Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a bacterium capable of producing Cry toxins, which are recognized for their bio-controlling actions against insects. However, a few Bt strains encode proteins lacking insecticidal activity but showing cytotoxic activity against different cancer cell lines and low or no cytotoxicity toward normal human cells. A subset of Cry anticancer proteins, termed parasporins (PSs), has recently arisen as a potential alternative for cancer treatment. However, the molecular receptors that allow the binding of PSs to cells and their cytotoxic mechanisms of action have not been well established. Nonetheless, their selective cytotoxic activity against different types of cancer cell lines places PSs as a promising alternative treatment modality. In this review, we provide an overview of the classification, structures, mechanisms of action, and insights obtained from genetic modification approaches for PS proteins.

A great number of various factors to a different extent impact iron ore treatment, properties of mineral composition of ore and parameters of technological equipment being some of them. To solve the problem of improving performance of a concentration plant in terms of the concentrate, it is required to elaborate effective scheduled procedures, upgrade technological equipment, develop methods of control over concentration processes considering technological properties of ore fed. There is suggested a method of improving efficiency of magnetic concentration of iron ore under the action of high-intensity ultrasound. There are established dependencies between physical-mechanical and chemical-mineralogical characteristics of iron ore slurry solids and their behavior in technological flows under controlled ultrasonic vibrations, this enabling simulation modelling of the process and specification of optimal controlling actions. The research object is assessment of characteristics and control of iron ore magnetic concentration on the technological line of the ore concentration plant. The research subject is the cyber-physical system based on using impacts of highintensity ultrasound on slurry solids to assess characteristics of iron ore magnetic concentration. Obtained dependencies and mathematical models of the non-linear spatial process of high-intensity ultrasound propagation in the iron ore slurry enable implementing the method of assessing characteristics of iron ore magnetic concentration and due to this increase efficiency of the mentioned operations. There are suggested methods of calculating intensity of high-intensity ultrasound in a certain point of the measurement area in order to perform forecast displacement of ground ore particles and changes of the fraction composition of slurry solids under the controlled action of high-intensity ultrasonic vibrations. The developed method and the software-engineering complex for its implementation enable restoring a function of distributing ground ore particles by sizes, forecasting results of technological operations and forming controlling actions.

This article aims to reinforce the understanding of the concepts, characteristics, and scope of studies in Arabic language curriculum management. This type of research includes library research, which is a descriptive qualitative research. The data was collected using the documentation method. Meanwhile, data analysis was carried out through qualitative (non-statistical) analysis methods on the basis of which conclusions were drawn using an inductive frame of mind. The results show that the Arabic language curriculum management is a distinctive process consisting of planning, organizing, directing and controlling actions carried out on the implementation of the Arabic language curriculum by utilizing all existing supporting aspects in order to achieve effective, efficient and optimal goals in accordance with which have been set. The characteristic or characteristic of Arabic language curriculum management is that it contains religious values, either real or cultural values. The scope of operational problems which are the Arabic language curriculum management studies, namely: Management planning and curriculum development; Management of curriculum implementation; Supervision of curriculum implementation; Curriculum monitoring and assessment; Curriculum improvement; Decentralization and curriculum centralization; and labor issues.

This chapter describes a unified theory of how the prefrontal cortex interacts with multiple brain regions to carry out the higher cognitive, emotional, and decision-making processes that define human intelligence, while also controlling actions to achieve valued goals. This predictive Adaptive Resonance Theory, or pART, model builds upon the foundation in earlier chapters. Prefrontal functions are often called executive functions. Executive functions regulate flexible and adaptive behaviors, notably in novel situations, while suppressing actions that are no longer appropriate, notably reflexive responses to current sensory inputs. Working memory is particularly involved in contextually appropriate behaviors. Prefrontal properties of desirability, availability, credit assignment, category learning, and feature-based attention are explained. These properties arise through interactions of orbitofrontal, ventrolateral prefrontal, and dorsolateral prefrontal cortices with inferotemporal cortex, perirhinal cortex, parahippocampal cortices; ventral bank of the principal sulcus, ventral prearcuate gyrus, frontal eye fields, hippocampus, amygdala, basal ganglia, hypothalamus, and visual cortical areas V1, V2, V3A, V4, MT, MST, LIP, and PPC. Model explanations include how the value of visual objects and events is computed, which objects and events cause desired consequences and which may be ignored as predictively irrelevant, and how to plan and act to realize these consequences, including how to selectively filter expected vs. unexpected events, leading to movements towards, and conscious perception of, expected events. Modeled processes include reinforcement learning and incentive motivational learning; object and spatial working memory dynamics; and category learning, including the learning of object categories, value categories, object-value categories, and sequence categories, or list chunks.

In the current, empirically grounded paper, we first explore the ways in which manual actions, that is actions performed with hands and arms such as reaching, grasping, and manipulating objects, shape the mind. Based on recent empirical research, we suggest six embodied developmental pathways which solve unique challenges faced by infants and children during development. I) Co-opted motor simulation allows action anticipation, II) interactive specialisation allows executive control to emerge from reaching and grasping. III) Active exploration and IV) error based-learning facilitate cognition and perception. Action based social interactions facilitate V) language development and VI) gesture comprehension. These pathways exemplify how manual actions and the underlying neural processes controlling actions are used by the infant to structure the world and develop cognitive capacities and learn from interactions with the physical and social world. Through an individual difference, correlational approach, we note that these abilities and processes measured in infancy have long-term associations with cognitive and perceptual development into childhood and beyond.

Purpose. The research is aimed at developing and introducing methods of knowledge extraction concerning online control over power systems under emergency modes and building smart complexes of automatizing managerial decision making based on incorporated ontological knowledge bases. Methodology. The authors use the calculated planned experiment method applied to building sensitivity matrices of controlled parameters of power systems in sensor points to controlled factors and introduction of sensitivity coefficients into knowledge bases. Findings. The research suggests methods for obtaining and building a knowledgebase of professional ontologies for online control over power system modes. The problem of calculating sensitivity of controlled parameters to controlling actions is solved. Calculation results for the emergency mode enable building impact functions and determining sensitivity matrix coefficients. The smart system knowledgebase is built to provide decision support for dispatch control over power system modes under standard and emergency conditions. There are obtained sets of mode data used as knowledgebase components enabling efficient assessment of the emergency mode rate and its dispatch correction. Besides calculation parameters of intensity of controlling actions, the knowledgebase also comprises linguistic concepts, facts and rules of instructive dispatch materials. A knowledge base has been built on the basis of a subset of the linguistic corpus of concepts for the professional area of emergency response in the power system. Originality. For the first time, there is suggested an approach to incorporating various linguistic knowledge forms represented by a single ontological model and numerical parameters of sensitivity of the power system mode to controlling actions into an integrated knowledgebase, which enables building effective smart systems of dispatch decision support and implementing them into the operating automatized dispatch control system. Practical value. The ontological knowledgebase of online dispatch control is built that enables realizing a software complex of a decision support system aimed at automatizing online dispatch control over standard and emergency modes of power systems. Application of the suggested approach to building the knowledgebase and its use with online dispatch personnels decision support enhance reliability and increase maximum accessible time of personnels non-stop work by 1.5 years with absolute accident elimination, thus providing a significant economic effect.
