In her fascinating but frustrating new book, Very Important People: Status and Beauty in the Global Party Circuit, American sociologist, Ashley Mears (2020) offers both academic and mainstream readers a titillating, cross-over tour around the “cool” nightclub and party scene of the “global elite.” It is perhaps not so much global, however, as American, in the sense of the heteropatriarchal, middle-aged, male, working rich of America (or more precisely of its financial capital New York), jetting into their traditional party hotspots of Miami, Saint-Tropez, or the French Riviera, to party with young women who are (indirectly) paid (in-kind) to pose with them. Whether intentional or unintentional, along the way Mears also offers a dark mirror to the fears and fantasies of a rather lost millennial generation, raised in a new media, image age, which has coupled fast and furious performative excess to old fashioned sexual objectification, in the guise of fun and empowerment for the beautiful people.

One of the main tasks of every pedagogue is to critically think and evaluate their own work in order to constantly improve and adapt to the needs of children. In this way, the child is placed at the very center of the educational process, which is the goal of the modern educational process. As part of his work, he creates and implements prevention programs, which leads to risk reduction and strengthening of protective factors for the development of behavioral problems. It should be noted that risk reduction and strengthening of protective factors should be started at the youngest possible age of the child. He also notes that he assesses the needs of whole groups of children, suggests different forms of support to other participants, consults with teachers, children, parents, and all other important people in the child's life. In other words, he creates the conditions for a child's healthy development to change his behavior and effectively meet his own needs by respecting norms, rules, and boundaries.

Most work on COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy has focused on its attitudinal and demographic correlates of individuals, but the characteristics of vaccines themselves also appear to be important. People are more willing to take vaccines with higher reported levels of efficacy and safety. Has this dynamic sparked hesitancy towards specific vaccines? We conduct a series of cross-sectional survey experiments to test for brand-based differences in vaccination intention, perceived efficacy, and perceived safety. Examining more than 6,500 individuals in a series of cross-sectional surveys, we find that respondents report less willingness to take AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines compared to those from Pfizer and Moderna, despite all vaccines being approved as safe by a federal regulator. Further, these brand preferences are meaningful: respondents report willingness to wait months for their preferred vaccine over AstraZeneca. We show that these brand effects are strongest among people who are usually most open to mass vaccination efforts. Our findings call for additional research on the determinants and consequences of COVID-19 vaccine-specific hesitancy and communication strategies to minimize this challenge.

Public awareness and knowledge of environmental protection are crucial to avoid environmental pollutions. Lack of relevant scientific principles and lack of public awareness of environmental or other projects are hindrances to controlling environmental pollution. The objective of the study was to identify the importance of public awareness in environmental pollution management. Environmental education and public awareness are crucial to avoid environmental pollutions. The study aims to analyze public awareness of environmental protection. The study was conducted in Sharana, the center of Paktika province, and was attended by 71 students from the Paktika Higher Education Institute’s Education Faculty. Questionnaires and field observations have been selected as methodologies for this research. The results of the study show that 59.2 percent of survey participants consider public awareness and 35.2 percent think that enforcement of environmental laws is important. People in Paktika do not take part in environmental activities due to a lack of public awareness and throw away pollutants everywhere. If this situation continues, it is not far off that it will turn into a disaster.

The significant increase in the number of Covid-19 cases from December 2020 to June 2021 has forced Indonesia to implement PPKM to date. Therefore, people are increasingly worried about leaving the house, especially for those who have to go to work, meet important people, return to their hometowns, and various other important activities. PCR is the answer and requirement for people who want to do important activities outside the home. However, the PCR test itself makes the public even more hesitant in carrying out the PCR test because the price is too high for the Indonesian people. The purpose of this study itself is to find out how the pricing policy of medical devices is seen from the perspective of the community and understand what are the factors that make medical devices and medicines expensive. Therefore, we conducted studies and research on government policies regarding medical devices that are still controversial as well as the pros and cons of pricing medical devices for Covid-19 detection. This type of research is normative legal research whose implementation is focused on collecting secondary data. This study concludes that the policies made by the government in determining the price of PCR are still not accessible to most Indonesians. The government should make new policies that are relevant for all Indonesian citizens in determining the price of PCR, medicines, and other medical devices. Factors that decrease the price of medical equipment itself are caused by the pressure and pressure experienced by the community. The community requested that the lowered price be affordable for all people without discriminating because all of them have the same rights in this regard, especially health. The quality of medical devices provided and provided is the best for the Indonesian people because the better the quality, the more people believe in the Covid-19 diagnostic test so that tracking, checking and treatment can reach all people quickly and responsively. The rights of Indonesian citizens in health must be fulfilled during this pandemic, as is the obligation of the state to protect its citizens without exception.
