The article considers the importance of using computer-aided design (CAD) systems to train competitive specialists in their field, in particular future technology teachers, who must be responsive to change and be competent in all innovations in information and communication technologies. In particular, in the process of training teachers of CAD, technology is used for designing and engineering products, objects, technological processes, as well as controlling and developing technical documentation. The possibilities of the computer program PRO 100 are revealed: the majority of operations connected with designing are realized quickly and simply using the mouse; fast access to an additional set of tools such as positioning, alignment, rotation; six types of viewing of details; creation of new detail and storage in the library with new source data, calculation of the number of materials and accessories and their price. The advantages of using the PRO 100 program when designing furniture sets on the example of a kitchen cabinet are identified. They are as follows: 3D visualization allows you to view the product, both in general and in detail in all projections, which motivates students to design activities; the possibility of step-by-step and versatile design of products of varying complexity; possibility of self-control and constructive changes at any stage of designing. The structural elements of the kitchen cabinet are singled out, namely: the components of the product “received” the name, size, material for manufacture, which is reflected in the specification of parts, and at any stage of design, you can make changes and control the process.A clear algorithm for the sequence of logically-ordered actions for product design has been developed, which includes the following: specification of each design stage with the demonstration in the corresponding figure, proposed simpler ways to design parts for better assimilation. The purpose of the article is to analyze the basic materials used in the design of modern cabinet furniture in the kitchen and determine their qualitative and aesthetic gradations. The article applies methods of analysis and synthesis and information processing. The varieties and characteristics of materials for the manufacture of kitchen cabinet furniture of modern apartments from the existing range of materials are analyzed. Materials for the manufacture of kitchen furniture were classified and divided into certain categories, their use in these categories was also determined. It was proposed to classify the materials that are used in the manufacture of kitchen furniture in modern apartments according to qualitative and aesthetic gradation. The criteria for assessing the qualitative and aesthetic gradation of materials are: naturalness and environmental friendliness of materials, reuse of materials, use of innovative technologies and solutions. The cost of the material according to the 100-point system highlighted a definite connection between the high price of the material and its qualitative and aesthetic appearance. One of the main criteria of modern production is the ability to combine materials and the use of materials in original places of structures. The possibility of varying and combining, the use of materials in original places of designs - gives the product uniqueness and competitiveness in the furniture market. A comprehensive analysis of the basic materials used in the design of modern cabinet furniture in the kitchen is carried out and their qualitative and aesthetic gradations, the estimated ball cost of the materials are determined, and options for combining materials are proposed. The results can be used by designers in the design of kitchen cabinet furniture of modern apartments, as well as in their subsequent production. The results of the study give an image of the materials in the design of modern cabinet furniture, and will help not only in professional design, but also in the educational process.

The parametric method of product design is a pivotal and practical technique in computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) and used in many manufacturing sectors. In this paper, we presented a novel parametric method to design a kitchen product in the residential environment, a kitchen cabinet, by using cubic T-Bézier curves with constraints of geometric continuities. First, we introduced a class of cubic T-Bézier curves with two shape parameters and derived the G1 and G2 continuity conditions of the cubic T-Bézier curves. Then, we constructed shape-controlled complex contour curves of the kitchen cabinet by using closed composite cubic T-Bézier curves. The shapes of the contour curves can be adjusted intuitively and predictably by altering the values of the shape parameters. Finally, we studied shape optimization and representation of ellipses for the contour curves of the kitchen cabinet by finding optimal shape parameters and applicable control points respectively. The provided modeling examples showed that our method in this paper can improve the design and scheme adjustment effectively in the conceptual design stage of kitchen products.

Based on fuzzy analytic hierarchy process, this paper studied and established a comprehensive evaluation model of L-shaped kitchen cabinets from four aspects, which are as follows: functionality, aesthetics, economy and safety, the weight value of each attribute was calculated, then the model was applied to a kitchen cabinet product design. The results show that the economic and safety factors have high weight values in the kitchen cabinets product design, which means those aspects of kitchen cabinets product design should be adjusted to improve overall performance. FAHP has high feasibility and effectiveness in the practices of comprehensive evaluation, which can provide a reference for the evaluation and optimization of kitchen cabinets product design.

This book provides a historical survey of African Americans involved in food service for U.S. presidents and the First Families. The main themes of this book are that these African Americans were culinary artists, family confidantes, and, at times, civil rights advocates. Instead of going by chronological order through each presidential administration, the book is organized by investigating different categories of presidential food service professionals: bartender, butler, caterer, chef, cook, guest chef, maid, maître d'hôtel, steward, and usher. Within each category, select African Americans are profiled. The profiles detail: the personal backgrounds of the presidential cooks; how they entered presidential food service; the material conditions of their workspace; what their typical day was like; how the racial attitudes of the president, the First Family, in Washington, D.C. and the broader society and the society around them have affected their status as White House workers and their workplace; and how they related to the presidents for whom they worked. The book also illuminates the different approaches that U.S. presidents have had towards the food operations at the executive residence, whether that be at the White House, or when the president travels elsewhere. The book concludes with a look at how the contemporary White House kitchen operates, how it inspires young people to the profession, and the prospects for future African American presidential chefs. Each chapter ends with actual presidential recipes or some inspired by select U.S. presidents.
