This study investigated users’ searching, reading and writing interactions and their activity transitions during task completion process when users were collecting information for learning-related search tasks. Task completion process was defined as the process users started to search till the time when they have collected enough information to accomplish the search tasks. The data analysis was conducted from a new process perspective through synthesising macro- and micro-process levels. Four evenly distributed stages were divided according to the total task completion time in each search session. Our results demonstrated that users generally experienced three sub-processes during task completion process: exploration, accumulation and composition/reporting. Exploration sub-process is basically the first quarter of the total task completion time, during which users often issue more queries and visit more search engine result pages (SERPs) to collect information, and the dominant activity transition is switching between searching and reading; accumulation sub-process is mainly the second and third quarters of the total task completion time, during which they visit more unique content pages, have more revisits per content page, and they switch between reading and writing activities frequently; the last stage is composition/reporting sub-process, which is dominated by writing, and users often switch between writing and reading, and between writing and searching. Based on these findings, we propose a search pace model to describe how users proceed from the beginning to the end of task completion process in these three sub-processes. The methodology applied has been proved to be effective to examine users’ interaction behaviours from the process perspective on both the micro- and macro-levels. The findings of this article help us understand how users proceed their dynamic searching, reading and writing behaviours for learning-related tasks, and also have implications for the design of search systems that support learning-related tasks.

Ancient archaeological sites contain numerous pottery objects that suffered from different deterioration factors. This study aims to use different analytical methods to study the chemical and mineralogical composition and identification of deterioration aspects of some ancient Egyptian pottery jars from Saqqara excavation. Thus, to explain the deterioration factors' mechanisms and apply the proper conservation methods to the deteriorated pottery jars. AutoCAD, digital microscope, scanning electron microscope (SEM-EDX), and x-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to clarify the preservation states of pottery jars. The results of the investigation revealed that the selected jars suffered from different cracks, salts crystallization, some surface black spots, separation of the slip layer, and heterogeneity in the grains size. XRD analysis revealed that quartz, diopside, illite, muscovite, orthoclase, anorthite, and hematite are the main components of the jars. SEM-EDX analysis showed high concentrations of chlorides and sulfate salts, besides the presence of manganese oxide. Different treatments were performed for the pottery jars include mechanical and chemical cleaning. Additionally, the completion process was done by using a mixture of dental gypsum with grog. Moreover, the consolidation process was achieved by using paraloid B-72.

Mystical thought is a critical thought developed against official thought and official scientific understanding. This can be observed and discussed separately in both individual and collective layers of mystical life with its religious epistemological in one way and historical, social, political, and economic aspects in the other. Specific to this study after the death of the Prophet, the religious sciences that emerged during the tadwīn period built on the Arabic language-centered sensualism, and in this regard, it was structured with the Arab form. None of the above-mentioned built sciences satisfy mystical worldviews. Is this attitude of them a “completion process” or a critical intellectual process? We consider the critical intellectual process as a “critical intellectual and vital” step that includes “completion”. The above dilemma continued in Turkish thought even after joining the Islamic civilization. However, we think that a more comprehensive "Turkish mind", including the Islamic civilization along with its previous cultural resources, is maintained in the wise tradition. In this context, we think that the most fundamental and last form that forms the Turkish mind through Gokturk Script, Kashgari's Dīwān and Yesevism is the Turkish language.

This research was qualitative research that aimed to find out how educators inserted the value of 4C skills in teaching English using Moodle. This research was conducted at The Tourism and Business Institute where this institute was not only a vocational institution but also had a specific policy to involve these four skills in the teaching and learning process. In this study, the researchers found two English lecturers who were implementing 4C skills in teaching English. These two participants were interviewed and observed to obtain data before being discussed in this study. From the findings, it is known that lecturers enter the 4C values in various ways. First, the lecturer includes the value of critical thinking which is dominated by using problem-based learning methods where the lecturer gives several cases that must be solved by students. In creative thinking skills, lecturers use project-based learning which requires students to provide creative ideas in the project completion process. In collaboration skills, lecturers insert this value by using group or pair assignments where students have to work together on assignments. Finally, the lecturer inserts the value of communication in almost every meeting, starting from discussions in forums created in Moodle to making dominant role-play-based assignments. Problems faced by lecturers when learning English using Moodle include there must be compulsion for students to interact, the lack of student awareness, the need for extra lecturers' efforts to adapt to this online learning media, internet connection problems and the Moodle mobile application system that is not in sync with Moodle on the website. Lecturers hope that Moodle can have a virtual meeting feature that can create virtual class meetings so that lecturers can communicate with students in real time.

Abstract Background Delays in receiving follow-up colonoscopy after an abnormal fecal immunochemical test (FIT) result are associated with increased colorectal cancer incidence and mortality. Little is known about patterns of follow-up colonoscopy completion in federally qualified health centers. Methods We abstracted the medical records of health center patients, aged 50–75 years, who had an abnormal FIT result between August 5, 2017 and August 4, 2018 (N = 711). We assessed one-year rates of colonoscopy referral, pre-procedure visit completion, colonoscopy completion, and time to colonoscopy; associations between these outcomes and patient characteristics; and reasons for non-completion found in the medical record. Results Of the 711 patients with an abnormal FIT result, 90% were referred to colonoscopy, but only 52% completed a pre-procedure visit, and 43% completed a colonoscopy within 1 year. Median time to colonoscopy was 83 days (interquartile range: 52–131 days). Pre-procedure visit and colonoscopy completion rates were relatively low in patients aged 65–75 (vs. 50–64), who were uninsured (vs. insured) or had no clinic visit in the prior year (vs. ≥ 1 clinic visit). Common reasons listed for non-completion were that the patient declined, or the provider could not reach the patient. Discussion Efforts to improve follow-up colonoscopy rates in health centers might focus on supporting the care transition from primary to specialty gastroenterology care and emphasize care for older uninsured patients and those having no recent clinic visits. Our findings can inform efforts to improve follow-up colonoscopy uptake, reduce time to colonoscopy receipt, and save lives from colorectal cancer. Trial registration: National Clinical Trial (NCT) Identifier: NCT03925883.

This paper denotes the findings from an action research project, which applied problem-based learning (PBL) in linguistics courses in an MA TESOL program in Vietnam. The project aimed to study the extent to which the use of problem-based tasks in semantic courses could promote students’ employment of higher-order thinking skills in their learning. It was found that the PBL approach was specifically appropriate in promoting higher-order thinking skills for students with passive learning habits in such Confucian heritage cultures as Vietnam. With well-designed problem-based tasks and adequate tutoring, students learned how to use higher-order thinking skills to facilitate their learning; how to stay more focused on the completion process of problem-based tasks; and how to be motivated to engage in learning activities. In addition, some students were encouraged to follow the same PBL approach in their own teaching practice. Problem-based tasks which took place at a fixed time during class seemed to cause students to lose interest. In addition, a lack of adequate job experience might also have limited the effectiveness and overall success of the problem-based tasks.

The Indonesian Ombudsman is a State Institution tasked with overseeing public services based on Law Number 37 of 2008 concerning the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia. Based on this task, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia performs services in the form of receiving reports / complaints from the public regarding public services performed by service providers that must be resolved quickly and efficiently. To achieve this goal, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia must have an integrated Information System that can record and complete the report completion process. Taking into account the magnitude and complexity of the work in the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, the Management Information System for Completion of this Report must be well planned and based on the data needed by each user. The Architecture of the Management Report Management Information System Completion of the Community Report was built using the enterprise architecture planning model approach, especially the TOGAF ADM method with the hope that the SIMPeL v3.0 blueprint can be the basis for the development of the Report Settlement Management Information System (SIMPeL v3.0) in the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia.

The problem of synthesis of missing image parts represents an interesting and challenging area of image processing and computer vision with significant potential. This thesis, focuses on an adaptive depth-guided image completion method that addresses the image completion problem using information contained in the rest of the image. The completion process is separated into structure and texture synthesis. A method is first introduced for completing the respective depth map through the use of a diffusion-based operation, preserving global image structure within the unknown region. Building upon the state of the art exemplar based inpainting technique of Barnes et al., we complete the target (unknown) region by matching to and blending source patches drawn from the rest of the image, using the reconstructed depth information to guide the completion process. Secondly, for each target patch, we formulate an adaptive patch size determination as an optimization problem that minimizes an objective function involving local image gradient magnitude and orientations. An extension to the coherence- based objective function introduced by Wexler et al. is then introduced, which not only encourages coherence of the respective target region with respect to the source region in colour but also in depth. We further consider the variance between patches in the SSD criteria for preventing error accumulation and propagation. Experimental results show that our method can provide a significant improvement to patch-based image completion algorithms shown by PSNR and SSIM calculations as well as a qualitative subjective study.
