The epistemological challenges of the Anthropocene trouble distinctions of solid and fluid. In this contribution, the author proposes, after Gabrielle Hecht, that the nuclearity of the Anthropocene contributes significantly to destabilising these categories. Nuclear materials and ideas of nuclearity force (re)consideration of deep timescales and imperceptible processes, problematising fixed material ontologies. The article engages with nuclear matters and queries the logic of solids and fluids by developing the notion of elemental memory. An attention to elemental memory – an element’s capacity to auto-affect over time – reveals the inadequacy of terms like solid and fluid, and highlights the expressiveness of solid fluid substances. Empirically, the author demonstrates, first, how elemental memory informs the solid-fluid processuality of radioactive glasses, especially trinitite. Second, engaging with the work of artists Mari Keto and Erich Berger, she addresses the slow auto-transformations of radioactive minerals.

The purpose of this study is to explore the use of online platforms in online lectures during the Covid 19 pandemic, its strengths and weaknesses, constraints and solutions. The data were collected using a survey method by giving a questionnaire to 64 lecturer participants from all over Indonesia who were randomly selected. The results showed that lecturers were more likely to use familiar, familiar and easy-to-use platforms such as WhatsApp, followed by other platforms such as Zoom, Google Classroom while still carrying out technical implementation such as face-to-face learning such as lecture schedules on schedule, attendance attendance, fixed material referring to the RPS, evaluation of material with varied assignments and still seeking solutions to existing problems or constraints. The advantages of using online platforms include supporting the delivery of material in an attractive manner, smooth interaction, while the disadvantages are less interactive, less fluent lecture communication and tends to be one-way, wasteful of quotas, inadequate internet access, less than optimal understanding of material, and level of participation. low student. The use of online platforms in lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic requires both infrastructure and non-structural readiness to optimize the online lecture process during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstrak: Pada masa pandemi Covid-19 dosen dan mahasiswa dipaksa untuk beradaptasi dengan proses perkuliahan online dengan memanfaatkan berbagai platform online. AbstractBecause of difficulties during the fixation in space and the often reported enhanced expression of stress-related genes in space experiments, we investigated the possible effect of fixation on gene expression. Comparing two fixatives (RNAlater® and 70% ethanol), two-day-old Brassica rapa seedlings were either fixed by gradual exposure or immediate and complete immersion in fixative for two days. Neither fixative yielded high amounts of rRNA; RNAlater® resulted in higher RNA yield in shoot tissue but qPCR data showed higher yield in ethanol-fixed material. qPCR analyses showed strongly enhanced transcripts of stress-related genes, especially in RNAlater®-fixed material. The data suggest that fixation artefacts may be partially responsible for effects commonly attributed to space syndromes.

This study presents the life-dependent material parameters concept as applied to several well-known fatigue models for the purpose of life prediction under multiaxial and non-zero mean loading. The necessity of replacing the fixed material parameters with life-dependent parameters is demonstrated. The aim of the research here is verification of the life-dependent material parameters concept when applied to multiaxial fatigue loading with non-zero mean stress. The verification is performed with new experimental fatigue test results on a 7075-T651 aluminium alloy and S355 steel subjected to multiaxial cyclic bending and torsion loading under stress ratios equal to R = −0.5 and 0.0, respectively. The received results exhibit the significant effect of the non-zero mean value of shear stress on the fatigue life of S355 steel. The prediction of fatigue life was improved when using the life-dependent material parameters compared to the fixed material parameters.

Contemporary trains of thought largely denounce hylomorphism and a series of dichotomies of the past in favour of rather hybrid, all-inclusive and non-anthropocentric schemata. Yet, the former seem to still pervade our understanding of music and sound art in several respects. For many, composition is a primarily abstract process, musical instruments and audio-related technologies are fixed material means, and artists are creative individuals who are solely and primarily responsible for the artworks they produce. In this article a series of ad hoc and context-dependent compositional traits are scrutinised, with reference to theory as well as to actual artistic practice (both historical and contemporary), and are shown to transcend such assumptions in more or less straightforward ways. In particular, a series of practices is examined that revolves around material inquiry, anti-optimality, and hybrid, reflexive or ‘meta’ interfaces. More, DIWO (Do It With Others) approaches to composition are discussed and shown to echo adhocracy and contextual dependency in various respects and by means of emergent autopoiesis. Certain slants to DIWO are finally examined with respect to a series of powerful (in the author’s opinion) metaphors, namely emergence, transience and post-selfhood.

This article offers a syntactic analysis of the construction [be doneNP], e.g.I am done dinner, I am finished my homework, as found in Canadian English and some US dialects. After situating this construction in the context of a productive transitivebeperfect in Scots/English dialects, [be doneNP] will be distinguished from a set of its conceptual and structural relatives, and ultimately be shown not to be reducible to a surface realization of another underlying structure. From the perspective of syntactic theory, the article problematizes the parsimony of the mainstream generative approach (most recently in MacFadden & Alexiadou 2010) in accounting for the facts of [be doneNP] on strictly compositional grounds, as well as the mainstream view of lexical items as projecting theta grids and subcategorization frames (as e.g. in Grimshaw 1979; Emonds 2000). Following Fillmoreet al.(1988), Goldberg (1995, 2005) and others, what will be suggested instead is a construction grammar approach to [be doneNP], under which a construction holistically licenses its argument structure. Along these lines [be doneNP] will be characterized as an abstract construction with some fixed material.

Each system installed in the aircraft requires high accuracy . Aircraft maintenance will be able to be reliable if all maintenance support needs ergonomically designed . One factor that is needed in the laboratory is an ergonomic layout needs good facilities . The layout of the facility that will support in improving the accuracy required in aircraft maintenance . The purpose of this study is to determine and organize work area and all the optimal aircraft maintenance facilities . The method used is to use the ARC and the Work Sheet . Based on the results of the analysis using ARC and Work Sheet layout arrangement forms an ideal material for aircraft maintenance is fixed (fixed material location ) . While the treatment facility will be located around the main products, namely plane that is on the floor is desired perawatan. Hope STTA as sound institutions may have facilities aerospace aircraft maintenance practices are sufficient.
