This thesis evaluates Vietnam's experience with FDI to date and looks at what lessons can be drawn from the experiences of Malaysia and Singapore to help Vietnam deal with emerging problems. The thesis shows that Vietnam's experience with FDI has been successful in the following ways: a significant contribution to growth, constitute 63.1% of exports (2012), some advanced technology are transferred, creation a number of new jobs and improving the quality of domestic products, etc. The main issues for Vietnam, though are limited technological upgrading, disappointing employment performance, fierce competition, crowding out effects and domination of FDI firms in the domestic market, etc. The thesis argues that the Malaysian and Singaporean experiences suggest Vietnam should prioritize tax incentives for pioneer industries, particularly aspects of education; enhancing human capital and technology capacity; improvement of business environment and subsidiaries industry, etc.

The high operation cost of green building, insufficient informationization and automation management capability, and the lack of effective operation cost control seriously restrict the development of the industry and the realization of green goals. In order to solve the problem of insufficient capability of green building operation cost management, based on the digital twin technology in the manufacturing field, we analyze the characteristic requirements and theoretical basis of green building operation cost management for system, propose a green building operation cost management system based on digital twin, and refine the design of each structural layer of this system. It is necessary to set up a series of lines, although it takes a certain amount of time. There are four types of applications, namely, the number of types of applications, the completion of the effective number, the comparison of functions, and the implementation capabilities. The study shows that the proposed system framework can improve the efficiency and quality of green building operation cost management through technology upgrade and process optimization. The implementation of digital twin and human-machine collaboration is an advanced stage in the development of digital architecture because virtual things and real things, materials, and numbers are mutually promoting processes. The inspiration of this technological view for architecture is that digital twin and human-machine collaboration not only allow the interaction between virtual and reality and emphasize the feedback of actual construction to virtual simulation but also promote a kind of mutual promotion of human and machine thinking and construction ability.

Abstract Purpose: To compare the patient radiation doses during angiographic selective adrenal vein sampling (AVS) before and after a noise reduction imaging technology upgrade. Methods: In this retrospective single-center-study, cumulative air kerma (AK), cumulative dose area product (DAP), fluoroscopy time and contrast agent dosage were recorded from 70 patients during AVS. 35 procedures were performed before and 35 after a noise reduction imaging processing technology upgrade. Mean values were calculated and compared using an unpaired student’s t-test. DSA image quality was assessed independently by two blinded readers using a four-point Likert scale (1=poor; 4=excellent) and compared using Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: After the technology upgrade we observed a significant reduction of 35% in AK (1.7±0.7 vs. 1.1±0.7 Gy, p=0.01) and a significant reduction of 28% in DAP (235.1±113 vs. 170.1±94 Gy*cm2, p=0.01) in comparison to procedures before the upgrade. There were no significant differences between the number of exposure frames (143±86 vs. 132±61frames, p=0.53), fluoroscopy time (42±23 vs. 36±18 min, p=0.22), or the amount of contrast medium used (179.5±84 vs. 198.1±109 ml, p=0.41). There was also no significant difference regarding image quality (3 (2-4) vs. 3 (2-4), p=0.67). Conclusion: The angiographic noise reduction imaging technology upgrade significantly decreases the radiation dose during adrenal vein sampling without increasing time of fluoroscopy or contrast volume and without compromising image quality.

This paper focuses on essential oil (EO) extraction via steam distillation and the technological possibilities to enhance both operational and environmental performances. Steam distillation is the most common extraction method (93% of the worldwide volume), the opportunities in these production systems become a concrete target for improvements and are reflected in the businesses overall results. This paper brings the green extraction approach and the technology upgrade as an evolutionary path for this industry. A real process conception, in its current technology level, was assessed under the light of digital technology focus in order to enhance process effectiveness both in terms of material and energy balances, with direct effects over environmental performance and quality.

The pilot plant at the sport palace Palacus in Genoa is heated by a solar assisted heat pump, interfaced with a solar hybrid field and two integration gas burners. The heating system has been operating since 2012/13 and its performances have been collected almost continuously by means of a dedicated data acquisition system. The information and the experience acquired have been applied to the design of the revamping of the system, also considering the legislative changes occurred in Italy in the past decade, especially about photovoltaic production. The here presented case study allows the definition of some general design strategies to be implemented during the development of a new SAHP plant or when a revamping is required.

This study investigates the evolution of an admiring food processing plant. Agriculture is once the foundation of Taiwan. Agriculture has a great influence on the food processing industry as well. As a result, as agriculture grows, the food processing industry also develops rapidly. Later on, processed food export becomes important to Taiwan’s economy. Meanwhile, the food processing industry is also influenced by the political and economic environment profoundly. Woo Sun Food Factory Company (Woo Sun) is one of the greatest food processing company in Taiwan. Through the four transformations, Woo Sun upgrades technologies and lowers production costs together with the sales cost. Through studying the case study of Woo Sun, a representative food processing company in the Taiwan food industry, we know that management, developing strategies, and manufacturing technology upgrade are extremely important.
