Abstract Background: With the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (2019-nCoV, also named COVID-19) and growing knowledge of its epidemiological characteristics, it has been clear that children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are also susceptible to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Methods: In the past four months, we educated the guardians of children with leukemia with a series of preventative measures, including ⑴ Hand Hygiene and Hand Care; ⑵ the use of masks; ⑶ separation and sterilization of patient items; ⑷ avoiding public transportation; ⑸ Staying at home unless medically necessary; ⑹ Telemedicine; ⑺ Allowing only one caretaker during hospital admission ⑻ minimizing patients and their families visiting or travelling. We conducted a retrospective review to study the relationship between compliance with personal preventive measures and exposure to 2019-nCoV among children will ALL and their caretakers before and during the outbreak of 2019-nCoV in China between Jan 21-May 23 of 2020. Results: Prior to the outbreak of coronavirus 2019-nCoV in Jan 2020, 88.9% of patients washed their hands before meals and 55.6% after they ate. All of the patients who are >3 years old and 91% of the patients <3 years olds wore face masks regularly as a strategy for protection in the outdoors. When in the hospital, 95.5% of the patients who are >3 years old and 78% of the patients <3 years olds wore face masks regularly as a strategy for protection. Since the outbreak of coronavirus 2019-nCoV in China in Jan, 2020, the percentage of compliance to hand-washing before and after meals rose to 100% for all patients, as well as the compliance of regular mask use was 100%. Similar trend is also seen in the caretakers, prior to the outbreak 75% of whom washed their hands before and 66.7% after they ate or handed food. ALL of them wore masks regularly in the hospital or outdoors. Since the outbreak, 100% of caretakers wore masks during outside and in the wards. Regardless of the children with ALL are immunocompromised patients, key message of infection prevention provided to the families were using alcohol to disinfect surfaces, avoid going to public transport and without visitor or travelling. Prior to the outbreak, internet consults consisted of 20% out of all patient consults. As of date, which is 160 days since the outbreak, 80% of patient consults are done via internet. ALL of patients are voiding public transportation. Private cars and taxi are their choices. ALL of them comply with the policy of just one companion and stayed at home unless have to get IV chemo or got likely infection. In April 2019, 21.38% of the ALL patients in inpatient department suffered febrile neutropenia. Otherwise, in April 2020, only 5.18% suffered febrile neutropenia. Conclusion: From Jan 22 of 2020 to the authorship of this report, within the 200 number of ALL patients whom we have provided care for in Shenzhen Children’s hospital, none of the patients as well as their families were infected with 2019-nCoV, and all of them received chemotherapy as planned. The infection rate of ALL patients suffered febrile neutropenia decreased by seventy-five percent. These outcomes demonstrated that our response to the public health emergency was on-time and appropriate. The operational result shows that the control measures taken are effective. Our experience suggest that offering prompt and appropriate instructions in addition to provision of regular education and preventative practices to patients and their families may be considered to other pediatric oncology centers around the world.

This study aimed to analyze economically different control protocols for beef cattle gastrointestinal nematodes in Brazil. Field study data previously published was used to compare three groups: 1) non-dosed; 2) current deworming program with two doses - May and November; and 3) alternative strategic control program with three doses - May, August, and November. An economic sensitivity analysis was performed based on beef carcass price (BCP) variation, thus creating three economic scenarios: 1) more probable (M) using the mean BCP in the studied region; 2) optimistic (O) using the mean BCP plus standard deviation; and 3) pessimistic (P) using the mean BCP minus standard deviation. Stock valuation (SV), operational result (OP), and treatment differential (TD) were calculated for each scenario. Average BCP was US$ 2.93 kg-1 carcass (± US$ 0.27 kg-1 carcass). The mean annual cost of deworming per animal was US$ 5.43 and US$ 7.97 for protocols with two and three doses, respectively. The cost of anthelmintic treatment represented 0.63% and 0.74% of operating results, both in M scenario. TD ranged from 9.5% to 27.6% for the assessed protocols. Regardless of the scenario, the protocol with three annual dosages presented the highest SV and OP, which economically justifies its implementation in strategic control of gastrointestinal nematodes in grazing beef cattle in Central Brazil. These results also demonstrate the relevance of strategic anthelmintic treatments in weaned stocker calves in tropical and humid subtropical areas.

The gathering and transportation technology on electrical heating is one of major ways of the gathering and transportation for low permeability and low-yielding oil field, this paper has set up the physical model and mathematical model of the gathering and transportation that is controlled by time. By solving the model, we can determine the start and stop cycle of the gathering and transporting pipelines and dendriform net by electrical heating. And we also have conducted field test, the experiment turns out that the error of the result which is calculated by model compared with actual operational result is less than 1%, the phenomenon meets the requirements of production, the results can be used to determine the start and stop cycle of the gathering and transportation by electrical heating in the process of production.

176 Background: Mastectomy is a life-saving management but can cause significant adverse reactions. So, breast reconstruction is a concern in recovery after mastectomy. We report our experience with immediate breast reconstruction using implant or tissue expander, which confirmed the oncologic safety and high patients’ satisfaction. Methods: This study is a retrospective review of all patients who underwent reconstruction with implant or tissue expander immediately after mastectomy. Seventy-seven patients underwent breast reconstruction at a general hospital breast cancer center from January of 2008 to December of 2010 and 14 patients were excluded because of follow-up loss. Therefore 63 patients were included. To access patient’s satisfaction, questionnaire was sent to all patients. Results: Mean age of the patients is 44.1 years. ( range: 29-64) After median follow-up periods of 22.4 months, there was 1 case of locoregional recurrence, 1 case of distant metastasis and overall breast cancer specific survival was 100%. Overall major complication rate was 11.1% (7 patients), such as nipple areolar complex (NAC) necrosis and implant removal. Among 10 patients who had NAC necrosis, 6 patients improved after observation, and 4 patients performed NAC excision. Three patients were removed their implant due to severe infection, leakage or dissatisfaction. There were 32 cases of total mastectomy, 12 cases of skin sparing mastectomy (SSM), 19 cases of NAC sparing mastectomy (NSM). According to the result of questionnaire, 84.1% was satisfied with generalized operational result, 77.8% with cosmetic result. Among 19 patients who had performed NSM, 89.5% was satisfied with general result, 84.2% with cosmetic result. Conclusions: Immediate breast reconstruction using implant after mastectomy is technically feasible and oncologically safe as well as relatively good patient’s satisfaction. But we need more long-term experience.

An example of a central air-conditioning project of a rebuilt department store is described in this paper. The design of air system, water system, layout and operations for the air conditioning system is presented in this paper. The system is different form ordinary ones because the floor height is lower; so many special considerations must be taken during the design. In addition, the low cost and easy maintenance place an important role in the design. The operational result of the design is promising and it can be referenced by other designers.

Realization of projects is such form of operation which in the recent years – in the age of globalization of economy and growing competition – has become more and more significant, both in Poland and worldwide. The value and the number of projects realized are gradually growing and include not only the branches traditionally related to such form of operation (e.g. construction and IT industry) but in practice all fields of our life. A necessary element that determines the success of project realization is timely information which also needs to be reliable and useful. The source of such information is the accounting system composed of two subsystems: financial accounting (focused on the external recipient of the information) and management accounting (providing information to internal recipients). One of the basic determinants of creating information for external recipients (such as investors, banks, insurance companies, treasuryadministration organs etc.) is comparability. Keeping it influences the quality of information regarding project activity taken from financial reports created according to the selected regulations of accounting (e.g. IAS/IFRS, US GAAP and the PL GAAP). The aim of the article is to draw the attention to the problems related tothe presentation of the operational result in case of companies realizing projects contained in a financial report. The article is of discursive nature since the issues that it deals with usually depend on what given solution is selected bya unit in question. Moreover, some of the areas are subject to detailed regulations of the balance law (both domestically – the Act on Accounting and PL GAAP No. 3, and internationally – AS/IFRS). However, their applicationmay lead to ‘blurring’ a realistic and true picture of the capital and financialsituation of a company realizing long-term projects.

Performance financeira. Análise de dados em painel. Abstract The concern with the sustainable development shows the attempt of companies for their survival in the long term through an ethical and transparent relationship with society, environment, employees and their families. They do so by acting on proactive projects aimed on social responsibility and providing the improvement of quality on social, economic and environmental levels. Such procedure evidences an entrepreneurial awareness that their profitable activity has impact on the community and the environment around them and that making this impact as little as possible is also part of their activity. These investments, however, result on costs which companies try to make up for through benefits obtained from the investments themselves. The purpose of this study is to verify whether there is a relationship between environmental and social investments and corporate financial performance. The empirical study was carried out using panel data analysis with a sample of 59 companies operating in Brazil, with social balance-sheet available on-line, from 2005 to 2008. A significant relationship was identified between external social indexes and net income and between internal social indexes, external social indexes, external social indexes lagged for one period with net operational result. Keywords: Environmental and social responsibility. Financial performance. Panel Data Analysis.

Launched in March 2005, The European Library is the operational result of a 3-year European Union funded project to create a cooperative framework and specify a system for integrated access to the major collections of the European national libraries. The project included the rudiments of a business plan and, unusually for a European Union project, intended from the beginning to try to make an operational service. The project gave proof of concepts in both technology and cooperative working across national boundaries. At the end of the project the Conference of European National Librarians (CENL) adopted The European Library and an Office was set up within the Koninklijke Bibliotheek in The Netherlands in May 2004. From June 2004 work was undertaken to turn the project and the experimental technology into a fully fledged robust service. The European Library will give access to digital and non-digital records and items from nine European national libraries. This numbers around 15,000,000 at launch, of which half a million are digitized objects. This paper covers the technological innovation, cooperation and business development required to launch and run this collaborative pan- European service. It also gives some examples of how research and discovery has benefited from this collaboration.
