repetitions of self-produced actions affects the perceived numerosity of subsequent visual stimuli presented around the area where actions occurred. Here we investigate whether this interplay between action and perception for numerosity depends on visual input and visual experience. We measured the effects of adaptation to motor routines (finger tapping) on numerical estimates of auditory sequences in sighted and congenitally blind people. In both groups, our results show a consistent adaptation effect with relative under- or over-estimation of perceived auditory numerosity following rapid or slow tapping adaptation, respectively. Moreover, adaptation occurred around the tapping area irrespective of the hand posture (crossed or uncrossed hands), indicating that motor adaptation was coded using external (not hand centred) coordinates in both groups. Overall, these results support the existence of a generalized interaction between action and perception for numerosity that occurs in external space and manifests independently of visual input or even visual experience.

The paper describes an attempt to quantify the dependence of labor productivity in the national economy on the level of unemployment. The existence of a positive relationship between these indicators follows from general theoretical considerations. We considered the hypothesis that labor productivity is a power function of the capital ratio, adjusted for a multiplier, the value of which is determined by the level of unemployment and reflects the associated changes in the efficiency of capital use. Parameters of the corresponding regression equation built on the basis of the official Russian statistics for 1996-2018 years were determined. Based on the calculations, an approximate estimate of the impact of changes in labor productivity depending on fluctuations in the unemployment rate is given. In addition, we propose a modification of the Cobb-Douglas production function that follows from the considered labor efficiency model, which is also used for calculations.

We propose four confidence intervals for the ratio of two independent Poisson rates. We apply a parametric bootstrap approach, two modified asymptotic results, and we propose an ad-hoc approximate-estimate method to construct confidence intervals. We justify the correctness of the proposed methods asymptotically in the case of non-rare events (when the Poisson rates are large). We also compare the proposed confidence intervals with some recommended ones in the case of rare events (when the Poisson rates are small) via an extensive simulation study. The results show that the proposed modified asymptotic and the approximate-estimate confidence intervals perform reasonably well in terms of coverage probability and average length.
