Seed propagation is one of the main methods of rhododendron planting stock. Obtaining of the seeds from introduced plants (native reproduction) is very important for successful introduction. In Rhododenron schlippenbachii and R. luteum the structural features of the ovule before pollination, the development of the embryo, endosperm, and seed coat are studied. The studied species are characterized by heterospermy. Mature seeds differ in shape, size, internal structure, and vitality. Seeds in ripe fruits can be divided into 3 fractions. Large seeds often contain an embryo, an endosperm with an endosperm cavity, and later usually germinate. In the seeds of the middle fraction, the endosperm is usually not fully formed, and the embryo may be absent. Small seeds are mainly represented by preserved integument and chalaza cells with thickened cell walls, without signs of the development of embryonic structures. Seeds of medium and, especially, small fractions of R. luteum often lack a wing border, which is present in large seeds of this species. In them, as well as in some of the seeds of the large fraction of both species, secretory cells are formed in the base of funicular region of raphe, which, possibly, perform the function of elaiosomes.

The article substantiates the need to improve the elements of technology for growing varieties of soft winter wheat, taking into account the size of the seed material and weather conditions of the growing season. It is determined that along with varietal properties, the use of pre-prepared seeds for sowing has an impact on its sowing properties, field germination, growth and development of plants, their formation of elements of productivity and grain yield. The study was conducted on five registered varieties of soft winter wheat 'Tsarychanka', 'Karmelyuk', 'Sidir Kovpak', 'Dykanka' and 'Sanzhara' in the agro-climatic zone of the central part of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The results of research showed that the highest field germination of seeds have the variety 'Karmelyuk' for sowing shallow and medium fraction of seeds (94 and 90%, respectively), and the variety 'Dykanka' - sowing medium and large fraction (95 and 86%, respectively). The percentage of germination of seeds of varieties 'Tsarychanka', 'Sanzhara' is almost at the same level 82 and 89, respectively. The highest indicators of elements of structure of an ear are found at the varieties 'Karmelyuk' - 30,5 pieces of grains in an ear, for its weight in an ear of 0,86 g, 'Dykanka' - 30,6 pieces of grains in an ear, for its weight in an ear 0, 87. The use of seeds of the middle fraction for sowing provided the highest yield of varieties 'Karmelyuk', 'Dykanka' which amounted to 4.7 t / ha. When sowing seeds of a large fraction, the highest yields were obtained by 'Dykanka' and 'Sanzhara' varieties - 4.8 and 4.9 t / ha, respectively. The aim of the study. To determine the influence of seed fraction on sowing qualities, variability of yield elements of soft winter wheat varieties. The experiment was conducted in the central forest-steppe of Ukraine, using general research methods studied in agronomy The material for the study were winter wheat varieties of Poltava State Agrarian Academy: "Tsarchanka", "Karmelyuk", "Sidir Kovpak", "Dykanka" and "Sanzhara". Sowing of the studied varieties was carried out with seeds selected on sieves and divided into fractions: shallow (1), medium (2), large (3), and mixture (4). Agrotechnics in the study are generally accepted for the soil-climatic zone of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The increase in the weight of 1000 grains was significantly influenced by sowing with the middle fraction of seeds, which is characteristic of the variety 'Sidir Kovpak' (50.4 g), large - 'Tsarychanka' (52.5 g), 'Dykanka' (49.2 g) and 'Sanzhara' (48.4 g), for the variety 'Karmelyuk' the weight of the grain increases when sown with a mixture of seeds (52.0 g). It was determined that the size of the seed material had an impact on the elements of the structure of the ear of corn and grain size. Thus, the variety 'Tsarichanka' formed 26.8 pieces. grains in the ear, for its weight of 0.65 g when sown by the average fraction of seeds, variety 'Karmelyuk' on the same variants of the experiment, respectively - 30.5 pcs. and 0.86 g, grade 'Sidir Kovpak' - 27.4 pcs. and 0.85 g, 'Dykanka' - 30.6 pcs. and 0.86 g. For these varieties, the dependence is established: sowing in shallow and large fractions, as well as a mixture of seeds reduces the number and weight of grains from the ear. In the variety 'Sanzhara' revealed a maximum increase in the number of grains from the ear to 26.8 pieces. and the mass of grain from the ear of 0.88 g in the options for sowing a large fraction of seeds Yields of the studied varieties of winter wheat depending on the size of the seed material varied in the range from 3.08 to 4.86 t / ha, with the highest value in option 3 (large seeds) in the varieties 'Sanzhara' (4.9 t / ha) and 'Dykanka' (4.8 t / ha), on option 2 (average seed) 'Karmelyuk' (4.67 t / ha), 'Sidir Kovpak' (4.29 t / ha) and 'Tsarychanka' - 4 .0 t / ha. It was found that the yield of all studied varieties of winter wheat has a strong correlation with seed size and number of grains in the ear (r> 0.70), the average correlation between the weight of 1000 grains and grain yield was found in varieties' Tsarychanka ',' Karmelyuk 'and' Dykanka '(r = 0.31… 0.69). In the variety 'Sanzhara', the weight of the grain from the ear and the yield have a rectilinear correlation of medium strength.

Triticale is a promising agricultural crop. The increased content of protein, balanced by the amino acid composition, advantageously distinguishes triticale seed for peeled grains and food concentrates production. Seed cleaning is an important technological operation of food productions, but setting regimes of seed-cleaning equipment for processing triticale seed need specification today. The aim of this work is to study geometric and physical characteristics of four-type triticale seed and elaboration of recommendations as to its cleaning and fractionating. There was studied the fractional composition of four-type triticale seed. The comparative analysis of its length, width and thickness in samples of different sorts and fractions was realized. The dependence of geometric properties of triticale seed on sort is reliable. Fractionating reliably influences the change of the mass index of 1000 seeds, changing from 65,2 g to 25,8 g. The mass index of 1000 seeds essentially differs between studied sorts. Such properties are inherent to seed fractions, obtained by a sieve of 3,2–20 mm and 3,0–20 mm, that are recommended to be called big seeds. Fractions, obtained by a sieve of 2,0–20 and 2,2–20 are analogously similar. Properties of the middle fraction, obtained by sieves of 2,4–20; 2,6–20; 2,8–20 essentially changed, depending on sort. The elaborated recommendations may be used at choosing cleaning regimes for triticale seed on sieve and sieve-air separators.

У статті представлено результати досліджень, проведених протягом 2014–2016 рр. на дослідному полі кафедри рослинництва, селекції та біоенергетичних культур ДП ДГ «Корделівське» ІК НААН України щодо впливу глибини загортання та розмірів фракції насіння на продуктивність, вміст та вихід крохмалю, орієнтовний вихід біоетанолу у гібридів кукурудзи. Урожайність, вміст крохмалю та вихід біоетанолу із зерна досліджуваних гібридів кукурудзи визначалися групою стиглості, генетичними особливостями та елементами агротехніки, такими як фракція насіння та глибина його загортання. Подовження веґетаційного періоду забезпечувало зростання досліджуваних показників. Продуктивність рослин досліджуваних гібридів кукурудзи в середньому за три роки досліджень склала 9,128 т/га, за посіву насіння на глибину 7 см – 9,093 т/га, 11 см – 8,961 т/га. Застосування неглибокого загортання насіння (4 см) сприяло виходу біоетанолу в межах 3,23–4,11 тис. л/га, застосування середньої глибини загортання (7 см) – 3,21–4,23 тис. л/га, а застосування значної (11 см) глибини загортання – 3,11-4,17 тис. л/га. Використання великої та середньої фракції насіння позитивно впливає на підвищення урожайності, крохмалистості та виходу біоетанолу із зерна в порівнянні із дрібною фракцією насіння. The article presents the results of research conducted during 2014–2016 on the experimental field of the Plant Growing, Selection and Bioenergetic Cultures Department of the State Enterprise «Kordelivs’ka», IC of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on the influence of the covering depth and the size of the seed fraction on the productivity, content and output of starch, the approximate output of bioethanol in hybrids of corn. The yield, starch content and bioethanol output from the studied corn grains hybrids were determined by a group of ripeness, genetic features and elements of agrotechnics, such as the seed fraction and the its covering depth. Lengthening of the growing season provided the growth of the studied indicators. The productivity of plants of studied corn hybrids, on average over three years of research, is 9,128 tons/ha, at sowing to a depth of 7 cm – 9,093 tons/ha, and at sowing to a depth of 11 cm – 8,961 tons/ha. The use of non-deep covering of seeds (4 cm) contributed the bioethanol output in the range of 3,23–4,11 thousand liters/ha, the middle (7 cm) – 3,21–4,23  thousand liters/ha and deep (11 cm) – 3,11–4,17 thousand liters/ha. The use of the large and middle fraction of seeds influences positively on the increase in yield, starch and the bioethanol output from grain in comparison with the small fraction of seeds.

Many catalytic processes to refine heavy part of crude oil have attracted much interest due to declining reserves of light crude oils. This study focused on hydrocracking process of atmospheric distillable residue of Mongolian crude oil in the first time compared to those of other countries. Residue samples were hydrocracked with a commercial catalyst at 450°C, 460°C, 470°C for 2 h under hydrogen pressure of 10 MPa. The amount of residual fraction (350°C<BP) decreased to 9.4wt% by the hydrocracking of atmospheric distillable residue from Tamsagbulag crude oil. When the ME-AR was hydrocracked, the high consumption of hydrogen was related to the lowest H/C atomic ratio of feed atmospheric residue. The amount of liquid fractions (BP<350°C) including gaseous products increased from 45.4wt% to 89.2wt%, when the reaction temperature increased from 450°C to 470°C. The highest yield of the middle fraction for each sample was observed at temperature of 460°C. On the other hand, the effect of temperature on the yield of middle fraction was not so high as compared with the yields of other fractions. The contents of n-paraffins on midlle and heavy fractions of TB-AR, DQ-AR were similar, but ME-AR’s was around 2 times lower than other after hydrocracking runs.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5564/mjc.v12i0.166 Mongolian Journal of Chemistry Vol.12 2011: 24-28

In this paper, emulsification study on bio-oil middle fraction and diesel was carried out. Mechanical and ultrasound emulsification technologies were used to prepare emulsion fuels between bio-oil middle fraction and diesel with different hydrophile and lipophile balance (HLB) values. It was found that the stability curve of emulsions had two peaks corresponding to the HLB values of 4.3 and 6, respectively. Comparable to the mechanical emulsions, the ultrasound emulsions had longer stable time. The stable time for ultrasound emulsions at the HLB values of 4.3 and 6 were 215 minutes and 143 minutes, respectively. Then the effects of surface tension and droplet size distribution on the stability of emulsions were investigated. It was found that the emulsion fuels with lower surface tension and smaller droplet size had longer stable time.
