In this work, we challenge supposedly neutral imaginaries of what walking methodologies consist of, unveiling social and political dimensions and addressing the production of embodied spaces involved in the act of walking. We adopt the concept of intersectionality to construct an analysis that considers the effects of the colonial, racist, and sexist historical scheme on the production of knowledge. We understand that the current globalization project produces a global subject that is not racialized, and therefore White. And it is marked by gender norms, and therefore, masculine and heterosexual. These characteristics give the person the privilege of moving “naturally,” without the need to justify physical, social, and political corporealities. In the walking research carried out by subjects who deviate from such global parameters, we identified the interruption of walking as an epistemological event that displaces them from the space they are producing. We also analyzed the idea of risk produced to the researchers when they are identified as someone who “does not belong” to that space. We argue that the interaction among gender, race, and place imposes a local condition to the knowledge produced by Afro-Latin American walking researchers. Finally, we defend the walking methodologies as a political statute in the occupation of simultaneously physical and epistemological spaces because the subject’s position and the power relations that are addressed in the act of walking require consideration.

We study the multiplicity and concentration of complex-valued solutions for a fractional magnetic Schrödinger equation involving a scalar continuous electric potential satisfying a local condition and a continuous nonlinearity with subcritical growth. The main results are obtained by applying a penalization technique, generalized Nehari manifold method and Ljusternik–Schnirelman theory. We also prove a Kato's inequality for the fractional magnetic Laplacian which we believe to be useful in the study of other fractional magnetic problems.

Fourteen different germplasms of early summer maize (Zea mays L.) were tested for their production potential. The main objective of this research was to see the productivity of these varieties on local condition, their phenotypic characters, and their relationship with yield. Fourteen trails with three replications were randomized with RCBD. Observation and data recording were done by field visiting. Among the observed quantitative parameters; Cob diameter, Cob length, Row number per cob, Grain number per row, 300 grain weight at 14% moisture shows positive and significant correlation with the yield whereas Days to 50% silking, Days to 50% tasseling, and plant height shows positive but non –significant correlation with the yield. COMPOZ-NI-PB, S03TEY-POBM, and EEYCL were seen more productive than the released variety of NMRP: Arun-4 on the local condition. Int. J. Soc. Sc. Manage. Vol. 8, Issue-2: 391-295

In contemporary Chinese architectural culture, Hua Li’s work stands out as a phenomenon. His architecture demonstrates little in the way of formalistic eccentricities, cultural symbolism, or indeed the ‘Chineseness’ that some others seek to pursue. Instead, what interests the architect is, most of all, the quality of material, construction, space, and place. As indicated by Hua’s recent lectures, his concept of place remains connected to the larger site of a building project, its topography, climate, local materials, and craftsmanship. As such it is similar to, though also different from, the concept of place proposed by Christian Norberg-Schulz – the Norwegian architectural historian and theorist known for his theory of place influenced by philosopher Martin Heidegger, which was developed through various texts including: Intentions in Architecture (1963); Existence, Space and Architecture (1971); and Genius Loci: Towards a Phenomenology of Architecture (1979). The similarities consist in Hua Li and Norberg-Schulz’s imagination of place as meaningful and transcending merely the physical aspects of a site. Place, here, is a local condition, an atmosphere or a ‘spirit’ that is to be gathered, revealed, and visualised by the work of architecture. Hua also differs from Norberg-Schulz, in the sense that, unlike the use (or misuse) of Heidegger’s philosophy evident in Norberg-Schulz’s theoretical articulation of architectural phenomenology – concerning qualities of meaning, atmosphere, poetry, and the senses – his concept of place is fraught with fascination at the potential of a place. Instead of the ‘existential meaning’ of architecture, Hua’s interest in place calls for new possibilities of intervening and reconstruction through architectural operations.

Through multi-situated and virtual ethnography, this article investigates the link between mobilities, subalternity, emotions and digital economies. Drawing on the case study of Chinese migrant women’s digital labour and e-commerce in Taiwan, it elucidates the social and emotional construction of translocal virtual markets, which connect online and offline the different temporalities, spatialities and emotions of women’s mobilities. In Taiwan, Chinese migrants contest a local condition of social, economic and cultural subalternity by exploring physical and digital, material and emotional markets. Setting sail through local consumption and translocal logistics, through the online application WeChat an emotional petit capitalism is socially and emotionally produced within women’s daily microcosmos of experiences and practices.

Raja Yoga is a method to connect one’s self to the almighty God (Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa) through the means of tapa, brata, yoga, semadhi. This method is conceptualized in Astangga Yoga passed down by Rsi Patanjali. Terminologically, the practice of Raja Yoga is covered in local genius existed in Terunyan village, Bangli regency. It is done by the so called Teruna (a group of teenagers) as a part of sacred procession of Barong Brutuk dance. Essentially, Raja yoga can be seen in the Makemit process for 42 days with a set of rules, prohibition, and ritual they call Tirtha Kayan Teruna. The success of the Raja Yoga according to local condition is when the teruna achieves niyasa, or a condition where the body and soul become one with God in its system, not overtaking the trance as other sacred dances do in Bali.

Abstract: The geographic position of an area should not be a determinant of the economic development in a region. When a region has a low level orbitation to the central government, it is necessary to find alternative capital that is actually embedded in the community and potential to be developed. Rather, the pattern of central development that be applied in a remote area without regard to local condition will only lead to failure. In this case, social capital that can roll out community based development can be a solution especially for people who living in remote area.
