Abstract Massive stars play key roles in many astrophysical processes. Deriving the atmospheric parameters of massive stars is important to understanding their physical properties, and thus the atmospheric parameters are key inputs to trace the evolution of massive stars. Here we report our work on adopting the data-driven technique called stellar label machine (SLAM) with the nonlocal thermal equilibrium TLUSTY synthetic spectra as the training data set to estimate the stellar parameters of Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) optical spectra for early-type stars. We apply two consistency tests to verify this machine-learning method and compare stellar labels given by SLAM with the labels in the literature for several objects having high-resolution spectra. We provide the stellar labels of effective temperature (T eff), surface gravity ( log g ), metallicity ([M/H]), and projected rotational velocity ( v sin i ) for 3931 and 578 early-type stars from the LAMOST low-resolution survey (LRS) and medium-resolution survey (MRS), respectively. To estimate the average statistical uncertainties of our results, we calculated the standard deviation between the predicted stellar label and the prelabeled published values from the high-resolution spectra. The uncertainties of the four parameters are σ(T eff) = 2185 K, σ ( log g ) = 0.29 dex, and σ ( v sin i ) = 11 km s − 1 for MRS, and σ(T eff) = 1642 K, σ ( log g ) = 0.25 dex, and σ ( v sin i ) = 42 km s − 1 for LRS spectra, respectively. We note that the parameters of T eff, log g , and [M/H] can be better constrained using LRS spectra than using MRS spectra, most likely due to their broad wavelength coverage, while v sin i is constrained better by MRS spectra than by LRS spectra, probably due to the relatively accurate line profiles of MRS spectra.

Abstract Background To study and compare the clinical optical image quality following implantation with different premium IOLs by analysing the point spread function (PSF) Strehl ratio using a pyramidal wavefront sensor (PWS)-based aberrometer. Methods This study included 194 eyes implanted with: (a) 19 AcrySof SA60AT (control group); (b) 19 Miniwell; (c) 24 LENTIS Mplus LS-313 MF30; d) 33 LENTIS Mplus LS-313 MF15; (e) 17 AkkoLens Lumina; (f) 31 AT LISA Tri 839MP; (g) 20 Precizon Presbyopic; (h) 20 AcrySof IQ PanOptix; (i) 11 Tecnis Eyhance. Main outcome measures were PSF Strehl ratio, PSF Strehl ratio excluding second-order aberrations (PSFw2), total root mean square (RMS), low-order aberration (LOA) and high-order aberration (HOA) RMS measured by PWS aberrometer. Results AT LISA Tri had the highest PSFw2 Strehl ratio at both 3.0- and 4.0-mm pupil size (0.52 ± 0.14 and 0.31 ± 0.10; P < 0.05), followed by SA60AT (0.41 ± 0.11 and 0.28 ± 0.07) and PanOptix (0.4 ± 0.07 and 0.26 ± 0.04). AT LISA Tri was found to provide a significantly better retinal image quality than PanOptix at both 3.0 mm (P < 0.0001) and 4.0 mm (P = 0.004). Mplus MF15 was found to be significantly better than Mplus MF30 at both 3.0 mm (P < 0.0001) and 4.0 mm (P = 0.002). Total RMS, LOA RMS, HOA RMS, PSF Strehl ratio and PSFw2 varied significantly between the studied groups (P < 0.001). Conclusions Far distance clinical image quality parameters measured by PWS aberrometer differed significantly according to the technology of the implanted lens. AT LISA Tri, SA60AT and PanOptix showed the highest values of far distance retinal image quality, while the lowest PSFw2 Strehl ratios were displayed by Miniwell, Mplus MF30 and Precizon Presbyopic.

Introduction: Acromion curved and hooked play a key role in shoulder impingement syndrome. Little is known about the acromial type in Brazilian population. Aim: To describe the acromial type profile in Brazilian young adults; to evaluate its correlation to gender and handedness and the occurrence of symmetry between genders. Methodology: Forty acromions of 20 Brazilian adults, both genders, between 21-25 years old were studied. The acromion type was classified by Bigliani/Epstein method by supraspinatus outlet view radiographs. Results: As there was no gender difference in the occurrence of acromial type, we considered male and female groups together. Thus, of the 20 right acromions, we found 5 (25%) type I, 8 (40%) type II and 7 (35%) type III. Of the 20 left acromions, we found 4 (20%) type I, 11 (55%) type II and 5 (25%) type III. The only left-handed volunteer (100%) presented for the right and left shoulder acromial type III. Of the 19 right-handed volunteers, 5 (26.3%) presented right acromion type I, 8 (42.1%) type II, and 6 (31.6%) type III; for the left acromion, 4 (21.1%) presented type I, 11 (57.9%) type II, and 4 (21.1%) type III. Acromial symmetry occurred in female (60%) and male (70%) groups. Conclusion: Type II acromion was the most predominant for right and left shoulder in Brazilian young adults. There was no correlation between acromial type and gender. It was not possible to analyze the correlation between acromial type and handedness. Acromial type tends to be symmetric in our sample.

Abstract The papyrus on which the so-called Tbilisi hymn to Dionysus survives (P. Ross. Georg. I 11 [LDAB 4911 = MP3 01861.000]) is remarkable for preserving, along with the hymn’s text, a number of marginal and interlinear variant readings, which, interpreted as authorial variants, have led to the conclusion that the papyrus represents an autograph draft. As the present study argues, it is in fact more likely that the variants belong to a copyist or reviser rather than to the hymn’s author.
