Background: One of the theories about hemolytic anemia concerns foot-strike on the ground. Rope jump exercise training (RJET) is performed with high foot-strike repetitions on the ground. Objectives: This paper aimed to study the possible effect of RJET on hematological parameters involved in hemolysis. Methods: Twenty obese adolescent boys with a mean age of 13.40 ± 1.09 years were allocated into two equal groups of control and RJET (n = 10 each). The RJET group performed simple rope jumping for eight weeks (three days a week). Blood samples were collected before and after the protocol. Independent t-test and Mann-Whitney U test were used for data analysis. Results: Our findings showed no significant inter-group differences for erythrocyte, platelet, and leukocyte parameters. However, given the effect of time, a significant reduction was observed in monocyte count in the RJET group. In contrast, eosinophil count significantly increased after RJET. Conclusions: According to the results, foot striking induced by RJET had no adverse effect on hemolytic anemia in obese adolescent boys.

Objective. To explore the training methods of developing the special strength of Chinese male triple jumpers through the experimental study of nine male triple-jumpers who performed step takeoff and depth long jump on the force platform. Methods. Through the combination of high-velocity shooting and a three-dimensional force measuring platform, the data of the athletes’ full run-up and depth jump landing, horizontal velocity, vertical velocity, takeoff time, landing angle, takeoff angle, and strength were obtained. In this study, the kinematics characteristics of four slopes with different slopes of 25 cm and 35 cm were studied. Kinematics’ data was measured by a high-velocity video camera. Results. The vertical velocity of the 35 cm platform is obviously less than that of the 25 cm platform p < 0.01 . The 25 cm platform is better at developing vertical, rapid takeoff ability, especially the fourth slope of this height, which is the fastest from horizontal velocity and vertical speed. All the depth jump practice ground angles are larger than the whole step jump, and the off-ground angle is smaller than the step jump, the takeoff time is larger than the step jump, which indicates that the athletes takeoff range is larger and the takeoff time is longer, and the results are in greater stimulation intensity of lower limb muscles. Conclusion. The 25 cm high platform depth jump exercise has achieved a better takeoff effect. Among the four slope depth jump exercises on this high platform, the 6.84 slope takeoff effect is the best.

BACKGROUND: Repetitive stretch-shortening cycle exercises generate high rates of mechanical work and consequently induce substantial muscular fatigue related to delayed neuromuscular functions. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the neuromuscular impairment after high-intensity exercise protocols involving different gravity loads in stretch-shortening cycle – running (RUN) and vertical jumps (VJ). METHODS: Twenty-two healthy men, divided into two groups, VJ and RUN participated in this study. The individuals performed a training session involving six bouts of 30 s of VJ or RUN. The isokinetic PM (PM) of the knee extensors and flexor muscles, rate of perceived exertion and delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) were evaluated at pre, post, 24 h and 48 h post-training. RESULTS: The concentric and eccentric PM of the extensor in the RUN group was reduced until 24 h, while in the VJ a decrement was observed until 48 h. Following running, the PM of the flexors decreased until 48 h, while for VJ there was an eccentric PM decrement at 48 h. The DOMS increased at the anterior thigh and only after VJ training for 48 h. CONCLUSION: Acute and delayed neuromuscular impairment may be observed after both exercise regimens, but high-intensity training using vertical jumps seems to induce a more pronounced impairment than running.

The Effect of Single Leg Bound and Split Jump Exercises on the Back Service Ability of the Sepak Takraw Klub Academy Sepak Takraw Foundation (ASTF) Dukuhseti". Faculty of Social and Sport Sciences Education, PGRI University Semarang in 2020. This research was motivated by the unfavorable condition of the ASTF Dukuhseti club's Sepak takraw training, this is seen from there are still many athletes who have not mastered the technique of doing tekong or back service properly and many do not cross the net while serving. In addition, the Tekong pedestal is still weak to support when serving, so that the footstool steps on or comes out of the service circle. The purpose of this study was to determine how the effect of single leg bound and split jump training on the back service ability of the Sepak Takraw Club Academy Sepak Takraw Foundation (ASTF) Dukuhseti. This research method is an experimental research method with the design "two groups prestest-posttest design". Group A was treated with single leg bound exercise and Group B was treated with split jump exercise. The population of this study were athletes from the ASTF Dukuhseti club aged 12-20 years. The sample used was all 16 athletes of the ASTF Dukuhseti club tekong club, the samples were taken using purposive sampling technique and group division using the original pairing technique. The instrument used in this study was back service. The data analysis technique used the Kolmogorov-Smirno normality test and the homogeneity test, then the final analysis used the t-test. The results of this study, the single leg bound exercise t-test showed the value = -13,981 with sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05 while the split jump exercise t-test shows the value of t = -8.275 sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05. So that single leg bound training is effective for improving the ability to serve takraw backs. The conclusion from this study is that the single leg bound training method is more effective for improving the ability of the back service of the Sepak Takraw to the ASTF Dukuhseti club athletes, compared to the split jump exercise, this is evidenced by the data obtained by the increase in single leg bound training by 41.25% and increased training. split jump of 18.75% or (41.25%> 18.75%). The suggestion that can be given to the ASTF Dukuhseti club's Sepak takraw athletes is to always try to practice improving the service ability of the Sepak Takraw back so that they can achieve achievements.               Abstrak Aditya Ilham. “Pengaruh Latihan Single Leg Bound Dan Split Jump Terhadap Kemampuan Servis Punggung Sepak Takraw Klub Academy Sepak Takraw Foundation (ASTF) Dukuhseti”. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05.

To examine the efficacy of wild ginseng extract (WGE) on psychomotor and neuromuscular performance recovery following acute eccentric exercise. This study was a double-blind, crossover, and placebo-controlled design with a 14-day washout period. Ten male adults, aged 27.1 ± 4.33 years old, voluntarily participated in the study. Subjects were assigned to one of two parallel conditions (WGE or placebo) in a counterbalanced manner. Subjects consumed two packs of WGE (350 mg/package) or placebo drink immediately after acute eccentric exercise and the following four days. The eccentric exercise consisted of 20 min of downhill running at 60% of VO2peak and five sets (of 20) of drop jump exercise. Computer-based cognitive function test and neuromuscular performance tests, including straight leg raise, vertical jump, isometric leg strength, and anaerobic power test were administered four times, at baseline, 2 h, 48 h, and 96 h after acute exercise. The interleukin-6 (IL-6), myoglobin, cortisol, total antioxidant capacity (TAC), and perceived muscle soreness were also assessed at each time point. A significance level was set at 0.05. No significant differences between the WGE and the placebo groups were observed in psychomotor and neuromuscular performance variables. Blood markers, including IL-6 (p = 0.013), myoglobin (p < 0.001), and cortisol level (p = 0.047) were changed significantly across the time. A post-hoc test revealed that a significant increase in IL-6 was observed only in the placebo group (p = 0.014), while no significant changes found in the WGE condition. The perceived muscle soreness was not different between the WGE and the placebo conditions. The administration of WGE immediately after acute eccentric exercise and the following four days have no benefits on psychomotor and neuromuscular performance recovery in healthy adults. However, the acute WGE supplementation may attenuate the eccentric exercise-induced inflammatory process, such as IL-6, but future study with a large sample size is required to clarify the anti-inflammation process in response to acute eccentric exercise.

This study aimed to assess the effects of jump training on the jumping performance of handball players compared with a control condition. The data sources utilised were PubMed, MEDLINE, Web of Science Core Collection and SCOPUS. Only peer-review randomised controlled trials were included. The inclusion criteria comprised: a jump training programme of at least 2 weeks; a control group; the assessment of the countermovement jump. The Physiotherapy Evidence Database scale was used to assess the risk of bias and methodological quality of eligible studies included in the meta-analysis. Risk of publication bias across studies was assessed using the extended Egger’s test. Cohen’s d effect sizes (ESs) were calculated from the countermovement jump and presented together with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). From 6108 records initially identified through database searching, 5 were eligible for meta-analysis. A significant improvement in countermovement jump height was observed, corresponding to 6.4 cm (95% CI = 4.9–7.9; Z = 8.4, p < 0.001), showing moderate heterogeneity ( I2 = 51.4%). The magnitude of the main effect was very large (ES = 2.2 (95% CI = 0.95–3.4), Z = 3.5, p < 0.001). Jump training is effective in increasing vertical jump performance in handball players. However, the insufficient number of studies conducted precluded analyses of moderator variables. In future, researchers are advised to conduct jump training studies of high methodological quality (e.g. randomised controlled trials) and assess different jump exercise prescriptions across handball players of different sexes, ages and competitive levels to analyse if exercise prescription and player characteristics may influence training responses.
