Reading of literature is important type of activity contributed to the formation of identity and worldview. Reading for teenagers has become an optional activity, perceived as the leisure, preference is given to watching TV, computer games, social networks and etс. These changes are principally related to the processes taking place in modern society, including the increasing representation of digital technologies in the life of adolescents. Psychological study showed that in the structure of reading motivation of today adolescents can be distinguished: benefit motive, entertainment motive, escapism motive, personal motive, compulsion motive, social motive. At the same time, more than a third of adolescents do not have any formed reading motivation, and prevail motives for reading are external motives: benefit motives, entertainment and compulsion motives. The age dynamic and gender differences can be traced. Sociological surveys show that the reading circle of adolescents consists of printed and electronic books and periodicals. The proportions change towards the preference for electronic reading. Despite the fact that the Internet has increased the intensity of teenagers reading, they read not only e-books, but also news, encyclopedias, humorous sites, publications about celebrities and music portals. Thus, digitalization increases the volume of reading, but decreases its quality.

Mexico is currently emerging in the photovoltaic manufacturing market due to favorable geographical conditions like 5.5 hours of sun every day (5000W/m2) and a strategic commercial partner (USA) for exportation of photovoltaic products, therefore a gradual advance in the photovoltaic field as a source of clean energy generation in Mexico is inevitable, this causes a need to classify solar simulators located in photovoltaic manufacturing facilities across the whole country. The construction of a standard for the classification of large area solar simulators in non- uniformity irradiance (MMNU) was achieved, considering specifications of the international standards IEC90604-9 and IEC90604-2. The procedure for using this MMNU substantially improves the classification time of a large area solar simulation and its versatility of use in an industrial environment, resulting in suitable on-site measurements. The MMNU is composed of six electronic reading circuits and 36 cells which are connected individually, it can generate an irradiance map up to 72 regions and the measurement uncertainty within the operating temperature conditions of 29 C to 31 C was 1.1 % using the mathematical expression for non-uniformity in the standard IEC90604-9. Various strategies have been outlined to reduce the measurement uncertainty of the entire system, like reducing its thermal drift during measurement and improving the measurement uncertainty in electrical voltage by creating a new electronic reading module that would include a more robust microcontroller and A/D converter with higher resolution.

Many libraries have built and opened the electronic reading room, electronic reading room security management has been paid more and more attention. In the specific safety management, the prevention and control of reader factors is very important. By comparing and analyzing the prevention and control of reader factors in the safety management of some electronic reading rooms, it can be found that the corresponding prevention and control situation is not ideal, and even there are some obvious problems, which also leads to great hidden dangers in the safety management level. This paper will specifically analyze the prevention and control of reader factors in the safety management of electronic reading room, and put forward more effective prevention and control strategies.

These days, screen reading has been widely adopted and discussed by school teachers and researchers. However, few studies have been conducted to formally evaluate the effectiveness of screen reading in improving EFL students’ English reading comprehension, not to mention investigating the factors affecting their reading comprehension outcomes. In this study, a personalized electronic reading approach was proposed for an EFL reading comprehension course; moreover, a learning analytics approach was used to analyze factors affecting the students’ personalized reading comprehension outcomes. A 14-week research design was implemented with the online personalized reading approach using Microsoft Teams as the platform for facilitating and recording peer-to-peer interactions during the screen reading process. In addition, the STUDENTS’ perceptions were surveyed at the end of the 14 weeks. The results show that the experimental group was more engaged and motivated with the use of a personalized e-book reading program and that the group with personalized feedback showed more interaction according to learning analytics data which was collected through the LMS.

The use of computers and electronic devices for recreational reading and for reading in educational settings has gone up significantly in recent years. Whereas the digital revolution is rapidly changing the world, it is also changing education. This study examined the perceptions of secondary school EFL learners in Turkey of their e-reading experiences based on their gamified electronic reading practices in school and their influence on reading comprehension performance in an EFL class. The findings revealed that the implementation of e-book reading resulted in higher comprehension levels and more positive reading attitudes. Participant students showed a preference for printed books rather than electronic books for leisure due to the sense of ownership that the printed text storybooks offered. However, the results indicate that EFL learners' use of screen reading has the potential to improve students' attitudes towards reading in educational settings.

With the rapid development of mobile devices, users can now read on the screen. Electronic reading (e-reading) has become a common reading style with the growth in online learning or electronic learning (e-learning). E-book applications (APPs) are widely developed and applied for reading on a screen. However, it is difficult for readers to change their reading habits or preference from paper-printed books to digital devices. The study of readers' continuance intention to use e-book APPs is the first step to improving e-reading. This study focuses on the influential factors on undergraduates' continuance intention of e-book APPs, which analyzed and summarized the literature related to the electronic book (e-book) applications (APPs) and undergraduates' continuous intention, combined with the characteristics of the e-book APPs, introduced relevant theories and variables, and established the factors that influence undergraduates' continuous intention of using e-book APPs. On this basis, the paper analyzed the relationship between various influencing factors and their influence on continuous intention. A model composed of five hypotheses was constructed to test the factors influencing undergraduates' continuous intention in e-book APPs. The results indicated that of all research variables, satisfaction is the most important factor that affects continuous intention; Perceived usefulness and perceived playfulness have an indirect effect on continuous intention through satisfaction; personalization has direct effects on perceived usefulness and perceived playfulness, so it also has an indirect effect on continuous intention. The findings of the study will be helpful for designers and developers of e-book APPs and provide e-book APP suggestions for readers as well.

The young generation, born into digital technologies and called Millennials or the Y-Generation, are raised in a world where everybody has a computer in their pockets (Hamari et al., 2014), and they are constantly engaged in digital activities. However, research on the impact of digital devices on learners’ educational performance and motivation is still an emerging field. This article aims to examine perceptions of the sixth-grade students in Turkey of their e-reading experiences on the basis of their personalized/gamified/PDF electronic reading practices in school and the influences of their perceptions on their reading comprehension and levels of motivation in English as a foreign language (EFL) classroom. The study follows a quasi-experimental approach with four treatment groups and a control group, involving 96 sixth-grade state school students in Turkey. The three treatment groups read in order from the personalized/gamified/PDF electronic reading for 5 weeks whereas the control group used printed guided reading program. The results indicate that EFL learners’ use of screen reading has the potential to increase reading motivation of the students. However, no significant difference was observed in their reading comprehension levels despite the use of different reading medium in control and experimental groups.
