One of the more significant methodological errors in economic analysis consists in treating the concept of equilibrium — be it general or partial — as either a real state of affairs obtaining in the economy in a stable manner or a normative ideal that an optimally functioning economy should be able to reach. The purpose of the present article is to demonstrate that, in contrast to the above two views, a free economy is a process of incessant social self-development aimed at the attainment of ever more qualitatively advanced (and always temporary) states of equilibrium, whose main driving force are entrepreneurial prudence, alertness, and innovativeness. The successive sections of the present article describe several characteristic examples of supposed states of permanent stagnation or suboptimal equilibrium, which, on closer inspection, turn out to be strictly transitory, provided that a given situation is characterized by conditions conducive to the operation of entrepreneurial activities. In other words, the present article is an attempt at illustrating the thesis that entrepreneurship constitutes the foundation of dynamic economic analysis — i.e., the kind of analysis that fully incorporates the creative character of human action taking place in the context of large-scale social cooperation.

The literature overview on the issue of breastfeeding in neonatal departments, including neonatal intensive care units, is presented. The importance of breastfeeding for newborns with perinatal pathology is justified, as breast milk is vital for these children due to its unique sanogenetic properties. Data on special preventive and therapeutic role of breastfeeding for premature infants is presented. Reasons that complicate the use of breast milk in neonatal hospitals were analyzed (including those related to insufficient bacteriological and virological safety of native breast milk due to methodological errors during its collection and usage). Particular attention was paid to ensuring the breastfeeding safety during new coronavirus infection pandemic. This difficult period has demonstrated and confirmed the expediency of combining two breastfeeding approaches in perinatal centers: use of maternal milk and use of donor breast milk. Another section of review is devoted to modern breast milk processing technologies. Use of electric clinical breast pumps is crucial for promoting and supporting breastfeeding in the perinatal center.

The article analyses the situation with the lack of systematic control over the originality of texts of students’ written works in secondary schools, including individual projects, provided by the Russian Federal State Educational Standards. The authors point out that compliance with the academic program’s requirements to observe the norms and rules of citation and absence of plagiarism in the texts of individual projects is not ensured in practice in any way. In particular, schools have not developed evaluation criteria and procedures for monitoring. Also, there is no access to the necessary text reuse detection tools. The article substantiates the necessity for secondary education to check students’ for reused text by using specialized software on the example of the “Antiplagiat” system. As a result of the study, a methodology of introducing digital tools for text reuse detection in schools is presented. We developed such a methodology for secondary schools for the first time. It will allow avoiding the repetition of methodological errors made during the introduction of tools for text reuse detection in higher education, provide methodological support to teachers, and establish adequate criteria for assessing the originality of works, considering the specifics of the school.

A systematic review was undertaken to summarize the data regarding accuracy and effectiveness of artificial intelligence algorithms for identifying MRI manifestations of multiple sclerosis. The review included 39 papers, whose authors put forth a multitude of corresponding algorithms and mathematical models. However, quality assessment of these developments was limited by retrospective testing on repeat data sets. Clinical test results were almost entirely absent, and there were no prospective independent studies of accuracy and applicability. The relatively high values obtained for the main measures (similarity, sensitivity and specificity coefficients, which were 7585%) were offset by the methodological errors when creating the baseline data sets, and lack of validation using independent data. Due to small sample sizes and methodological errors when measuring the result accuracy, most of the studies did not meet the criteria for evidence-based research. Studies with the highest methodological quality had algorithms that achieved a sensitivity of 51.677.0%, with a SrensenDice coefficient of 53.556.0%. These numbers are not high, but they indicate that automatic identification of multiple sclerosis manifestations on magnetic resonance imaging may be achievable. Further development of computer-aided analysis requires the creation of clinical use scenarios and testing methodology, and prospective clinical testing.

An analysis is carried out of the main sources of methodological errors of the magnetic rotary viscometer. The analysis allowed to improve design and to eliminate critical modes of the research. Theoretical evaluations of the systematic error of the device showed that the value of the relative measurement error can be brought to a value of less than 1%. The greatest contribution to the systematic error of the device is made by the instability of the temperature regime of the nanofluid under study and by the inaccuracy of determining the height of the liquid layer in contact with the measuring cylinder. The measurement of the viscosity of the reference liquids on the magnetic viscometer showed that experimental values are slightly, by about 0.9% overestimated. Calibration of the device on various reference liquids allowed reducing the total measurement error down to tenths of a percent. The magnetic rotary viscometer can be used in non-standard scientific studies of the structure and rheological characteristics of nanofluids, for operational control of the processes of synthesis of magnetic liquids and certification of magnetic nanofluids intended for technical use.

The evaluation of methodological errors in measuring the temperature of nitride ceramics under unilateral heating by high-intensity heat flow was carried out. Simulation of thermal processes in the temperature sensor — sample system was performed using the Siemens PLMNX program. Various methods of fixing platinum-rhodium thermocouples with a diameter of 0.1 mm on the surface and inside the samples have been investigated. The regularities of the influence of the size of the hot junction, the presence of thermal cement, the shape of the grooves for fixing thermocouples on the methodological error of temperature measurement were investigated. Significant errors were revealed when installing thermocouples on the surface of the sample without violating its integrity. Recommendations for the installation of thermocouples were given. The results of the paper can be useful in the preparation of experimental samples for thermal tests on radiation heating stands.

Gene set enrichment tests (a.k.a. functional enrichment analysis) are among the most frequently used methods in computational biology. Despite this popularity, there are concerns that these methods are being applied incorrectly and the results of some peer-reviewed publications are unreliable. These problems include the use of inappropriate background gene lists, lack of false discovery rate correction and lack of methodological detail. An example analysis of public RNA-seq reveals that these methodological errors alter enrichment results dramatically. To ascertain the frequency of these errors in the literature, we performed a screen of 186 open access research articles describing functional enrichment results. We find that 95% of analyses using over-representation tests did not implement an appropriate background gene list or did not describe this in the methods. Failure to perform p-value correction for multiple tests was identified in 43% of analyses. Many studies lacked detail in the methods section about the tools and gene sets used. Only 15% of studies avoided major flaws, which highlights the poor state of functional enrichment rigour and reporting in the contemporary literature. We provide a set of minimum standards that should act as a checklist for researchers and peer-reviewers.

Introduction (problem statement and relevance). Wheels are components that ensure the safety of vehicles. One of the main ways to test the fatigue strength of wheels is a rotating bending load test. The methodology of these tests, regulated by international and national regulatory documents, allows an indirect method for measuring the normalized force effect on the wheels, in which there are always risks of methodological errors. The purpose of the study was to identify potential sources of methodological errors when testing wheels in the bending-rotating mode.Methodology and research methods. Analytical research methods from the field of practical vibration theory were used in the article, considering the critical state of rotating shafts and rotors. Scientific novelty and results. The sources of potential methodological errors and their relationship with the design characteristics of the bench equipment and the wheel itself were determined.Practical significance. Practical recommendations have been given on the change and control of the stand components design characteristics aimed at minimizing errors. The high-speed test modes were determined, in which the error of the test effect on the wheel did not go beyond the normative limits.
