Information technology (IT) and open innovation has been one of hot topic in existing research respectively. However, there are lack empirical research on inner mechanism of internal IT capability affecting open innovation performance. According to dynamic capability theory, this paper puts internal IT capability, internal knowledge integration, firm social capital, and open innovation performance into a theoretical model. Through 232 surveys, the results indicate that internal knowledge integration plays a mediator role in the effect of internal IT capability on open innovation performance. Meanwhile, the relationship between internal IT capability and internal knowledge integration can be positively moderated by firm social capital. This study extends the research on open innovation and IT business value, and provides theoretical direction for practice.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to analyse the effect of organisational agility on environmental knowledge as an instrument for the successful development of eco-innovation in products. Design/methodology/approach This study used a cross-sectional design to collect data on the study variables from a sample of 184 Spanish manufacturing organisations. Structural equations with partial least squares were used to test the hypotheses. Findings Organisational agility is significantly linked to internal and external environmental knowledge. The results of this study highlight the effect of external knowledge on the success of eco-innovation. Internal environmental knowledge positively moderates the effect of external knowledge on the success of green products. Research limitations/implications Based on the dynamic capabilities approach, a theoretical model has been proposed in which organisational agility is configured as an effective capacity for the development of environmental knowledge. The results confirm this relationship and indicate that, although internal environmental knowledge is not decisive in developing new green products, it does enhance the effect of external knowledge on the success of eco-innovation. Practical implications Innovative companies must implement organisational agility practices that promote environmental knowledge for the success of new green products. They should also promote both external and internal knowledge. Originality/value This study addresses the little explored area of the relationship between organisational agility and the successful development of new green products. The inherent particularities of eco-innovation prompt the need for further studies on the creation of specific knowledge for its promotion. This study concludes that adopting agile practices enables key environmental knowledge for this type of innovation to be created. Additionally, it explores the tensions arising from the dichotomy between internal and external knowledge, with scarce resources allocated to the most effective source. Although both types of knowledge seem to be equally relevant, external knowledge plays a more significant role in the case of eco-innovation. A final contribution of this study is the finding that internal knowledge can further enhance the effect of external knowledge on the development of successful green products.

Open innovation, in the form of inbound and outbound open innovation, is an ever-increasing research field. Research into outbound open innovation (i.e., the inside-out process) focused mostly on the commercialisation of internal knowledge. However, we know very little about firms’ voluntary nonpecuniary knowledge disclosure. This paper sheds light on this understudied research field by conducting a quantitative study that identifies which internal and external conditions foster firms’ knowledge disclosures. The results show that firms’ strategies to influence (i) the market and the competition and (ii) external spillovers are drivers of firms’ knowledge disclosures. Further, the moderating roles of environmental characteristics are shown. Firms’ environmental technological dynamism is found to strengthen the positive relationships between influencing external spillovers and knowledge disclosure. In contrast, the relationships between influencing the market and the competition and knowledge disclosure are negatively moderated by a firm’s environmental technological dynamism.

Abstract Background and Purpose: Innovativeness and new product commercialization are highly important for companies. Therefore, a deep understanding of the impact of all potentially influential drivers of success is critical. The purpose of the paper is to explore the impact of internal knowledge sharing on new product selling and sales innovativeness as well as the impact of empowerment on internal knowledge sharing and, indirectly, on new product selling and sales innovativeness. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research encompassed 101 salespeople working at the top 1000 value added creators in Croatia. The questionnaire was developed and adapted using four scales, to assess internal knowledge sharing, new product selling, sales innovativeness, and empowerment. The data was analyzed by using the PLS-SEM method to examine the relationships between constructs. Results: As evidenced by the survey results, internal knowledge sharing positively impacts new product selling and sales department’s innovativeness, and empowerment is positively linked to internal knowledge sharing and, indirectly, to new product selling and sales department’s innovativeness. Conclusion: Managers should underpin different activities in order to enhance empowerment and internal knowledge sharing with the aim to affect companies’ performance in commercialization of a new product and sales department’s innovativeness. Future research could include moderator variables between the empowerment construct and the internal knowledge sharing construct and deepen the insight into the type of information shared, the dynamics of sharing and the barriers in the process, and other factors that positively affect knowledge sharing.

In this article, we highlight the role of strategic watch in aperspective of decision-making efficiency for a better optimization of governance, and thiswithin the framework of a limited study on five (5) Tunisian public organisms. An exploratorystudy was carried out through five semi-structured interviews. The results revealed that theuse of watch practices is essential for internal knowledge sharing, transparency andadministrative openness. A new frame work that tends to improve the decision-making system.It also allows the decision-maker to move from a state of self-satisfaction to a situation ofacceptance of his decision by his environment in a climate of optimal governance.

Purpose – The growing complexity of social systems and the faster technology evolution make central the role of the innovative information technology in complex organisations, geared towards collective intelligence processes among the various social actors and analytical tools. These are able to foster the participant knowledge, manage the feedback through a holistic approach and hence shift organisations from a plurality of voices to an interactive intelligence representing the ultimate identity of the organisation itself. In this regard, the aim of this paper is to offer a model for managing external and internal knowledge in order to support the viability of the organisation (system) in the longer term. Design/methodology/approach – The paper adopts the interpretative lens provided by Systems Thinking, System Dynamics and Viable System Approach (vSa) to investigate the challenging domain of the knowledge and information management for complex systems as organisations. Therefore, a qualitative and interpretative approach is carried out to reflect upon Big Data approaches and Collective Knowledge Systems (CKS), embracing a system perspective. Findings – The proposed conceptual model shows the crucial role covered by the holistic managing of the external and internal knowledge that permits to align the information variety of the organisation to the context and the entities that compose it in order to create harmonic relations. Leveraging on the concepts of vicariance, bricolage and exaptation, several advantages emerge that are correlated to the capacity of the complex system to reach a greater level of survival, by adapting and dynamically evolving itself. Originality/value – The paper shows how Systems Thinking and Viable System Approach can provide deep insights into the field of information technology, evidencing the systems thinking contribution in analysing, understanding and managing dimensions and paths of social dynamics. A contribution to previous studies is provided with reference to themes as Big Data, information and knowledge management.

Are politicians, especially members of the government, allowed to work in the private sector without a waiting period after their term of office? After all, such a change goes hand in hand with the "bad appearance" that the politician sells his internal knowledge from his tenure to the highest bidder, or had already aligned his actions to the interests of his future employer during his tenure. Legislators reacted to such discussions in the course of Gerhard Schröder's or Ronald Pofalla's post-official work in summer 2015. The present work analyzes whether the revision was necessary, but also whether it was sufficient, and tests the standards found on the basis of an empirical survey.

Неопределённость как универсальное свойство связано с языковыми и неязыковыми факторами, но практически всегда обусловлено позицией индивида, который выводит релевантный смысл в процессе познания и общения. The paper covers the markers of ambiguity which are considered to be inferred conventional or non-conventional implicit meaning components. It is asserted that ambiguity as a universal property is influenced by linguistic and extra-linguistic factors but practically always is affected by relevant «internal» knowledge an individual possesses and infers in the process of cognitive and communicative activities.
