Atoms are proved to be semi-classical electronic systems in the sense of closeness of their exact quantum electron energy spectrum with that calculated within semi-classical approximation. Introduced semi-classical model of atom represents the wave functions of bounded in atom electrons in form of hydrogen-like atomic orbitals with explicitly defined effective charge numbers. The hydrogen-like electron orbitals of constituting condensed matter atoms are used to calculate the matrix elements of the secular equation determining the condensed matter electronic structure in the linear-combination-of-atomic-orbitals (LCAO) approach. Preliminary test calculations are conducted for boron B atom and diboron B2 molecule electron systems.

Abstract Vertically aligned arrays are a frequent outcome in the nanowires synthesis by self-assembly techniques or in its subsequent processing. When these nanowires are close enough, quantum electron tunneling is expected between them. Then, because extended or localized electronic states can be established in the wires by tuning its electron density, the tunneling configuration between adjacent wires could be conveniently adjusted by an external gate. In this contribution, by considering the collective nature of electrons using a Yukawa-like effective potential, we explore the electron interaction between closely spaced, parallel nanowires while varying the electron density and geometrical parameters. We find that, at a low-density Wigner crystal regime, the tunneling can take place between adjacent localized states along and transversal to the wires axis, which in turn allows to create two- and three-dimensional electronic distributions with valuable potential applications.

By employing the Modified Sardar Sub-Equation Method (MSEM), several solitons such as W-shape bright, dark solitons, trigonometric function solutions and singular function solutions have been obtained in two famous nonlinear evolution equations which are used to describe waves in quantum electron–positron–ion magnetoplasmas and weakly nonlinear ion-acoustic waves in a plasma. These models are the (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear extended quantum Zakharov–Kuznetsov (NLEQZK) equation and the (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear modified Zakharov–Kuznetsov (NLmZK) equation, respectively. Comparing the obtained results with Refs. 32–34 and Refs. 43–46, additional soliton-like solutions have been retrieved and will be useful in future to explain the interaction between lower nonlinear ion-acoustic waves and the parameters of the MSEM and the obtained figures will have more physical explanation.

The interaction of bright solitons of different orders and two different wavelengths propagating in the medium focusing for one wavelength and defocusing for the other is considered. The system of nonlinear Schrödinger equations is solved by means of perturbation theory. Application of an additional postulate to adjust both widths of the solitons and to modify the amplitude by a factor determined by the overlap integral greatly improves the accuracy of the description. The good accuracy of description is confirmed by numerical calculations. Full Text: PDF ReferencesY. Kivshar, G. P. Agrawal, Optical Solitons. Abstract Attosecond science capitalizes on the extreme nonlinearity of strong fields, driven by few-cycle pulses, to attain attosecond temporal resolution and give access to the electron motion dynamics of matter in real-time. Here, we measured the electronic delay response of the dielectric system triggered by a strong field of few-cycle pulses to be in the order of 425 ± 98 as. Moreover, we exploited the electronic response following the strong driver field to demonstrate all-optical light field metrology with attosecond resolution. This field sampling methodology provides a direct connection between the driver field and the induced ultrafast dynamics in matter. Also, we demonstrate the quantum electron motion control in dielectric using synthesized light waveforms. This on-demand electron motion control realizes the long-anticipated ultrafast optical switches and quantum electronics. This advancement promises to increase the limiting speed of data processing and information encoding to rates that exceed 1 petabit/s, opening a new realm of information technology.

Abstract Pure quantum electrons render intriguing correlated electronic phases by virtue of quantum fluctuations in addition to an exclusive electron-electron interaction. To realise such quantum electron systems, a key ingredient is dense electrons decoupled from other degrees of freedom. Here, we report the discovery of a pure quantum electron liquid, which spreads up to ~ 3 Å in the vacuum on the surface of electride crystal. An extremely high electron density and its scant hybridization with underneath atomic orbitals evidence quantum and pure nature of electrons, exhibiting polarized liquid phase demonstrated by spin-dependent measurement. Further, upon reducing the density, the dynamics of quantum electrons drastically changes to that of non-Fermi liquid along with an anomalous band deformation, manifesting a possible transition to a hexatic liquid crystalline phase. Our findings cultivate the frontier of quantum electron systems, which serve as an ideal platform for exploring the correlated electronic phases in a pure manner.

The perturbation electron density and stopping power caused by the movement of charged particles above two-dimensional quantum electron gases (2DQEG) have been studied in numerous works using the quantum hydrodynamic (QHD) theory. In this paper, the QHD is modified by introducing the two-dimensional electron exchange-correlation potential at high density V x c 2 DH and the pump wave modulations. Based on the modified QHD, the perturbation electron density and stopping power are calculated for pump waves with various parameters. The results show that the stopping power values are more accurate after considering V x c 2 DH . Under the modulation of pump waves with the wavelength from 0.1 nm to 0.1 cm , the perturbation electron density of 2DQEG and the stopping power of charged particles show periodic changes. Under the modulation of pump waves with λ = 1.76 × 10 − 4 cm and Φ 0 = 2 × 10 10 e / λ f , the average stopping power with respect to the time phase θ becomes negative, which means that the charged particles will gain energy and can be accelerated. This is a new phenomenon in the fields of 2DQEG and of great significance in surface physics and surface modification in nanoelectronic devices with beam matter interactions.
