Land use in Lumajang Regency is dominated by agricultural land. However, over time there was a conversion of agricultural land into residential land as a result of an increase in population. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern and area of optimal land-use allocation increase economic value in Lumajang Regency. The method used in this study was linear programming with the simplex method. The maximum farming income obtained from optimizing land use is Rp710,306,800,000.00. The optimal land-use area for paddy fields is 42,686.71 ha, the protected forest is 12,652 ha, and residential land is 18,284 ha. The optimal proportion of land use is 58% rice fields, 17% protected forests, and 25% settlements. The optimal paddy field area has decreased by 6,003.26 ha from the land area in 2018 because there are paddy fields that do not match their characteristics. The largest area of rice field reduction in Candipuro District is 2,138.51 ha. Meanwhile, the direction for the allocation of residential land has increased settlement land from 2018 with an area of 1,114.1 ha. The development of residential land is allocated to land that has been planned for settlement in the Spatial Planning (RTRW), potential land that has a slope value of 0 - 25%, and areas with low population density. The largest additional area of residential land in Pronojiwo District is 300 ha.

Denpasar City is the capital city of Bali Province which has a rapid population growth rate every year. Along with the rapid population growth, this has an impact on meeting the needs of housing and other regional service facilities. The increasing number of population automatically causes an increase in the need for housing. Analysis of residential land supporting capacity and supply capability needed to preserve the environment. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach which describes and describes the results in the form of numbers or nominal values by explaining clearly either with the help of pictures, tables, or graphs. The quantitative data described are the population, land area and land capability area to support and accommodate housing as a place to live in Denpasar City. Based on the results of the analysis using the overlapping method and scoring using a GIS application. Denpasar City potential land to be developed as a residential area after being adjusted to the settlement plan in the Denpasar City Spatial Plan is available for 454,73 hectares of the total area of Denpasar City of 12,521 hectares or about 3.63% of land in Denpasar city. The capacity of Denpasar City houses is able to accommodate around 44.736 housing units and 178.943 residents. There are 2 sub-districts that are not able to accommodate the population in 2030, namely South Denpasar and North Denpasar. However, cumulatively, Denpasar City is still able to accommodate population growth in 2030 in obtaining residential land. This study aims to find out the potential conflicts on Land Deeds made by Notaries and to find out Notary efforts in making Land Deeds to minimize potential land conflicts. The method used in this study is the normative legal research method. In addition, the statute approach, conceptual approach, and analytical approach are the approach used in this study. The results of this study showed that (1) potential conflicts on Land Deeds made by Notaries are due to Notaries in carrying out their positions tend to be in a dilemma which on the one hand must comply with legal provisions with a normative nature, and on the other hand, empirical facts are so complex and often cannot be handled and accommodated by regulations that tend to be rigid. This is because when carrying out its positions, the Notary must serve the client, while the client needs service without being too concerned with the regulations that bind the Notary. (2) Notary efforts in issuing Land Deeds to minimize the potential for Land Conflicts are required to examine the completeness of documents by applying the precautionary principle to protect the real owner and reduce conflicts in the land sector. The application of the precautionary principle of the Notary in producing the PPJB deed and the Lease Agreement deed to registered land rights to be registered at the Land Office must start from the stage before the deed, the stage at which the deed is made and the reading of the deed.

Abstract Deaths due to the COVID-19 pandemic in East Sumba raised the problem of limited burial grounds, so the government tried to provide a new location. The Hambala Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK) has a potential land to be used as a burial site by MoEF Regulation No.P.27/2018. The study analyzed the suitability of burial grounds using a GIS-based multi-criteria approach. Criteria and indicators cover the legality (license status of forests, policies), management (master plans, detailed plans), technical (human resources, infrastructure), socio-economic (pandemic, grave needs, economic impacts, culture, conflict), and ecological (topography, land cover, distance to water sources and settlements). A multi-criteria evaluation of the proposed use of KHDTK covering an area of 17 ha resulted in three scenarios of the burial land suitability map, namely the ‘strict scenario’ covering an area of 1.5 hectares; moderate scenario covering an area of 6.5 hectares, and ‘scenario loosely’ covering an area of 14.2 hectares. The third scenario as a reference for managers and stakeholders is lend-use of Forest Areas for burial grounds by government cooperation mechanism.

Mangrove ecosystems at the estuary of Teleng River, Pacitan Bay, call for preservation, protection, and development as a natural vegetative defense against tsunami impacts. Limited availability of potential land for mangrove growth poses a challenge to sustainable mangrove management. To anticipate land acquisition for another use, it is necessary to study land suitability for mangrove and mangrove conservation priorities in the Pacitan Bay. The land suitability parameters consisted of landform, slope, soil texture, and tidal fluctuation, while the mangrove conservation priority was determined based on several aspects: mangrove land cover reduction, mangrove damage level, beach ridge and riparian zone, and land suitability. The results indicate that lands with high potential for mangroves are distributed along Teleng and Grindulu Rivers but not precisely at the estuary. Based on the suitability results, highly potential and potential lands are proposed for mangrove planting, while existing mangroves are for protection and preservation zones, especially on the sides where relatively young mangroves grow for their roots are not strong enough to withstand river currents.

Rating the potential land use for crop production and/or ranching is typically a process where production gains counterbalance environmental losses. Whereas the production gains are often easy to verify, the environmental losses may render visibility through the changes in the ecosystem service, such as water and habitat quality, carbon storage, etc., thus, leaving the decision maker with a multi-criteria problem. The present study demonstrates how partial-order methodology constitutes an advantageous tool for rating/ranking land use that takes trade-offs into account. It is demonstrated that not only the optimal choice of area, on an average basis, e.g., for crop production, is disclosed, but also the relative importance of the included indicators (production gains, ecosystem losses). A short introduction is given, applying data from a recent Chinese study looking for the optimal monoculture as a function of ecosystem tradeoffs. A more elaborate system applying data from the esgame was used, disclosing the most beneficial area for crop production and for ranching, as well as the relative indicators’ importance. The study further demonstrates that a single composite indicator obtained by simple aggregation of indicator values as a ranking tool may lead to a result where gains are optimized; however, this comes at the expense of the environment.

The study focused on elements discussed during pre-marital counselling and how those elements mediate on the sustainability of marriages in Greater Accra Region. Concurrent triangulation mixed method design was chosen for the study. For the quantitative phase 100 marriage people were randomly selected from 10 churches. At the qualitative phase 4 head pastors were conveniently selected from the 10 churches. Mean and standard deviation was used to analysed the questionnaire for the quantitative phase while the semi-structured interview scheduled was thematically analysed to explain issues as they emerged in the study. The study showed conflict resolution, communication, adjusting to individual difference, sex and romance, family lifecycles in marriage and separation from past-memories and families were some elements discussed during pre-marital counselling to help sustain the marriages. Again, respondents were of the view that pre-marital counselling is vital for the sustainability of marriages and should be made compulsory for new couples. Lastly, it was revealed the philosophy of pre-marital counselling is not only being aware of potential land mines in their relationship, but to equip married people to learn the skills necessary to successfully deal with challenges throughout their marriage which help in the sustainability. Therefore, it was recommended that the churches should employ professional counsellors who understand the principle of marriage counselling to perform the act of counselling and follow-up service should be done to check if the elements discussed during pre-marital counselling are being put into practice.
