The problems which arise during the period of expert inspection of the load-lifting cranes which have fulfilled regulatory lifetime, at definition of their actual group of classification (operating mode) are analyzed. It is established that the actual group of classification (mode of operation) of operated cranes, which is determined by the regulations on labor protection (NPAOP), often does not coincide with the passport modes of operation of cranes. A new method of diagnosing the actual classification group (operating mode) of operated cranes has been developed, which allows taking into account the real modes of their loading and classes of use using the value of specific energy consumption of cranes. The proposed method allows to reliably determining the actual group of classification of cranes that have served the regulatory lifetime, taking into account the real operating conditions of all crane mechanisms and their technical condition for the entire period of operation. This makes it possible to reasonably and qualitatively establish the terms and conditions of further safe operation of cranes.

Abstract Tsugaruite was originally defined as a lead-arsenic sulfosalt from the Yunosawa mine, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. Until recently its crystal structure remained unsolved and its actual classification in the sulfosalt realm was unknown. Here the refinement of the crystal structure of tsugaruite using single-crystal X-ray diffraction data is reported. The mineral is orthorhombic, space group P2nn, with unit-cell parameters a = 8.0774(10), b = 15.1772(16), c = 38.129(4) Å, V = 4674.3(9) Å3, in agreement with previous studies. The solution of the crystal structure of this mineral revealed Cl occupying a specific position. Chlorine was thus sought and found using the electron microprobe; the average of six spot analyses gave (in wt.%): Pb 68.04, As 12.83, S 18.29, Cl 0.63, total 99.80. The empirical formula, calculated on the basis of Pb + As = 43 atoms per formula unit, is Pb28.26As14.74S49.08Cl1.52. Tsugaruite is an N = 4 plesiotypic derivative of the homologous series of Pb-Sb chloro-sulfosalts having the general formula Pb(2+2N)(Sb,Pb)(2+2N)S(2+2N)(S,Cl)(4+2N)ClN. It has a Cl/(Cl + S) atomic ratio close to that of other known Pb-Sb chloro-sulfosalts (pillaite, pellouxite) and slightly higher than that of dadsonite.

Cystoseira sensu lato (sl) are three genera widely recognized as bioindicators for their restricted habitat in a sub-coastal zone with low tolerance to pollution. Their ecological, morphological and taxonomic features are still little known due to their singular characteristics. We studied seven species of Cystoseira sl spp. in Cabo de las Huertas (Alicante, SE Spain) and analyzed their distribution using Permutational Analysis of Variance (PERMANOVA) and Principal Component Ordination plots (PCO). A morphological cladogram has been constructed using fifteen phenotypic taxonomic relevant characters. We have also developed an optimized Cystoseira sl DNA extraction protocol. We have tested it to obtain amplicons from mt23S, tRNA-Lys and psbA genes. With these sequence data, we have built a phylogenetic supertree avoiding threatened Cystoseira sl species. Cartography and distribution analysis show that the response to hydrodynamism predicts perennial or seasonal behaviors. Morphological cladogram detects inter-specifical variability between our species and reference studies. Our DNA phylogenetic tree supports actual classification, including for the first-time Treptacantha sauvageauana and Treptacantha algeriensis species. These data support a complex distribution and speciation of Cystoseira sl spp. in the Mediterranean, perhaps involving Atlantic clades. The high ecological value of our area of study merits a future protection status as a Special Conservation Area.

The present research paper aims to reclassify the Egyptian Railway Network taking into consideration the safety and economy factors as Egyptian Railway suffers from track maintenance shortage. Lines are classified into several groups depending on dynamic load parameters to facilitate economic studies and comparisons between the worldwide railways. Then, discussions of four Railway line classifications are studied as follows: Theoretical classification of line Sections according to ENR, Actual classification of line sections according to ENR, UIC line classification and proposed classification of line sections for ENR by following the mentioned techniques. Three objectives are studied to reclassify the Egyptian Railway tracks: determine the traffic loads for all line sections of ENR based on official train schedule for year 2019, the track classification should be continuously defined each year taking the load, train type and the running speed as the main three effective parameters. The present methodology deduce some conclusion and recommendations to ensure both track safety and economical operational

Objective Disorders caused by impairments in the parathyroid hormone (PTH) signalling pathway are historically classified under the term pseudohypoparathyroidism (PHP), which encompasses rare, related and highly heterogeneous diseases with demonstrated (epi)genetic causes. The actual classification is based on the presence or absence of specific clinical and biochemical signs together with an in vivo response to exogenous PTH and the results of an in vitro assay to measure Gsa protein activity. However, this classification disregards other related diseases such as acrodysostosis (ACRDYS) or progressive osseous heteroplasia (POH), as well as recent findings of clinical and genetic/epigenetic background of the different subtypes. Therefore, the EuroPHP network decided to develop a new classification that encompasses all disorders with impairments in PTH and/or PTHrP cAMP-mediated pathway. Design and methods Extensive review of the literature was performed. Several meetings were organised to discuss about a new, more effective and accurate way to describe disorders caused by abnormalities of the PTH/PTHrP signalling pathway. Results and conclusions After determining the major and minor criteria to be considered for the diagnosis of these disorders, we proposed to group them under the term ‘inactivating PTH/PTHrP signalling disorder’ (iPPSD). This terminology: (i) defines the common mechanism responsible for all diseases; (ii) does not require a confirmed genetic defect; (iii) avoids ambiguous terms like ‘pseudo’ and (iv) eliminates the clinical or molecular overlap between diseases. We believe that the use of this nomenclature and classification will facilitate the development of rationale and comprehensive international guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of iPPSDs.

Abstract Eosinophils are innate immune leukocytes recruited in large numbers to sites of allergic inflammation and parasitic infections. Recent studies show additional pleiotropic effects of recruited eosinophils impacting immunomodulation, tissue homeostasis and repair. Pathologic conditions accompanied by blood eosinophilia are quite frequent in medical practice and may raise serious differential diagnosis problems in severe cases, that require a multidisciplinary approach. Hypereosinophilia may be reactive to other diseases or primary, representing hypereosinophilic syndromes, that are diagnosed based on clinical and laboratory criteria, according to actual international guidelines. The etiopathogenic diagnosis is difficult and delayed in many cases and clinical evolution may be severe, with multiorgan involvement and poor prognosis. Some cases remain idiopathic, despite exhaustive investigation. This paper aims to review the most recent data in the literature referring to the role of eosinophils in human pathology, diagnostic criteria and treatment strategies of hypereosinophilic syndromes, actual classification and to draw some useful recommendations in clinical practice.

AbstractIn existing research on syntactic alternations such as the dative alternation, (give her the apple vs. give the apple to her), the linguistic data is often analysed with the help of logistic regression models. In this article, we evaluate the use of logistic regression for this type of research, and present two different approaches: Bayesian Networks and Memory-based learning. For the Bayesian Network, we use the higher-level semantic features suggested in the literature, while we limit ourselves to lexical items in the memory-based approach. We evaluate the suitability of the three approaches by applying them to a large data set (>11,000 instances) extracted from the British National Corpus, and comparing their quality in terms of classification accuracy, their interpretability in the context of linguistic research, and their actual classification of individual cases. Our main finding is that the classifications are very similar across the three approaches, also when employing lexical items instead of the higher-level features, because most of the alternation is determined by the verb and the length of the two objects (here: her and the apple).

Information explosion brings lots of challenges to text classification. The dimension disaster led to a sharp increase of computational complexity and lower classification accuracy. Therefore, it is critical to use feature selection techniques before actual classification. Automatic classification of English text has been researched for many years, but little on Chinese text. In this paper, several classic feature selection methods, namely TF, IG and CHI, are compared on classifying Chinese text. Meanwhile, we take imbalanced data into consideration in the paper. Experimental results show that CHI performed better than IG and TF when the dataset is imbalanced, but no obvious difference on balanced data.

Abstract Context: The term pseudohypoparathyroidism (PHP) indicates a group of heterogeneous disorders whose common feature is represented by impaired signaling of various hormones (primarily PTH) that activate cAMP-dependent pathways via Gsα protein. The two main subtypes of PHP, PHP type Ia, and Ib (PHP-Ia, PHP-Ib) are caused by molecular alterations within or upstream of the imprinted GNAS gene, which encodes Gsα and other translated and untranslated products. Evidence acquisition: A PubMed search was used to identify the available studies (main query terms: pseudohypoparathyroidism; Albright hereditary osteodystrophy; GNAS; GNAS1; progressive osseous heteroplasia). The most relevant studies until February 2011 have been included in the review. Evidence synthesis and conclusions: Despite the first description of this disorder dates back to 1942, recent findings indicating complex epigenetic alterations beside classical mutations at the GNAS complex gene, pointed out the limitation of the actual classification of the disease, resulting in incorrect genetic counselling and diagnostic procedures, as well as the gap in our actual knowledge of the pathogenesis of these disorders. This review will focus on PHP type I, in particular its diagnosis, classification, treatment, and underlying molecular alterations.
