One of the obstacles faced by art and culture teachers who do not have a background in music art is in teaching arrangement material, especially in terms of writing block notation, as well as in sounding the results of the arrangement. The purpose of this study is to introduce the existence of various music software which is expected to help art and culture teachers in writing and reading notation as well as being able to listen to the results of their arrangements. The research method in this study uses Class Action Research or classroom action research with a qualitative approach, so that teachers get an overview of implementing it in their respective classes step by step. Utilization of this Encore software can solve the problems faced by middle school arts and culture teachers, especially in Serang Regency in teaching the art of music, especially in arrangement material.

Writing skills are needed across all courses, across all discipline research papers, projects, reports, assignments. However, many claimed they have “writers’ block” which hinders them from writing as often as they hoped, or as much as they wished. Although many may think writing block stems from a writer who only lacks content. However, more often than not, writing block is caused of writers’ fear of writing. The writer becomes so overwhelmed by the fear of writing that he/she is paralyzed with fear. Fear in writing is a learned behaviour that will influence the writer’s behaviour towards writing-related environment. Past studies have shown that one way for people to not live in fear is to avoid the action totally. This study is done to investigate the facets of avoidance behaviour to avoid writing-related activities. 108 participants responded to a survey. The instrument used is a survey with 6 sections. The first section is demographic profile. The second section is on cognitive avoidance and it has 4 items. The third section is somatic avoidance with 7 items. The fourth section is protective avoidance and has (i) problems with punctuation (9 items), (ii) problems with language use (7 items), and (iii) problems with writing skills (9 items). The fifth section is situation with 5 items and the last section is substitution with 7 items Findings reveal that when writer fear writing, they may resort to avoidance behaviour such as cognitive, somatic, protective, situational and also substitution avoidance.

AbstractI/O latency and throughput are two of the major performance bottlenecks for disk-based database systems. Persistent memory (PMem) technologies, like Intel’s Optane DC persistent memory modules, promise to bridge the gap between NAND-based flash (SSD) and DRAM, and thus eliminate the I/O bottleneck. In this paper, we provide the first comprehensive performance evaluation of PMem on real hardware in terms of bandwidth and latency. Based on the results, we develop guidelines for efficient PMem usage and four optimized low-level building blocks for PMem applications: log writing, block flushing, in-place updates, and coroutines for write latency hiding.

One of the most beautiful things in this wide world is reading science that is well written and reported. It is interesting, dynamic, fun and it teaches you novel facts about our universe. But writing a manuscript with all those characteristics is a remarkable challenge. We get stuck while facing the blank page and our ideas are rarely inked the way we would have liked. Have you ever been in such a situation? Sitting down, ready to write an essay, a manuscript or even a love letter…, and, although you have all the ideas in your mind, they simply refuse to be placed on paper. Here, I bring you a remedy against scientific writing block. On the next few pages I will tell you a bit about my writing experience, so you can face the page and write texts that look a lot closer to what you were thinking.

This Community Service (PKM) activity is motivated by the lack of knowledge and skills of most art and culture teachers in writing music notation with beam notation in junior high schools in Pontianak. Thus we need a media that can help accelerate and exact the understanding and skills of writing music notation. The method used is the implementation of the final program in the form of training and mentoring to increase interest, knowledge, and skills in writing block notation. The training is delivered in a variety of ways through lectures, demonstrations, questions and answers, and practices at MGMP (Subject Teachers' Group) teacher group meetings. The results of the activities show that the training program has achieved the expected objectives, namely increasing the interest, knowledge, and skills of teachers in writing block notation with finale media. It is indicated by the teacher's response to the activity, the results of the assignment, and the final test for writing simple songs.
