OSTEOPATHIC CORRECTION IN TREATING PATIENTS WITH TENSION HEADACHE SYMPTOM AGAINST TMJ DYSFUNCTION

Patients may have headache due to pathological issues occurring in the cervical spine and resulting in compression of the vertebral artery passing nearby. This comes along with disturbed blood supply to the brain. The aim of this study is to offer reliable grounds, and evaluate osteopathic correction when treating headache of tension (HAT) caused by a dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). A comprehensive examination involved 26 patients aged 18 to 65. The study outcomes allow recommending to include soft osteopathic techniques in the set of therapeutic measures. In order to make osteopathic treatment available for patients with HAT caused by the TMJ dysfunction, computed tomography (CT) of the TMJ and cranio-cervical junction is a typical choice. Given the high efficiency of the combined work of an osteopath joining effort with an orthopedic dentist and an orthodontist who has a good command of neuromuscular correction approaches, it appears a feasible option to use such combined treatment in patients with the TMJ dysfunction-caused HAT. To improve the quality of osteopathic correction and maintain the positive outcome we recommend using a supporting teeth protector — an elastopositioning corrector or TMJ trainer. This enables to decompress the TMJ.

Nearly modern IPE? Insights from IPE at mid-century

Disciplinary debates within IPE often leave as an open question how contemporary scholars may build on and incorporate insights from its rich intellectual history. In this article I examine the work of three scholars who are rarely grouped together, but who should be recognised today as engaged in an IPE-inflected debate: Karl Polanyi, E. H. Carr, and David Mitrany. They advanced distinct IPE-centred ways of framing the central problems of the post-1945 world, which are remarkable for how they prefigure important themes in modern IPE scholarship. By assembling and considering their work collectively, I make two arguments: (1) we should recognise their contributions as a precursor to modern IPE; and (2) their work, with certain caveats, provides valuable intellectual resources for contemporary scholars. Their combined work should be considered as part of the common heritage of IPE.

Autonomous Multifunctional Vehicle With Integrated Bio-Inspired SMA Actuated Grasper

The space exploration activities are merging new technologies in order to develop systems challenged to achieve capabilities for high mission experience. Inspired by the numerous applications in space exploration, with the integration of shape memory alloys (SMAs), a 3D printed continuous All Terrain Grasper Transport (AT-GT) vehicle with implemented multi-locomotion grasper was created. In order to reduce failure of the mechanical system, the vehicle is equipped with SMA suspension and SMA tensioner of a pulley system with adaptable height able to achieve movement on a given trajectory and adjust to any terrain. SMA actuators provide controllable actuation based on the simplicity of their design and the shape memory effect. By using the advantages of the origami engineering, soft robotics and smart material implementation, a bio-inspired autonomous grasper was integrated on the AT-GT, capable of leaving the vehicle, grabbing an object and bringing it back to the vehicle. The concept development, the analytical models and the prototype including the benefits of the combined work of the vehicle and the grasper are presented.

Size-Regulated Symmetry Breaking in Reaction-Diffusion Models of Developmental Transitions

The development of multicellular organisms proceeds through a series of morphogenetic and cell-state transitions, transforming homogeneous zygotes into complex adults by a process of self-organisation. Many of these transitions are achieved by spontaneous symmetry breaking mechanisms, allowing cells and tissues to acquire pattern and polarity by virtue of local interactions without an upstream supply of information. The combined work of theory and experiment has elucidated how these systems break symmetry during developmental transitions. Given that such transitions are multiple and their temporal ordering is crucial, an equally important question is how these developmental transitions are coordinated in time. Using a minimal mass-conserved substrate-depletion model for symmetry breaking as our case study, we elucidate mechanisms by which cells and tissues can couple reaction–diffusion-driven symmetry breaking to the timing of developmental transitions, arguing that the dependence of patterning mode on system size may be a generic principle by which developing organisms measure time. By analysing different regimes of our model, simulated on growing domains, we elaborate three distinct behaviours, allowing for clock-, timer- or switch-like dynamics. Relating these behaviours to experimentally documented case studies of developmental timing, we provide a minimal conceptual framework to interrogate how developing organisms coordinate developmental transitions.

Innovations in the lexicographic description of the Ukrainian worldview

The article presents the latest methodology of systematic lexicographic description of the Ukrainian worldview of the second half of the XX – beginning of the XXI centuries, on the basis of which lexicographers of the Institute of Ukrainian Language of the NAS of Ukraine compile a new explanatory dictionary of creative personalities. The dictionary contains a consolidated lexicon and artistic means of language of the leading Ukrainian writers, publicists and translators (Oles Honchar, Yevhen Sverstyuk, Hryhor Tyutyunnyk, Ivan Dziuba, Mykola Lukash, Yuriy Andrukhovych, Oksana Zabuzhko), which provides perspective modeling of the language and conceptual picture of the world, research of idiosyncrasies of creative personalities, elucidation of laws of language and society development. The dictionary is innovative in terms of register and lexicographic methods of systematic vocabulary description. It presents the vocabulary of the era of totalitarianism and the post-totalitarian period, which is not evidenced by explanatory dictionaries. For the lexicographic reproduction of the conceptual dominants of these periods, a system of hyperlinks between dictionary entries compiled from the works of different authors was used. The dictionary combines information about the individual author's worldview and the common understanding of the key concepts of the era by writers. Innovative introduction of culturological and encyclopedic information provides a lexicographic description of the achievements of Ukrainian language creation against the background of universal cultural values. In the future, it is possible to make a systematic lexicographic description of lexical and artistic heritage of the latest Ukrainian writers, the formation of a dictionary of the active type, a common ideographic dictionary. The combined work of the Ukrainian academic lexicographers provides macroscientific research on the development of language and society, deepening the theory of lexicology, lexicography, derivatology, linguoculturology, linguosociology, stylistics, development of the theory of integrated linguistic research.

As a result, we can safely assume that the ‗information gap‘ is the dominant key factor for humans to ‗make a living‘. The sensitization process of the Papakonstantinidis model of the 3 win can achieve the full ‗angel‘s point‘, concerning a bottom-up collective bargaining process by propelling meta-capitalist evolution forward,in terms of participatory capital formation. The intuitive 3 win approach calls for (capital- based) bargaining mutualism and has its analogy in the many living examples of biological mutualism.

THE COMMUNAL TRADITIONS IN YOUTH FESTIVALS AND RITUALS OF THE CHUVASH AND UDMURTS

In this article, an attempt is made to analyze the communal traditions in youth festivals and rituals. Traditional festivals and rituals are among the fundamental elements of ethnic culture that affect the functioning of the entire system of everyday life. Youth festivals combined work and active spiritual creativity. This is particularly evident in cases when elements of censorship of morals were included in the play staged - the assessment of the assessment of individual cases by the community and rural communities. The younger generation was attached to the established way of life, the aesthetic views of the people, moral and ethical norms of behavior, cultural and ideological values. Chronology of the study: the first half of the XIX century - until now.

Ambiguous spaces: the charity-NGO nexus in Iceland

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to provide a case study which analyses the ambiguous relationship that Icelandic charities and NGOs have with the formal social welfare services they collaborate with as well as the clients they serve. Design/methodology/approach The paper is based upon the combined work of both authors and drawn from a number of projects spanning the years immediately preceding the Icelandic economic crisis of 2008, through to the years of crisis and recovery, and into the present context. This contribution is a combination of a re-analysis of older material combined with new data and emergent issues. Findings The contribution argues charities and NGOs in Iceland operate within an ambiguous space, not part of the formal welfare authorities yet in practice in collaboration with them. One danger is that the charitable environment offers no clear legal protections concerning client rights or entitlements to assistance, or grievance redress mechanisms typical of the formal social assistance schemes. Further, the ways in which charities exclude certain segments of the population is troubling, particularly in consideration of the lack of protections and the willingness of governments to download the costs of and responsibilities for services to non-professional and private charities and NGOs. Social implications The findings are intended to contribute toward encouraging critical discussion about the appeal of charity as a service alternative in the context of governmental cutbacks and austerity measures. Originality/value The findings are based upon limited but original case studies in Iceland.

Merging Efforts: The Intersections of Domestic Violence Intervention, Men, and Masculinities

Feminist-focused activism and domestic violence services have grown in tandem, both developing analysis of systemic interventions for abusive men and in men’s role to address violence against women. Research on men and masculinities create a space for enhancing the view of toxic and healthy masculinities; however, analysis of masculinities without specific discussion on topics of intersectionality can avoid directly addressing men's violent behavior. There is a growing need to combine two focal points of work: honoring the foundations of anti-oppression work by encouraging non-abusive men to address their entitlement and disconnect from women, and motivating domestically abusive and violent men to choose respectful behavior that integrates healthy masculinities. Consideration for LGBTQ+ analysis of masculinities and opportunities for combined work are also explored.
