Early detection of people with a high-risk of developing cardiovascular diseases is a key point of the prevention strategy. The existing risk scales have a number of limitations: insufficient accuracy for an individual or the appearance of a “residual risk”. Existing approaches to improving the accuracy of risk prediction include the use of biomarkers. Troponin I is promising, which has proven its prognostic value in healthy and asymptomatic individuals at the population level. For example, the BiomarCARE study with the participation of 74 thousand people from 5 countries showed an association of increased troponin I concentration and the frequency of cardiovascular events and overall mortality. Similar results were obtained in other cohorts. The simulation results indicate the potential economic feasibility of using troponin I for the purpose of risk stratification. The first pilot Russian study was conducted, which made it possible to describe the population distribution of troponin levels. It confirmed the prognostic significance of the biomarker in relation to the development of cardiovascular outcomes in men in the Russian population. Further studies on large cohorts are needed to clarify the results of the pilot project.

This essay aims to contribute to the understanding of the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on a Norwegian- Russian social work research project. The reflexive act of writing about the project’s disrupted startup is an exercise of flexibility and dynamics in the research process. Well known grips for those of us working with qualitative inquiry. Still, the unpredictable landscape, uncertainty of what would come next, and the insecurity in the present moved us as researchers towards new local and contextual knowledge, forced by the pandemic’s extensive effects.

The main purpose of the pioneered Russian study was to compare tolerance of head-to-foot g-loads (+Gz) by female and male subjects rotated on a short-arm centrifuge before and after 8-d isolation using the subjective and objective data. Results of the investigation demonstrated compatibility of g-tolerance by men and women. However, during the runs before isolation heart rate in female subjects grew significantly in comparison to the male subjects. Though higher in women, dynamics of blood pressure measured at the earlobe and arm was not statistically different from the male data.

The article analyzes and systematizes results of Russian research in German and Russian Expressionism for the past 17 years. The focus of the author are both great collective research projects on history and theory of Russian and German literature, which includes Expressionism as an integral part of the literary process, and individual studies of literary critics and linguists. The geography of Russian study of Expressionism covers research centers in Universities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Nizhni Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, Samara and in Austrian libraries (Yekaterinburg, Nizhni Novgorod). The research has four main directions. The first, the most traditional, focuses its forces on the study of new literary material and personalities, unknown literary texts and historical and literary facts. The second direction works with well-known texts, but operates with the latest scientific tools and provides a different understanding of the known material. The third direction is interdisciplinary and uses synthetic methods. The fourth is the comparative and typological direction, an important part of which is translation theory and practice.

The article is devoted to the outcomes of the first Russian study of subjective well-being in graduates of orphan organizations living in various settings: orphan institutions, specialized housing facilities, dormitories of vocational education organizations, as well as in rented or assigned housing. It is shown that the level of subjective well-being depends on the possibility of preserving the stereotypes of living arrangements and relationships formed in the orphanage: the lower the level of requirements for independence, and the real autonomy of housing, the higher the proportion of graduates with a high level of subjective well-being. It is proved that the graduates’ attitude to self is related to living conditions. Those graduates who live with constant pedagogical support are more satisfied with themselves as compared to other groups, cope better with difficulties and overcome stressful situations more effectively. Low resilience and high victimization are characteristic of those who return to assigned housing. Living in state housing is what promotes growing up the most, and so does renting a house on one’s own.
