The amount of energy required to perform technological processes in agriculture largely depends on the size of the resistance to the displacement of the working bodies of machines. The main factor of energy consumption performing the technological process of potato harvesting is the resistance to the displacement of the digestive working body. In order to reduce the resistance to displacement an improved design of the digging body is proposed. An analytical study was conducted to determine the problem of moving the working body in the soil environment. The strength of the soil resistance is determined and the regularity of the influence on its change of parameters and the shape of the blade and separation parts of the digging working body is established. Calculations are made using the Mathematica application programm. The graphic dependences and contours of the isoline of the traction flange of the working part of the working body are obtained. Analysis of the calculations allowed to set the parameters of the surface of the dashboard, which provide a minimum of traction resistance. The schedule and contours of isolines of the change of the total resistance to the displacement of the soil mass with the tubers by the separation surface of the working organ in the function of the distance between the bars and the size of their intersection are also obtained. Analysis of the dependence of soil resistance and tubers on the separation surface indicates that an increase in the size of the geometric size of the intersection of the rods leads to a significant increase in the resistance of the medium. The material presented in the article can be used for analytical determination of the resistance of the excavation working body of potato harvesting machines of arbitrary geometric shape in the soil medium with tubers.

The objective of this paper is to present the efficiency of the separation process on a sieve with a conical separation surface, with a vertical shaft and having vibrational motion. Separation intensity curves of rape seeds through circular sieve apertures were drawn by regression analysis of the quantities of material separated at different distances from the central axis of the sieve, using the Gaussian distribution law. The coefficients of the regression equation and the correlation coefficient of the distribution function with experimental data show a high degree of correlation between them. The movement of the material on the sieve and the separation process, in general, was assessed by the position of the distribution curve maximum, depending on the material flow rate.

AbstractAccording to the increase in the rate of cesarean section and the increase of high-aged pregnancy, we seem to more often encounter cases with placenta previa and placenta previa accrete spectrum. There are concerns about these cases, such as difficulty in controlling bleeding from the separation surface of placenta previa, the need for hysterectomy as a life-saving procedure, systemic management and hemostasis during massive hemorrhage, and treatment of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). These cases are most frequently associated with cesarean hysterectomy.

The aim of the paper is to justify the design and rational parameters of the secondary post-treatment separator of potato heap in the form of a truncated cone with a rotating internal separating surface which ensures the separation of potato tubers from soil lumps commensurate with them. Based on the analysis of works devoted to the process of potato heap separation, including on inclined surfaces, as well as the analytical calculations, it was concluded that it is possible to create a device for separating potato tubers from soil lumps in the form of a rotating truncated cone with an internal separating surface. As a result of the research, the design of the secondary post-treatment separator of potato heap in the form of a rotating drum in the form of a truncated cone with a separating roller. Laboratory and field tests have shown that with appropriate adjustments, separation of up to 80% of soil impurities commensurate in size with potato tubers is provided.

This paper presents numerical scenarios concerning penetration in a lossy medium that can be obtained by radiating inhomogeneous electromagnetic waves. Former papers approached this problem, both analytically and numerically, finding requirements and limits of the so-called “deeppenetration” condition, which consists of a wave transmitted in a lossy medium having an attenuation vector whose direction forms the angle of ninety degrees with the normal to the separation surface. The deep-penetration condition always requires an oblique incidence, therefore is not practical in many applications. For this reason, we are interested here in finding whether an inhomogeneous wave guarantees larger penetration than the one obtainable with homogeneous waves, even when the incident wave is normal to the separation surface between two media, i.e. when the deep-penetration condition is not satisfied. We are also interested in verifying numerically whether the lossy-prism structure may achieve larger penetration than the one obtainable through traditional leakywave antennas, and we also wish to propose a lossy-prism design more realistic than the one previously presented in the literature.
