Mobilitas sosial ini terus berlangsung di semua negara khususnya dalam masyarakat industry karena dibutuhkannya sejumlah besar tenaga teknis dan profesional. Golongan sosial tinggi tidak sanggup memenuhi segala kebutuhan itu dan terpaksa mengambilnya dari lapisan sosial yang lebih rendah. Mereka yang lahir dalam golongan atas yang tidak mempunyai motivasi untuk memperoleh kemampuan teknis, profesional atau managerial akan dengan sendirinya turun dalam tangga sosial. Smartphone merupakan alat untuk komunikasi suara atau biasa disebut telepon genggam, Smartphonejuga dilengkapi dengan Mobile Outlook untuk membaca e-mail dan Mobile Web untuk internet browsing. Selain dapat menerima panggilan masuk dan SMS, seperti ponsel pada umumnya, Smartphone juga dapat menerima e-mail, dan juga dapat melakukan real time chatting dengan teman yang sedang online melalui MSN Messenger. Dengan kata lain, telepon genggam ini merupakan komputer mini yang mempunyai kapabilitas sebuah telepon. Pertumbuhan permintaan akan alat canggih yang mudah dibawa kemana-mana membuat kemajuan besar dalam prosesor, memori, layar dan sistem operasi yang di luar dari jalur telepon genggam sejak beberapa tahun ini. Arduino dikatakan sebagai sebuah platform dari physical computing yang bersifat open source. Pertama-tama perlu dipahami bahwa kata “platform” di sini adalah sebuah pilihan kata yang tepat. Arduino tidak hanya sekedar sebuah alat pengembangan, tetapi ia adalah kombinasi dari hardware, bahasa pemrograman dan Integrated Development Environment (IDE) yang canggih. IDE adalah sebuah software yang sangat berperan untuk menulis program, meng-compile menjadi kode biner dan meng-upload ke dalam memory microcontroller. Ada banyak projek dan alat-alat dikembangkan oleh akademisi dan profesional dengan menggunakan Arduino, selain itu juga ada banyak modul-modul pendukung (sensor, tampilan, penggerak dan sebagainya) yang dibuat oleh pihak lain untuk bisa disambungkan dengan Arduino. Arduino berevolusi menjadi sebuah platform karena ia menjadi pilihan dan acuan bagi banyak praktisi. Salah satu yang membuat Arduino memikat hati banyak orang adalah karena sifatnya yang open source, baik untuk hardware maupun software-nya. Diagram rangkaian elektronik Arduino digratiskan kepada semua orang.

This article charts to what extent Moroccan-Dutch young people (12-18 years old) negotiate the affordances of Internet platforms to engage in multi-layered gender identity constructions. I disentangle how the informants creatively make do with the affordances of online discussion forums, MSN Messenger and social networking sites to come to terms with contradictory parental, religious and youth-cultural gender norms. Gender is mobilized as the key analytical category, but intersecting age-specific, religious, migration and youth-cultural power relations are also taken into consideration. The analysis is grounded in quantitative survey data of 344 Moroccan-Dutch students, in-depth interviews with 43 Moroccan-Dutch young people as well as participatory-observations conducted on online discussion forums, MSN Messenger and online social networking sites. The article draws on fieldwork carried out in the context of the Utrecht University research project Wired Up: Digital Media as Innovative Socialization Practices for Migrant Youth.

Over the last fifteen years, in every Arabic-speaking country, young Arabic speakers have begun to write their spoken language in electronic media, such as Facebook, MSN Messenger, and so on.  The new way of writing in social media is a radical deviation from the traditional norm of writing the classical language—as well as what is commonly referred to as Modern Standard Arabic.  This study is presenting this phenomenon in the Levant— Jordan, Lebanon, and Israel/Palestine.

ABSTRACTThis paper aims to present and discuss teaching and learning experiences of Portuguese and English in a project developed at a Brazilian public university located in the state of Mato Grosso. The project counts on the collaboration of an American university and its main goal is to establish tandem partnerships via MSN Messenger. Tandem is a collaborative context in which two people proficient in different languages establish a partnership in order to exchange linguistic and/or cultural knowledge, or any other kind of knowledge. The theoretical foundations for this study are drawn from ideas in Computer Assisted Language Learning, tandem, and collaborative learning. Narrative Inquiry, according Clandinin and Connelly (2000), is used as the research methodology. The field texts involve excerpts of interactions between three participants of the project and their tandem partners, and narratives written by these participants and by me, as the mediator. Although the project is being developed, it was possible to realize that participants faced difficulties while dealing with the autonomy and reciprocity necessary for learning in-tandem.RESUMOEste trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar e discutir experiências de ensino-aprendizagem de português e inglês, vivenciadas em um projeto de extensão de uma universidade pública brasileira, localizada no estado de Mato Grosso. O projeto em questão tem o propósito maior de estabelecer parcerias de tandem via MSN Messenger, e conta com a participação de uma universidade dos Estados Unidos. O tandem é um contexto colaborativo de aprendizagem, pautado por uma parceria entre pessoas proficientes em duas línguas diferentes que buscam compartilhar conhecimentos linguísticos e/ou qualquer outro tipo de conhecimento. O aporte teórico deste trabalho é composto por considerações sobre o ensino de línguas mediado por computador, o contexto de tandem e a aprendizagem colaborativa. A perspectiva teórico-metodológica utilizada é a Pesquisa Narrativa, segundo Clandinin e Connelly (2000). Os textos de campo consistem em excertos de interações de três participantes do projeto com seus respectivos parceiros de tandem, e em relatos de experiência escritos por esses participantes e por mim, enquanto mediadora. Apesar de o projeto estar em andamento, foi possível perceber nos participantes dificuldades em lidar com a autonomia e a reciprocidade necessárias para aprender em contexto de tandem.

As novas tecnologias têm estabelecido um novo cenário para a educação convencional, inserindo o computador e a Internet como elementos de aprimoramento da aprendizagem de línguas. O ambiente de aprendizagem de línguas in-tandem insere-se nesse contexto. O presente artigo tem como objetivo demonstrar que esse ambiente de aprendizagem pode complementar a aula de inglês convencional. Para isso, analisamos três sessões in-tandem, realizadas a distância por meio do aplicativo msn messenger entre um participante brasileiro e outro mexicano, com base nas descrições de aprendizagem de línguas in-tandem. Os resultados indicam que esse ambiente de aprendizagem pode contribuir para a aprendizagem de língua estrangeira em aulas convencionais do Ensino Médio.

Por  considerarmos  a  reflexão  um  processo  complexo,  que  não  acontece  de  formaautomática,  mas  que  pressupõe  a  reconstrução  de  conceitos  e  que  demanda  prática,destacamos o seu aspecto colaborativo. Nesse sentido, acreditamos que o papel de ummediador seja fundamental na condução do processo reflexivo de um indivíduo. Em nossotrabalho,  investigamos a ocorrência de mediação no processo  reflexivo de um grupo demestrandas  em  Lingüística  por  meio  da  análise  das  interações  escritas  síncronasregistradas  durante  uma  aula  realizada  na  modalidade  a  distância  por  intermédio  doaplicativo  MSN  Messenger.  Para  o  nosso  respaldo  teórico,  nos  apoiamos  em  Liberali(1996), Romero (2004) e nos princípios da ironia e da maiêutica Socráticas. Como basepara  a  análise  de  dados,  utilizamos  o  conceito  de modos  de  participação  proposto  porGóes (1994 apud Romero, 2004) e criamos categorias para o que denominamos modosde  participação  interrogativos  (MPIs).  Os  resultados  obtidos  sugerem  que  a  mediaçãoacontece e que a professora é a participante que mais ativamente atua como mediadorado processo reflexivo.

Technology today has progressed at a rapid rate, as well as with instant messaging growing into all aspects of life, even more so in the advancement of communication technology. By using the VoIP feature, users can communicate by voice via the Internet. Messenger as a communication medium that is fast, accurate and low cost is expected to meet the need for a practical communication media. The purpose of this study is to analyze and design a messaging application called Bee-Messenger which will be used as a medium of instant messaging in Bina Nusantara University, and also analyze the needs of users with feature-contained in commonly used messenger applications. Research methods used are literature review, field studies, and field observations. Evaluation is based on the comparison of Bee-Messenger features with the same features found in Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger. Bee-Messenger can also activate YM and MSN messaging accounts simultaneously in a single application that gives users a practical application messaging.
