AbstractThis case study describes the Desafío TEP project, which arose from a public-private alliance between the Arauco Educational Foundation, the Center for Advanced Research in Education (CIAE) from the University of Chile, and the Andalién Sur Local Public Education Service (SLEP). The goal of the project is to develop a model for the prevention of school exclusion (resulting from repetition and dropout) in public schools.Although the initiative was in consideration to be suspended due to the closure of schools across the country caused by COVID-19, instead the proposal was completely redesigned, recognizing that the pandemic would increase the problems of school exclusion. The innovations generated in this redesign are anticipated to lead to long-term sustainability and scalability in the region through cost reductions and the promotion of remote interactions between different establishments working in networks, such as the SLEP, the schools, and the teams from the CIAE and Arauco Educational Foundation. This network is further supported by the actors in the educational system of the territory.

Wahidin Sudirohusodo Medan. This study uses a non-probability sampling method. The research respondents were all junior high school teachers at the educational foundation dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Medan, amounting to 75 (seventy-five) teachers using the census method. The instrument used was a questionnaire to collect data from competency variables, organizational culture variables, work environment variables, and performance variables. The data analysis technique used is the validity test, reliability test, descriptive analysis, multicollinearity test, normality test, multiple linear analysis, multiple linear correlation coefficient test, t test, F test, and calculation of the coefficient of determination. Descriptive analysis results for competency variables, organizational culture variables, work environment variables and performance variables are in the very good category. Based on the partial analysis, competence, organizational culture and work environment have a positive and significant effect on the performance of teachers in junior high schools at the educational foundation dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Medan. The F test shows that competency, organizational culture and work environment simultaneously influence the performance of teachers in junior high schools at the educational foundation dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Medan. Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) has a fragmented education system which is resistant to progressive changes. Therefore, implementing a program such as the Philosophy for Children (P4C) may make a significant impact on the lives of students and their teachers. In this paper, we discuss some potential benefits of the program and anecdotal evidence of its efficacy in two B&H schools. The TPO Foundation, an NGO from Sarajevo -Transcultural Psychosocial Educational Foundation (TPO Fondacija, Equal opportunities and freedom of choice without discrimination on any ground), which has organized the first training in P4C for teachers from several cantons in B&H, is working on creating a framework for initiating the implementation of philosophy for children in cantonal education systems in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This paper includes two cases of the implementation of P4C in two schools, through school courses, namely Religious Studies and English Language. The results of the study showed the program is very interesting to students and has a potential to improve school effectiveness in multiple ways. The findings of this study may help instructors to plan and organize their classes to acquire educational objectives in good and productive classroom atmosphere.

In the aftermath of World War II, Einstein urged scientists to develop a substantively new thinking, lest we suffer a technology-enabled self-destruction. In this chapter, we will unfold the emerging scientific findings that serve as vectors, pointing to the same conclusion: the educational foundation that has brought about Industry 5.0 is causal to brain development that not only undermines our ability to address our emerging complex societal challenges, but biases us toward inhumane logic. We will outline a science of holism, the profoundly new thinking urged by Einstein. This science is rooted in nature’s ontology of dynamic complexity. An engineering education reflecting this new thinking will be described along with the novel developmental capacities afforded by it. The chapter will end by considering questions that need to be resolved to manifest such a radical shift in engineering education.

This study aims to analyze the effect of competence and facilities have a positive and significant effect on teacher’s performance at Haji Masri Darul Ilmi Murni Islamic Educational Foundation, Namorambe District, Deli Serdang Regency. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with several tests, that are the classical assumption test and multiple linear regression. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that competence (X1) has a t-count value of 3.263 and a t-table of 1.663 when compared to t-count, the results are 3.263> 1.663, so it can be concluded that competence has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (Y). The facility (X2) has a t-count of 5.595 when compared to the t table, the result is 5.595>1.663, so it can be concluded that the facilities have a positive and significant effect on teacher’s performance (Y). Simultaneously, competence and facilities have a positive and significant influence on teacher’s performance. This means that the hypothesis in this study is accepted, proved by the calculated F value > F table (75.790 > 3.11). The results of the coefficient of determination indicate that competence and facilities have an influence on teacher’s performance by 65.2%, while the remaining 34.8% is influenced by other variables which are not examined in this study.

Anxiety is a problem that arises from the gap between expectations and reality. Many factors influence mathematical anxiety (MA), one of which is the availability of educational infrastructure. Although MA has been widely researched, only a few studies have explored how gender and the availability of educational infrastructure form the basis for analyzing MA. By knowing student MA, it will help teachers to provide alternative educational foundation based on their gender analysis. This research aims to examine student MA based on gender and the availability of educational infrastructure. This research involved 450 senior high school students in East Java, Indonesia. The data were processed using univariate analysis. The results of the study reveal that gender does not significantly influence student MA, while educational infrastructure significantly influences students MA. There is no interaction between gender and educational infrastructure on student MA. It is implied that, by understanding the student MA, it allows teachers to guide students who have an MA based on their area of origin according to the level of availability of educational infrastructure.

Purpose: To verify the change of rules and routines of management accounting of a third sector organization in the light of the Old Institutional Economy (OIE). Methodology: To analyze the institutional change in management accounting, documentary, descriptive and qualitative research was carried out. The research was carried out at a private educational foundation in Santa Catarina, selected for being a member of the third sector and for its accessibility. Data collection took place through interviews and documents, between the months of September 2018 and February 2019. For data analysis, qualitative content analysis was used. Results: In the institutional approach, the change in management accounting for the Foundation was classified as formal, revolutionary and progressive. The institutionalization of management accounting rules and routines was promoted by the need for management to have more agile and secure tools to support decision making. The rules and routines of management accounting have been modified and / or abandoned, over time, with the reconfiguration of existing practices, for their innovation. The integration of the Foundation’s systems based on the standardization and sharing of accounting and tax information has provided an improvement in the quality of information, better integration with the tax authorities and faster access to information, giving rise to more efficient, safe and useful management controls. Contributions of the Study: The research contributes to the accounting literature by presenting empirical evidence on the process of institutionalization of management accounting over time, in Brazilian third sector organizations, suggesting new studies. As a practical contribution, there is the possibility of improving the management models of third sector organizations through the understanding of the dynamics used in the process of change in management accounting, by the agents involved.
