When merchants enter hybrid e-commerce platforms (such as JD.com and Amazon), they will face issues such as which sales methods to choose and whether to use platform logistics under different power structures. Different sales methods and logistics service strategies have resulted in three operating modes: (a) resale mode, marked as A, (b) agency + no-platform logistics, marked as B, and (c) agency + platform logistics, marked as C. This paper constructs an analysis framework composed of an e-commerce platform and a merchant to explore the optimal operating mode. The game models of the three modes are first constructed, and then, the equilibrium results are compared and analysed. Based on the results of comparative analysis and considering the dynamic game between the e-commerce platform and the merchant regarding sales methods and logistics service strategies, the optimal operating mode is determined. The results show that when the platform has absolute power, mode C is optimal for it. When the logistics service sensitivity coefficient and market size are both large, the best for the merchant with absolute power is mode B. In addition, if neither of them has absolute power, only when the merchant first decides the logistics service strategy, then the platform decides the sales method; the best for both parties is mode B; otherwise, the best is mode A. This research has generated new insights and has practical management significance, which can provide guidance for merchant and platform decision-making.

Currently, many online platforms participate in the recycling of waste products, and the online recycling of used mobile phones is especially popular. We explore the service strategy for and the factors influencing customers’ willingness of online recycling (CWOR) of used mobile phones. We develop a game model of a reverse supply chain comprising a mobile phone manufacturer (MPM) and an online recycling platform (ORP) to analytically examine the influencing factors of CWOR. We show that the MPM’s profit is mainly affected by CWOR and the ORP’s offered recycling service. The impacts of customers’ preferences of the recycling price and recycling service on the MPM’s profit depend on the service cost coefficient. The ORP’s profit is independent of its service cost and customers’ preference of the recycling service. However, the impact of the recycling commission is restricted by customers’ preference of the recycling price. We also use structural equation modelling to empirically show that recycling service and environmental consciousness positively affect CWOR, and environmental protection publicity enhances environmental consciousness. In addition, customers’ age and income moderate the recycling service–CWOR link. Our findings reveal that improving the recycling service can directly and indirectly promote the recycling of used mobile phones. These findings provide guidance to the government and businesses related to used mobile phone recycling.

Abstract Background Current guidelines recommend an early invasive strategy in patients with non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndromes (NSTE-ACS). However, the role of an invasive strategy in elderly patients remains controversial and may be difficult to achieve in spoke hospitals with no cath-lab facility. Purpose We aimed to analyze characteristics and outcomes of patients ≥80 years with NSTE-ACS admitted to spoke hospitals. Methods Observational retrospective study of all consecutive NSTE-ACS patients admitted to two spoke hospitals, where a service strategy (same-day transfer between spoke hospital and hub center with a cath-lab facility to perform coronary angiography) was available. Results From 2013 to 2017, 639 patients were admitted for NSTE-ACS in a spoke hospital of our provincial cardiology network; of these, 181 (28%) were ≥80 years (median 84, IQR 82–89). In the elderly conservative strategy was chosen in 76 patients (42%). When the invasive strategy was chosen, 104 patients (93%) were managed with a Service strategy with no major adverse event observed during the back transfer from the invasive center to the referring spoke center, whereas the rest of the patients (8, 7%) were transferred from the spoke hospital to the hub center and completed their hospital stay without returning to the spoke center. Of patients initially managed with the service strategy, a shift of strategy after the invasive procedure was necessary for 11 (10%) and the patients remained in the hub center. The median time to access to cath-lab was 50 hours (IQR 25–87), with 73 patients (70%) reaching the invasive procedure <72 h from the hospital admission and 23 (22%) <24 h. Conservative strategy was associated with older age, known previous CAD, clinical presentation with symptoms of LV dysfunction, lower EF, renal failure, higher GRACE score, presence of PAD, and atrial fibrillation (all p<0.03; Table). At 1-year follow-up, the overall survival was significantly higher in patients treated with invasive strategy compared to patients managed conservatively (94%±2 vs. 54%±6, p<0.001; HR: 10.4 [4.7–27.5] p<0.001; Figure), even after adjustment for age, serum creatinine, known previous CAD and EF (adjusted HR: 2.0 [1.0–4.0]; p<0.001). Conclusion An invasive strategy may confer a survival benefits in the elderly with NSTE-ACS. When the invasive strategy is chosen, the same-day transfer between spoke hospital and hub center with the cath-lab facility (service strategy) is safe and granted the access to cath-lab in a timely fashion even in the elderly. Fulfilling the need for clean water and proper sanitation is, globally, a basic human requirement, and Indonesia is no exception. Clean water and adequate sanitation are the sixth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and targets include to ensure the availability of clean water and sustainable sanitation for all by 2030. The achievement of targets in water supply and sanitation in Indonesia is still lagging behind other fields. There are differences in the ease of obtaining access to clean water sources in urban and rural areas, especially for rural communities living on peatlands who experience issues in being provided with clean water. The difficulty is that, even though the amount of available water is relatively large, its quality is low. Barriers to the equitable distribution of services by the government to the entire community are caused by the limited availability of funding, the geographical conditions of scattered settlements, and the limited capacity of human resources. As a result of this problem, it is necessary to formulate a management strategy for providing access to clean water and sanitation for rural communities on peatlands. This research uses the case-study method. The management strategy was formulated on the basis of the environmental and socioeconomic conditions of the community. This method was used to test the effectiveness of the formulated strategy in realizing water security on peatlands in the village of Wajok Hilir. The resulting management strategy can be applied to other villages that have the same land characteristics. The strategy to realize water security for rural communities on peatlands is a self-service strategy. The implementation of the self-service strategy needs to be supported by infrastructure in the form of peat water treatment plant buildings, wells drilled to aquifer depths, and canal blocking to control the groundwater level in peatlands. The management strategy is carried out with community participation, considering that peatlands are a potential water source to meet clean water needs and achieve sustainable water security targets. Efforts to implement the self-service strategy are carried out with these methods: (1) socialization carried out in an integrated manner, (2) infrastructure development as a pilot project, (3) providing knowledge about infrastructure operations, (4) providing temporary assistance to the community, and (5) providing material supplies so that rural communities that are partners can become pioneers of similar movements.

The COVID-19 pandemic, which has occurred for almost 2 years, has infected more than 200 countries in the world, has made hospital conditions change the service strategy provided. Services that are usually provided during normal times, must change conditions starting from screening patients on arrival until the service ends. When referral hospitals are trying to save patients infected with COVID-19, other hospitals, especially dental and oral hospitals, also participate in removing this nation from the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic, although they do not directly treat COVID-19 patients. By using descriptive qualitative research methods, researchers can obtain deeper information from a case study at a special dental and oral hospital, which usually only provides dental services. The purpose of this study was to get an overview of the efforts made by dental and oral hospitals in providing services to the community in an effort to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19. The results obtained are an evaluation of the increase in the number of patients and dental emergency room services, the implementation of tracing and testing for all hospitalians, as well as providing vaccination services, which are things that special dental and oral hospitals can do in participating in taking part and breaking the chain of transmission of COVID-19.
