Introduction. The Self-service Extension feature is one of the innovations developed by SLiMS community since 2015. Its function is to facilitate users in extending the loan period of borrowed books by themselves.  Purpose and Method. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the Self-service Extension feature using debugging(error tracking) method by connecting symptoms and causes of errors.  Results and Discussion. The results found several weaknesses. This module cannot run properly if the number of loan extensions is set more than once, and information on the amount of fines displayed does not count Sundays as holidays, so the penalty rate displayed exceeds the amount that should be paid. From this study it can be concludedthat the use of the debugging method is quite effective in tracking errors (bugs) on modules with simple program code, such as the Self-service Extension feature. After repairs, the feature can run as it should according to the rules set by its parent application, SLiMS. Its function can be maximized in helping facilitate library users to extend the period of borrowed books online, as well as to see information on the amount of fines to be paid.

Automated liquid handling stations such as the Hamilton Microlab range can be implemented to greatly enhance throughput of cell-based and cell-free assays. To facilitate utilisation past the comprehensive programming interface of the Hamilton Method Editor this paper presents a user interface (UI) that runs within Hamilton Venus and allows for a user to control and store programs for plate-to-plate transfers and serial dilutions in 96 well plate format. The interface allows for rapid control of aspiration and dispensing height, trituration, control of tip rack selection, and includes a tip washing program that can reduce the number of disposable tips utilised. The simple program interface allows the Hamilton Microlab to be used as a readily deployable microtitre plate handler, particularly for applications such as aliquoting cells for seeding, diluting a number of plates in medium, or transferring drug dilution arrays to multiple plates. This paper also discusses various optimisations to increase accuracy and rate of low volume liquid transfer. While complex liquid handling tasks such as high-throughput drug screening requires established core facilities, standalone liquid handlers with simplified interfaces can be utilised for smaller-scale research applications and educational purposes.

: The study of the interactions between enzymes and inactivators can often be performed with the help of the reporter substrate method in which the time-dependent decrease of the rate of substrate disappearance (or product formation) is monitored. In the present contribution, we wish to describe examples of the utilization of this rapid and efficient method for reactions whose rates can be monitored by spectrophotometric or fluorimetric measurements. After the collection of the data in an Excel file, a very simple program can be applied to extract the values of pseudo-- first-order rate constants. The inactivation can be complete or result in a steady-state if the inactivated adduct is not totally stable or if the inactivation reaction is reversible. Similarly, the method can be used in the cases of so-called “slow binding” inhibitors. The same type of analysis allows the easy determination of kcat/Km values for substrates for which the Km value is rather low. We show that this very rapid method (less than 5 min) yields very good values of the desired kinetic parameter even if the total absorbance variations are very low (0.1 or less). : In conclusion, the described experimental approach is particularly useful when applied to the reporter substrate method but it also allows the estimation of the kcat/Km parameter even if the Km value is rather low. : The authors wish to dedicate this paper to the memory of the late Michel Rinné (1941-2009) whose contribution to making the data analysis program very user-friendly was invaluable.

Abstract Village officials who carry out most of the tasks of village heads carried out by village officials are those who assist the Village Head in implementing good governance with village officials who are able to work closely with the village head to advance good human resources. Village officials are important in the village in serving the community. Currently, in Tapian Nauli village, the selection of candidates for the village apparatus is still manual so that services to the community will be hampered. Until now there has not been an effective selection of candidates for village officials for the selection of candidates for the village apparatus Tapian Nauli. Buts Nauli. This system was built using the Additive weighting method so that a simple program that can be done more effectively. Additive weighting simple method one of the methods used in the decision support system with the calculation process by finding the weight value or suitability assessment for each attribute.
