AbstrakPerilaku agresif adalah perilaku yang bertujuan untuk menyakiti orang lain, untuk mengekspresikan perasaan negatifnya seperti permusuhan untuk mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan. Terdapat 4 aspek agresivitas, yaitu kemarahan, permusuhan, agresi verbal, dan agresi fisik. Salah satu faktor yang diduga mempengaruhi perilaku agresif adalah kebiasaan bermain video games yang mengandung unsur kekerasan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan perilaku kecanduan bermain video games yang mengandung unsur kekerasan terhadap prilaku agresif pada murid laki-laki kelas IV dan V di SD Negeri 02 Cupak Tangah Pauh Kota Padang Tahun 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan disain cross sectional study dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 83 orang murid laki-laki dari kelas IV dan V di SD N 02 Cupak Tangah Pauh. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara kepada responden menggunakan kuesioner yang kemudian di analisis dengan uji statistik chi-square dengan derajat kepercayaan 95% (0,05).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase responden yang memiliki perilaku agresif lebih tinggi pada responden yang mengalami kecanduan bermain video games yang mengandung unsur kekerasan jika dibandingkan dengan responden yang tidak mengalami kecanduan bermain video games yang mengandung unsur kekerasan (67,6%:20,4%) dan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara kecanduan bermain video games yang mengandung unsur kekerasan dengan perilaku agresif (p-value=0,000).Disarankan bagi pihak sekolah agar memiliki program konseling psikologis anak misalnya dalam bentuk UKESWA (usaha kesehatan jiwa) yang termasuk dalam program UKS (usaha kesehatan sekolah) untuk mendeteksi sejak dini perilaku kecanduan anak terhadap video games yang mengandung unsur kekerasan dan perilaku agresif anak sehingga dapat diberikan bimbingan untuk mengatasi kecanduan dan perilaku agresif tersebut agar tidak berlanjut dan menjadi conduct disorder atau perilaku anti sosialKata kunci : agresif, kecanduan, video gamesAbstractAggressive behavior is a behavior that is intended to harm others to express their negative feelings such as hostility to achieve the desired goal. There are four aspects of aggression, namely anger, hostility, verbal aggression, and physical aggression. One of the factors thought to affect aggressive behavior is a habit of playing violent video games. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship of behavioral addiction playing violent video games toward aggressive behavior in boys elementary school grade IV and V in State Elementary School 02 Cupak Tangah Pauh Padang.This study used a cross sectional study design with total sample of 83 students grade IV and V. Data were collected through interviews with respondents using a questionnaire and then analyzed by chi-square test with 95% confidence level (0.05).The results obtained the percentage of respondents who have aggressive behavior was higher in respondents who experienced addicted to playing violent video games compared to those who did not experience the addiction of playing violent video games (67.6% : 20.4%) and there is a significant relationship between addiction playing violence video games with aggressive behavior (p–value = 0.000). It is advisable for the school to have a psychological counseling program for example in the form of UKESWA (mental health efforts) are included in the program UKS (school health unit) for the early detection of children's behavioral addiction to video games and aggressive behavior so that the children can be given guidance to overcome the addiction and aggressive behavior in order not to continue and become a conduct disorder or anti-social behavior.Keywords : addiction, aggressive, video games

ObjectiveTo evaluate knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) among Chinese college students and their attitude towards participating in CPR training and willingness to perform bystander CPR.DesignA cross-sectional study.ParticipantsA total of 1128 college students were selected through a multistage stratified random sampling method from 12 universities in Chongqing, China.Primary and secondary outcomesPrimary outcomes included CPR knowledge and willingness to participate in training and perform bystander CPR; secondary outcomes included CPR training experience and obstacles to training and performing CPR.ResultsThe average score on CPR knowledge was 2.078 (±1.342). Only 45.5% of the respondents were willing to participate in CPR training. Women, respondents who were postgraduate or above, with liberal arts as major and with high CPR knowledge level were more willing to participate in CPR training. A total of 47.2% of the respondents were willing to provide simple assistance, such as checking the consciousness and breathing of the patient and dialling 120 (medical emergency call). Only 34.1% indicated their willingness to perform bystander CPR on strangers. Perceived behavioural control, behavioural attitudes and subjective norms are positive predictors of willingness to provide bystander CPR.ConclusionsCPR knowledge and training rate were low among Chongqing college students. Willingness to participate in training and perform bystander CPR was also low. Improving legislation, strengthening training programmes, incorporating CPR training into the school curriculum and reshaping the social and public culture of offering timely help to those in need are recommended strategies to improve bystander CPR performance.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between non-nutritive sweetener (NNS) consumption and stress and anxiety, among a sample of college students. Two-hundred and twenty-seven students from a large mid-western university participated in this cross-sectional study. Students completed an online survey that evaluated NNS using a validated food frequency questionnaire. Stress and anxiety were evaluated using previously validated instruments. Most students reported very low/low/average concern for stress (63.9%), and had low/moderate anxiety (82.3%). Participants experiencing high and very high levels of stress had significantly higher NNS consumption compared to those with a very low and low risk, and concern for stress ( p < .046; d = 0.28). There was no difference however for NNS intake and anxiety. Reduction of artificial sweetener intake may be associated with stress levels among college students. However, more research is needed to examine any causal relationship between artificial sweetener intake and stress.

This study aims to explore the association between restrained eating, body image, and dietary intake among Chinese college students. This cross-sectional study included 1301 college students at two universities in Hunan Province. Electronic questionnaires were used to collect information including students’ demographic characteristics, restrained eating, perception of body weight, body satisfaction, and dietary intake. Anthropometric measurements were collected to calculate body mass index (BMI). The prevalence of high restrained eating was 52.8%. Students who were dissatisfied with their bodies or overestimated their body weight showed a higher tendency toward high restrained eating (p < 0.05). Students with high restrained eating tended to eat fruits and eggs more frequently, while the frequency of eating domestic animals and poultry, sugar-sweetened beverages, and fast food were the opposite. Moreover, high restrained eating was a risk factor for low dietary diversity (odds ratio (OR) = 1.384, 95% confidence interval: 1.002~1.912). The high incidence of restrained eating among Chinese college students and its energy-restricted diets that may lead to possible health implications require attention. Further studies are needed to investigate the characteristics of college students’ restrained eating to tailor appropriate interventions for forming positive body images and promoting healthy eating behaviors, thus, improving dietary quality.

Abstract Objectives Evidence suggests that omega-3 fatty acid (n-3 FA) and fish consumption may reduce the risk of the metabolic syndrome (MetS) in older adults. We previously reported that MetS components are prevalent among college students. Identifying modifiable risk factors of developing MetS and its components in young adults will inform potential targets to reduce the risk of age-related health conditions. Our objectives were to measure the cross-sectional impacts of n-3 FA and fish consumption on ≥2 or ≥3 MetS criteria and individual criteria among college students. Methods The College Health and Nutrition Assessment Survey is an on-going cross-sectional study at a public New England college. We examined data from Jan 2008 – May 2017. After excluding those with missing data our final sample size was n = 4271 for n-3 FA & n = 2072 for fish intake analyses. Diet was assessed by a 3 day food record; MetS criteria were collected in fasted state. We expressed n-3 FAs as g/1000 kcals/d. Servings of fish/week was obtained via an online survey. Individuals were categorized as consuming ≥ 2 servings/week or not. MetS was defined as meeting ≥ 3 criteria: elevated glucose, triglycerides, blood pressure, waist circumference, and low HDL. Analyses were conducted by logistic regression. Results The average n-3 FA intake was 0.4 g/1000 kcal/d ± 0.25 & 40% consumed ≥ 2 servings of fish/week. Prevalence estimates for meeting ≥ 2 criteria was 18.8% and 4.8% for MetS. In sex- and energy- adjusted models, n-3 FA consumption was inversely associated with MetS (OR = 0.38; 95%CI: 0.20, 0.71) and ≥2 MetS criteria (OR = 0.67; 95%CI: 0.49, 0.91). Associations were no longer significant after considering additional confounders. Fish consumption was not significantly associated with MetS or ≥2 criteria in any model. Further n-3 FAs and fish consumption was not associated with any individual MetS criteria. Conclusions In this cross-sectional study among college students, n-3 FA and fish consumption were not significantly associated with MetS outcomes. Further research is needed in this population using longitudinal study designs to understand long-term impact of n-3 consumption on the development of MetS and associated cardio metabolic risk factors in young adults.
