In-depth observations have been made on the web printing process for newspaper production. Observations were made to identify problems related to the tension of the roll paper used in the production of newspapers. The problem of roll-paper tension is observed from the main material, the upstream process (Reelstand Unit), the printing process and its supporting units such as the wetting unit, inking unit and in the folder unit which is a contineous process. From observing the problems in the printing process, the causes and solutions to the problems were identified which were then used as an operating standard reference for the newspaper production using a web offset printing machine. Keywords—web offset printing machine, newspaper, paper tension

Purpose: The study aims to develop a relevant counter-argument and supporting justification on ideas offered by Zaman (2014) in his paper titled "An Islamic Approach to Humanities." Design/Method/Approach: This study adopts a quantitative approach in form of a literature survey, discourse and critical content analysis. For achieving the goal, we capitalize on Ghazi (2006) to support the argument that the source of knowledge is not only through observations. Kalin (2016) and Zarkasyi (2018) are being used to show that Islam encourages reasoning and observations. To support the argument that Islamic economics can be positivistic, we use Abdullahi (2018) as a related paper to deal with that issue. Findings: The study found that Islamic Economics can use the tools of logical positivists in its observation as long as such tools do not contradict the logical structure of the Islamic worldview. Social science like Islamic economics is only an avenue to see the expression of free will that Allah gives to the human being by observing the pattern of human behavior. When the results can describe closer to reality, it can survive and support the development of social science itself. Originality/Values: The main contribution of this study is to clarify the position of Islamic economics on the logical positivism method and its implication in value integration.

Transfer of terms and research procedures between synchronic and diachronic linguistics. Summary: In this methodology-related paper, the author identifies a clear (in his opinion) tendency to transfer terms between synchronic and diachronic linguistics. Language historians who study syntax, lexis, semantics as well as text and the evolution of literary genres are now searching for precise research tools. The article demonstrates that even if it is not possible to use synchronic tools in diachronic research, such attempts bring measurable benefits to science such as, for example, proposing new terms, clarifying the existing ones, or reflecting on one’s own research situation. Keywords: synchronic and diachronic linguistics, methodology, terminology

Abstract Mosquitoes are extremely harmful to humans, spreading diseases to millions of people each year, many of whom die as a result of these infections. Mosquitoes have evolved to live in low light, to identify active, moving predators to avoid, and to recognize passive objects around which to navigate. The experiments in this paper introduce a method that involves the use of LED light to flood areas with the simulated presence of actively persisting objects. In a related paper, a highly regarded mosquito laboratory at a U.S. university used a dual-color pulsing light bulb to encourage mosquitoes to prefer one place to another. Although this was shown to be a potentially life-saving technology, further study under more carefully controlled conditions is required to ascertain whether the mosquitoes’ behavior was not influenced by extraneous factors. The experiments herein capture the movement of mosquitoes away from a faintly lit, treated area towards a more well-lit one.

PurposeSelection of standardized modular containers (SSMC) is counted as one of the most important driving factors that ensure the Physical Internet (PI) to realize the varieties of goals of sustainability simultaneously, thus overcoming the great challenge of modern logistics in nowadays global supply chain. However, previous research studies on SSMC seldom paid attention to freight behavior and shippers’ segment, which are described in several fundamental conceptual works as the most essential factors that should be taken into account when doing SSMC.Design/methodology/approachThis paper defines two preference matrices to characterize the freight behavior and shippers’ segment, and then integrates these two matrices into a centralized multi-criteria method to determine the optimal SSMC.FindingsThe SSMC derived by the proposed methodology is found to be Pareto-optimal. A managerial implication for shippers to further improve efficiency is summarized as well.Originality/valueFirst, the authors characterized the freight behavior and shippers’ segment by two preference matrices and then integrated them into a centralized multi-criteria method. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first SSMC-related paper that takes shippers' behaviors and preferences into consideration when making the selection. The authors’ attempt is expected to fill in the research gap that has existed until now. Second, the SSMC derived by the proposed methodology is found to be Pareto-optimal, ensuring the required sustainability. Finally, the authors summarized a managerial implication for shippers to further improve the efficiency from the aspects of production and design.

This paper aims to explore Millennial tourists' visit motivation to Borobudur and surrounding areas. The approach used is by analyzing 20 papers related to tourist motivation to visit, making synthesis from the collected papers, and producing critical views for each related paper. The objective of this paper is to find the conceptual model for Millennials' tourist visit motivation, especially in Borobudur and surrounding areas. This paper found that tourist visit motivation is about tourists' perceived quality and tourist's perceived value. The perceived quality is from the quality of tourist services and destination appearance, and the emotional experience that tourists expect to get in the destination. The perceived cost from the monetary and non-monetary cost they spend to visit the destination. This perceived quality and cost will greatly influence tourist's behavioral intentions that cause tourists to make a visit or even revisit intention. The limitation of this research is that this research only studies millennials’ tourist visit motivation. In the future, the qualitative research process can be conducted in Borobudur and surrounding areas to testify and improve the conceptual model found in this paper.

This project was developed as an attempt to assess the relationship between different morphogenetic processes, in particular, those of fringe belt formation as described by M.R.G. Conzen (1960) and Whitehand (2001), and of centrality and compactness as described by Hillier (1999; 2002). Different approaches’ focus on different elements of the city has made it difficult to establish exactly how these processes interact or whether they are simply different facets of development reflecting wider socio-economic factors. To address this issue, a visual, chronological timeline of Limassol’s development was constructed along with a narrative of the socio-economic context of its development.  The complexity of cities, however, makes static visualisations across time difficult to read and assess alongside textual narratives. We therefore took the step of developing an animation of land use and configurational analyses of Limassol, in order bring to life the diachronic analysis of the city and shed light on its generative mechanisms. The video presented here shows that the relationship between the processes mentioned above is much stronger and more complex than previously thought. The related paper explores in more detail the links between fringe belt formation as a cyclical process of peripheral development and centrality as a recurring process of minimisation of gains in distance. The project’s outcomes clearly show that composite methods of visualisations are an analytical opportunity still little exploited within urban morphology. References Conzen, M.R.G., 1960. The impact of commercially prepared, fully bleached pulp viscosity variation on handsheet physical properties was evaluated at different levels of pulp refining. Hardwood pulps from the same brownstock species mix, cooking parameters, and kappa numbers were processed through two different commercial bleach plants: one with a D0(EP)D1D2 sequence and the second with an OD0(EOP)D1 sequence. Additionally, a commercial softwood (predominately Scotts pine) brownstock pulp bleached by an OD0(EP)D1D2 sequence was employed in this study. Pulps with viscosities ranging from 14 to 21 mPa∙s were refined in a Valley beater to two freeness levels, and the associated handsheet physical properties were measured in this study. Over the pulp viscosity range of 14 to 21 mPa∙s, no clear correlation was found to exist between pulp viscosity and related paper physical properties. Finally, a series of laboratory prepared bleached pulps were purposely prepared under non-ideal conditions to reduce their final viscosities to lower values. Handsheets made from these pulps were tested in their unbeaten condition for physical strength properties. Significant and rapid strength loss occurred when the measured pulp viscosity dropped below 12 mPa∙s; overall strength properties showed no correlation to viscosity above the critical 12 mPa∙s value.
