Through the increasing use of unmanned aerial vehicles as remote sensing tools, shadows become evident in aerial imaging; this fact, alongside the higher spatial resolution obtained by high-resolution mounted cameras, presents a challenging issue when performing different image processing tasks related to urban areas monitoring. Accordingly, the state-of-the-art reported works can correct the shadow regions, but the heterogeneity between the corrected shadow and non-shadow areas is still evident and especially noticeable in concrete and asphalt regions. The present work introduces a local color transfer methodology to shadow removal which is based on the CIE L*a*b (Lightness, a and b) color space that considers chromatic differences in urban regions, and it is followed by a color tuning using the HSV color space. The quantitative comparison was executed by using the shadow standard deviation index (SSDI), where the proposed work provided low values that improve up to 19 units regarding other tested methods. The qualitative comparison was visually realized and proved that the proposed method enhances the color correspondence without losing texture information. Quantitative and qualitative results validate the results of color correction and texture preservation accuracy of the proposed method against other published methodologies.

Face recognizable proof has drawn in numerous scientists because of its novel benefit, for example, non-contact measure for include obtaining. Varieties in brightening, posture and appearance are significant difficulties of face acknowledgment particularly when pictures are taken as dim scale. To mitigate these difficulties partially many exploration works have been completed by considering shading pictures and they have yielded better face acknowledgment rate. A strategy for perceiving face utilizing shading nearby surface highlights is depicted. Test results show that Face ID approaches utilizing shading neighborhood surface highlights astonishingly yield preferred acknowledgment rates over Face acknowledgment approaches utilizing just shading or surface data. Especially, contrasted and grayscale surface highlights, the proposed shading neighborhood surface highlights can give great coordinating with rates to confront pictures taken under extreme varieties in enlightenment and furthermore for low goal face pictures. The other biometric framework utilizes palmprint as quality for the recognizable proof and validation of people. The principal point is to extract Haralick highlights and utilization of probabilistic neural organizations for confirmation utilizing palmprint biometric quality. PolyUdatabase tests are taken from around 200 clients every client's 2 examples are gained. This palm print biometric recognizes the phony (fake) palmprint made of POP (Plaster of paris) and separates among living and non-living dependent on the entropy highlight. Test results portray that the eleven Haralick feature values are acquired in execution stage and productive precision is accomplished.

This book is a study of French musical centralization and its discontents during the period leading up to and beyond the “provincial awakening” of the Belle Époque. The book explains how different kinds of artistic decentralization and regionalism were hard won (or not) across a politically turbulent century from the 1830s to World War II. In doing so, it redraws the historical map of musical power relations in France. Based on work in more than seventy archives, chapters on conservatoires, concert life, stage music, folk music, and composition reveal how tensions of state and locality played out differently depending on the structures and funding mechanisms in place, the musical priorities of different town councils, and the presence or absence of galvanizing musicians. Progressively, the book shifts from musical contexts to musical content, exploring the pressure point of folk music and its translation into “local color” for officials who perpetually feared national division. Controlling composition, on the one hand, and the emotional intensity of folk-based musical experience, on the other, emerges as a matter of consistent official praxis. In terms of “French music” and its compositional styles, what results is a surprising new historiography of French neoclassicism, bound into and growing out of a study of diversity and its limits in daily musical life.

Until 1864, provincial opera operated within a Napoleonic system designed to ensure hierarchically ordered provision for large and smaller towns nationwide and in the colonies. Discussion of how the system worked, how it was funded, how it served indirectly to erase regional difference, and how raw material from Paris (Grand Opera and the voice types it required) became too expensive, helps explain why the system was already at a breaking point by the 1830s, catalyzing heated local and local–national debates. The significance of provincial opera’s travails, its competitors in the entertainment sector from café-concert to radio, and the importance of two regional triumphs—Wagner and open-air opera—become clear in the light of this Paris-generated organizational history. Considerations of decentralization shift at this point to those of the tensions between genre of “national opera” and the centrifugal forces of cultural regionalism (with its attendant identitarian concerns), using the nature and significance of operatic “local color” as a test bed.

AbstractDigital cartoon production requires extensive manual labor to colorize sketches with visually pleasant color composition and color shading. During colorization, the artist usually takes an existing cartoon image as color guidance, particularly when colorizing related characters or an animation sequence. Reference-guided colorization is more intuitive than colorization with other hints, such as color points or scribbles, or text-based hints. Unfortunately, reference-guided colorization is challenging since the style of the colorized image should match the style of the reference image in terms of both global color composition and local color shading. In this paper, we propose a novel learning-based framework which colorizes a sketch based on a color style feature extracted from a reference color image. Our framework contains a color style extractor to extract the color feature from a color image, a colorization network to generate multi-scale output images by combining a sketch and a color feature, and a multi-scale discriminator to improve the reality of the output image. Extensive qualitative and quantitative evaluations show that our method outperforms existing methods, providing both superior visual quality and style reference consistency in the task of reference-based colorization.

The article examines the cycles of poems by the Ossetian poetess Z.A. Hostikoeva and Russian classic S.A. Yesenin, dedicated to the theme of the home, the father's home, mother, the motive of the path-road. No writer, regardless of the degree of talent, has yet been able to escape the beneficial influence of the heritage of the past in the field of artistic activity. Thus, the themes of true and eternal values in the work of the Ossetian poetess Z. Khostikoeva correlate with the theme of the home, the image of the mother and the motive of the path. In the cycle of works about the mother and father's house, as well as exploring the motive of the path, Khostikoeva continues Yesenin's poetic traditions, but refracts them according to personal and national experience, the peculiarities of local color. In the literature of many nations, in the works of many poets, Yesenin's "Letter to Mother" has become a schematic artistic and pictorial means. For a Russian poet, the lines of this poem are, according to the figurative definition of Yu.L. Prokusheva, "...an honest and courageous confession of a rebellious soul-seeking." So Khostikoeva in "Letters to Mother" uses poetic turns of speech that express boundless love, loyalty, delight, gratitude and respect for the mother. The article describes the ways of creative achievements of a bright, original Ossetian poetess, considers the genre, plot and psychological characteristics of some works, and emphasizes the need for further study of Khostikoeva's work in this context. The attempts of the Ossetian poetess to adopt the lyricism and imagery of S. Yesenin's poetry require scientific study.

Abstract Ferdinand Denis, Almeida Garrett, and Alexandre Herculano were European authors who, during the nineteenth century, formulated a meaning for local color below the equator, and contributed to a comparativism that geopolitically originated from the Old World, which created comparisons based on the representation of the New World chiefly derived from the supposed characteristics of its “nature.” This article will identify traces of the demand made by Ferdinand Denis (1798–1890) that the intellectual production of the Americas must reflect the effect of the nature that inspires us, and formulate local ideas derived from this nature, although from the nineteenth century onwards this opinion was challenged. It will also highlight the importance, for South America, at this moment in history when authoritarianism is rearing its head again, of using comparative approaches to study narratives that represent the period of military dictatorships in South America, as well as to critically analyze the issue of languages in postcolonial contexts in Latin America.

In the Covid-19 pandemic era, most of craft industries, including Buleleng endek ethnical woven crafts, had an impact on sales drastically. Woven craft industries did some preventive efforts, one of them was through enhancing ecofriendly industry branding, i.e. through intensifying yarn dying using natural colors from local raw materials. However, the main problems on color quality, color fastness, tensile strength and ductile ability of colored yarns resulted by natural dyeing should be handled. Our current finding on inorganic nanopaste fixator of natural colors could be as solution. The natural color dyeing technology was applied for cotton as well as silk yarn by using local color natural resources. It resulted that the yarns had better color quality, good grade color fastness and higher tensile strength and ductile ability. The industrial partner had good response on the natural dyeing technology, where it was also supported by good response from costumer candidates of the endek woven crafts. The revitalization of natural dyeing technology through applying inorganic fixator nanopaste affected the stronger branding of Buleleng endek woven crafts through enhancing the selling revenue.

This study aims to process the private medical data over eHealth cloud platform. The current pandemic situation, caused by Covid19 has made us to realize the importance of automatic remotely operated independent services, such as cloud. However, the cloud servers are developed and maintained by third parties, and may access user’s data for certain benefits. Considering these problems, we propose a specialized method such that the patient’s rights and changes in medical treatment can be preserved. The problem arising due to Melanoma skin cancer is carefully considered and a privacy-preserving cloud-based approach is proposed to achieve effective skin lesion segmentation. The work is accomplished by the development of a Z -score-based local color correction method to differentiate image pixels from ambiguity, resulting the segmentation quality to be highly improved. On the other hand, the privacy is assured by partially order homomorphic Permutation Ordered Binary (POB) number system and image permutation. Experiments are performed over publicly available images from the ISIC 2016 and 2017 challenges, as well as PH dataset, where the proposed approach is found to achieve significant results over the encrypted images (known as encrypted domain), as compared to the existing schemes in the plain domain (unencrypted images). We also compare the results with the winners of the ISBI 2016 and 2017 challenges, and show that the proposed approach achieves a very close result with them, even after processing test images in the encrypted domain. Security of the proposed approach is analyzed using a challenge-response game model.
