The background of this research is because students often confide in the researcher. They want material that is contemporary, contextual, nor merely textual. Therefore, the researcher took one of the materials about the procedural text combined with the theory of meaning change. The procedural text that the researcher used was a text about how to make crafts out of paper. The purpose of this study was to determine the benefits of the theory of meaning change in the procedural text material for class VII students. The method that researcher used in this research is descriptive analysis. The researcher took the theory of meaning change literature by Abdul Chaer. The results of this study indicate that theory of meaning change is beneficial when it is translated into procedural text material. Last, the conclusion of this research shows that theory of meaning change is beneficial when combined with procedural text material.

This research was aimed at finding out how the condition of students interest in writing procedural text by using Cooking academy game at Telkom Senior high School. As a student learning by ICT (Information and Communication Technology) becomes a fundamental requirement in determining quality and effectiveness of learning process. This research was conducted at eleven grade students at Telkom senior high school with 34 students as a sample. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The data instruments were questionnaire  and interview. The result showed that most of the students had difficulties in writing procedural text, they and needed a media for helping them in learning process. Based on the interview of the students Telkom senior high school interested in Cooking Academy game in writing procedural text, after doing Cooking Academy game their vocabulary became more varied and easier poured into a text and writing process became more interesting and enjoyable, they could used it anytime and anywhere. Keywords: Analysis, Writing, Cooking Academy

Abstrak Mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang sering diremehkan oleh para siswa. Akan tetapi, kenyataannya pada evaluasi akhir banyak ditemukan nilai terendah yang diperoleh siswa berasal dari mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Subjek penelitian adalah 27 siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 06 Dau Malang. Program lesson study ini dilakukan dalam 4 siklus dengan menerapkan pendekatan saintifik yang diimplementasikan melalui strategi pembelajaran inkuiri. Strategi tersebut berimplikasi pada pemakaian metode inkuiri, diskusi, dan kunjung kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keatifan siswa dapat ditingkatkan. Peningkatan keaktifan siswa tersebut beriringan dengan tujuan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan saintifk yang meliputi (1) menanya/menjawab teks prosedur, (2) menerapkan penulisan teks prosedur, dan (3) mengomunikasikan menanggapi teks prosedur. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan pemakaian pendekatan saintifik dalam kegiatan lesson study dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Kata kunci: keaktifan siswa, lesson study, pendekatan saintifik Abstract Bahasa Indonesia subject is one of the subjects that is often underestimated by students. However, it was found that the lowest scores obtained by students came from Indonesian subjects in the final evaluation. This research aimed to increase student activeness in Indonesian subjects by analysing 27 research subjects on grade VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 06 Dau Malang. This lesson study program was carried out in 4 cycles by applying a scientific approach through an inquiry learning strategy. This strategy implied to the use of inquiry, discussion, and group visits methods. The results showed that students activity could be improved. Increasing the activeness of students goes parallel with the learning objectives by using a scientific approach which includes (1) asking / answering procedure texts, (2) applying procedural text writing, and (3) communicating responding to procedural texts. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the use of a scientific approach in lesson study activities can increase student activeness in Bahasa Indonesia subjects. Keywords: student activity, lesson study, scientific approach

Artikel ini penggunaan model pembelajaran “Picture and Picture” dalam pembelajaran menulis teks prosedur. Metode yang digunakan ialah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan “one group pretest-posttest design”. Sampel yang terpilih adalah kelas VII A SMP Terpadu Miftahul Ulum. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah penggunaan lembar tes, penggunaan lembar angket atau kuesioner, penggunaan pedoman observasi, dan penggunaan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan 1) kemampuan menulis teks prosedur mengalami peningkatan dilihat dari perolehan nilai peserta didik dengan selisih 14 angka, 2) hasil  uji prasyarat pengolahan data memperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model membelajaran “Picture and Picture” dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran teks prosedur, 3) model pembelajaran “Picture and Picture” dapat mempermudah pembelajaran menulis teks prosedur, dan 4) model pembelajaran “Picture and Picture” efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks prosedur. Kata kunci: Menulis, teks prosedur, picture and picture..Abstract:This article discusses the use the "Picture and Picture" learning model in learning to write procedural texts. The method used an experimental method with a "one group pretest-posttest design". The sample was class VII A SMP Terpadu Miftahul Ulum. The data collection techniques utilized test sheets, questionnaire sheets, observation guidelines, and interview guidelines. The results of this study indicate that 1) the ability to write procedural text has increased as seen from students' scores with 14 points increase 2) the results of the data processing of prerequisite test obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 so it can be concluded that "Picture and Picture" learning model can be used in learning procedure text, 3) the "Picture and Picture" learning model can make it easier to learn to write procedure text, and 4) the "Picture and Picture" learning model is effective to use in learning to write procedure text.Keywords: writing, procedural text, picture and picture

This study aims to improve the students’ outcomes in learning to write English procedural texts through the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM). The research subjects were 27 students of MTs Negeri 1 Jepara. This research was conducted in 3 cycles in which the students worked in groups of four. In first cycle, the students describe a picture of a certain food or drink menu using the PWIM, while in second cycle the students explain the procedure of making food/drink recipes as in cycle 1. In the third cycle, the students ask for or provide information on food/beverage recipes using the PWIM. Data collection was carried out simultaneously with observation during the action, while the data analysis was carried out simultaneously at the time of reflection on the action. From the results of analysis/reflection, it reveals whether the action will be terminated (if it has reached the target) or continues to achieve the target. The data analysis was performed using the triangulation method. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes in participating in learning English writing with the PWIM. In the original situation, there were only 8 students (22.22%) out of 27 students who could describe certain objects/people/ places. In the first cycle of action, there were 10 students (37.04%) who could make the procedure text more correctly. In the second cycle, 17 students (62.96%) could write procedural texts correctly. In the third cycle, there was an increase in student learning outcomes. There were 27 students (100%) who could write the procedural text correctly.

Writing text procedures is one form of text type found in Indonesian language learning that applies the 2013 Curriculum. In this study, researchers focused on writing text procedure skills using edutainment-based learning media. The challenge is implementing a learning system that involves the senses simultaneously. Using a text-based approach, the 2013 Curriculum Indonesian Language Learning trains individuals to solve problems and think critically in accordance with real life. The text that describes a step or way of dealing with it is a text procedure. The main purpose is to make it easier for readers to understand things quickly and precisely. The main objective in this study is to see whether the creation of a happy atmosphere, via the use of edutainment media, will affect the processing, storing and receiving information, and feedback for learning text procedures. The learning outcomes after the use of edutainment-based interactive media procedure for writing text skills increased in comparison to the scores before the use of the media. Therefore, this learning medium is very effective in increasing individual motivation and learning outcomes writing and developing creative ideas.
