Exclusive bus lanes have been widely regarded as an effective way to promote bus priority and improve the service quality, while they have not attracted more passengers to travel by bus in China. Also, more attention is usually paid to the infrastructure and facilities of exclusive bus lanes, but not much attention is paid to the passenger satisfaction of public transit with them. Therefore, this paper studies how to improve the service quality of public transit with exclusive bus lanes from a perspective of passenger satisfaction. A Structural Equation Model (SEM) was developed to investigate the mechanism of relationships between passenger satisfaction and the factors influencing the service quality of public transit with exclusive bus lanes. A total of 2087 respondents from Shanghai, China, participated in this study. Also, a comparison model of different groups using public transit including captive riders, choice riders, and captive by choice riders was established. Results show that passengers were dissatisfied with the current service of public transit with bus lanes, while they would prefer to take buses in the near future. In addition, travel environment, facilities, and convenience, rather than operational efficiency, had significant effects on passenger satisfaction. Through the comparison model, it was found that choice and captive by choice users might prefer public transit with bus lanes and captive users might be unable to bear the financial burden of private motorized travel. “Crowdedness in the buses on bus lanes during peak hours” especially for choice riders and “driving stability” especially for captive riders were the improvement direction for attracting more passengers to travel by bus. The results and the proposed policies of this study can benefit for the planning and operations of exclusive bus lanes in Shanghai and other similar cities around the world.

AbstractWe study an alternative approach to determine the final league table in football competitions with a premature ending. For several countries, a premature ending of the 2019/2020 football season has occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We propose a model-based method as a possible alternative to the use of the incomplete standings to determine the final table. This method measures the performance of the teams in the matches of the season that have been played and predicts the remaining non-played matches through a paired-comparison model. The main advantage of the method compared to the incomplete standings is that it takes account of the bias in the performance measure due to the schedule of the matches in a season. Therefore, the resulting ranking of the teams based on our proposed method can be regarded as more fair in this respect. A forecasting study based on historical data of seven of the main European competitions is used to validate the method. The empirical results suggest that the model-based approach produces more accurate predictions of the true final standings than those based on the incomplete standings.

Abstract This paper introduces a new approach to the sales comparison model for the valuation of real estate that can objectively estimate the coefficients associated with the explanatory price variables. The coefficients of the price adjustment process are estimated from the formulation of a quadratic programming model similar to the mean-variance model in the portfolio selection problem and are shown to be independent of the property to be valued. It is also shown that the sales comparison model should minimize the variance of the adjusted prices, and not their coefficient of variation as indicated by some national and international valuation regulations. The paper concludes with a case study on the city of Medellín, Colombia.

Adaptive diagnosis is an approach in which tests can be scheduled dynamically during the diagnosis process based on the previous test outcomes. Naturally, reducing the number of test rounds as well as the total number of tests is a major goal of an efficient adaptive diagnosis algorithm. The adaptive diagnosis of multiprocessor systems under the PMC model has been widely investigated, while adaptive diagnosis using comparison model has been independently discussed only for three networks, including hypercube, torus, and completely connected networks. In addition, adaptive diagnosis of general Hamiltonian networks is more meaningful than that of special graph. In this paper, the problem of adaptive fault diagnosis in Hamiltonian networks under the comparison model is explored. First, we propose an adaptive diagnostic scheme which takes five to six test rounds. Second, we derive a dynamic upper bound of the number of fault nodes instead of setting a value like normal. Finally, we present an algorithm such that at least one sequence obtained from cycle partition can be picked out and all nodes in this sequence can be identified based on the previous upper bound.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare the predictive value of the Altman z-score model of financial distress with the Zmijewski model. The research method used is descriptive quantitative in explaining the phenomena that occur. This study uses data from Bukopin's financial statements for 2018, 2019 and 2020. Data analysis is carried out by calculating the ratio of each model from 2018, 2019 and 2020, then the results of the criteria from the altman z-score model and the zmijewski model are compared and analyzed according to the criteria. The results showed that both the Altman z-score model and the Zmijewski model gave the same results, namely in the years to come the company has the potential to face bankruptcy. Keywords: Altman Z-Score; Zmijewski; Banking; Comparison Model.

Background. The introduction of the combined and sequential application of transosseous and intramedullary blocked osteosynthesis in limb lengthening requires an experimental study of the features of distraction regenerate. For small animals (in particular rabbits), special models are required.Aims. To develop experimental models of sequential and combined use of transosseous and intramedullary osteosynthesis in limb lengthening and substantiate their effectiveness.Materials and methods. A comparative study was carried out on 30 rabbits of the Soviet Chinchilla breed. Experimental models of sequential (EM-1) and combined (EM-2) application of transosseous and intramedullary osteosynthesis with preservation of the apparatus during the fixation period to simulate blockage were studied in the main groups. For comparison, sequential (comparison model 1 – CM-1) and combined (comparison model 2 – CM-2) use of transosseous and intramedullary osteosynthesis with dismantling of the apparatus at the end of distraction were modeled. The control was a regenerate formed according to the classical Ilizarov method. Radiographs were performed in dynamics, CT and morphological studies – at the end of the fixation period.Results. It was noted that regenerates of the same type in structure were formed in the EM-1 and CM-1 groups, as in the EM-2 and CM-2 groups. With successive methods, the spindle-shaped form of the regenerate prevailed, the formation of a pronounced periosteal component was noted. Powerful cortical plates, according to morphological studies, are formed from the periosteal and intermediate zones. With combined techniques, the cortical plates are formed thinner and predominantly from the periosteal component, the shape of the regenerate is closer to fusiform. In the comparison groups, the total time of surgical interventions was 25–50 % longer, in 50 % of cases there was a loss of length or deformation of the regenerate.Conclusions. The developed models of sequential and combined use of transosseous and intramedullary osteosynthesis for limb lengthening with preservation of fixation with an apparatus to simulate blocking have proven to be reliable in terms of fixation and easy to use on small laboratory animals..
